cheers for the reply. when i meant ill get the car tuned i meant with a PwrFC i was just checking out different options. the sparks are new, they are the NGK Iridium or something i think they come pre-gapped at .8mm. fuel filter and pump are both new all this was done only 500km ago (got the major 100k service done early). i got a feeling its just a tune cause im getting shit house economy with the car too so yeh might just be that.

oh ok. kool that sounds alrite, so a tune will have it in order.what is causing it thou is it the stock ecu cutting the fuel like i thought? the sudden jolt is strong enough to throw me out the front window if dont hvae my seatbelt buckled. its just one thing after another with these cars, all good fun thou.

hey, can anyone help out basically i got a Bosch 023 and a set of splitfire coils installed yesterday and on around 14psi it feels like the car loses all fuel and just comes to an almight halt but this is only when im giving it some which leads me to believe the stock ecu is limiting the fuel. is this true? i dropped it back down to around 9psi and its only happening at the higher end. can anyone share some light on this situation? also if the car needs a tune would a safc solve this problem? sorry if i sound stoopid and habibish i dont mean too but i seriously have no clue what it could be :S

im trying to explain from a "practical" point of view. research shows that you are like a million times more likely to do something stoopid on the road if you are carrying passengers so restricting them to no passengers would cut the rate in half.

[ rant ] i dont think its a bad idea. i mean, when i was on my reds only a year or so ago we only get 4 points. if u get caught doing 15 and under now a days thats 3 points off, and on a double demerit weekend thats it your licence is gone so its not that different to whats happening now. you understand that if you give a young driver "one more chance" then next time they might not simply walk away with a ticket. i still believe (which has worked great in NZ and other countries) is the passenger restrictions. no one in their right mind "shows-off" to themselves when they are the only ones in the car. take this scenario: you leave a club, its 2am and ur restricted to no passengers. your not going to speed and act like a d*ckhead u just wanna get home and get to bed. if you had mates in the car you would go hooning around and carrying on. ill tell you wats bs thou. ive been with JustCars for over 3 years now. my gf's brother who is with AAMI recieved a free "advance driving course" for an afternoon. i wanted to be insured with AAMI originally but they couldn't because of the car i drive so they recommended JustCar (which is a branch of AAMI). i emiled AAMI to see if i could have an "advanced driving course" offer or one at a reduce price because i really want to test the limit of my car in a controlled environment. they came back to me and gave me the usual "JustCar is a subgroup of AAMI and do not offer this service". my gf's brother has lost his licence twice and been caught for street racing and speeding numerious times yet he gets these privilages. plus he drivers a shitbox VR commodore. doesn't make sence i mean how much could it cost a car insurence company to organse an advance driving course for all its customers at one stage or another. NEW PICS! looking at the rims upclose it doesn't appear to be any damage at all. tyres are as follows: FRONTS x2: Nexen 235/45ZR17 REAR x2: Falken 255/40ZR17. All 4 tyres still got great tread. larger high quality photos can be requested.

greetings! Up for sale are these 17" trispoke rims that came originally with my car. The rims look great and give that overall race look. I will attach some more information tonight when i get home and take a few better shots however frmo my understanding these rims are 17x7 with great tread. yeh definantly an exhaust and POD CAI setup. will give you a good 20rwkw increase no problems. keep it nice and legal. have you had any problems with the silicon joints popping off? I can't boost it more than 8psi without the blue joints popping off. kinda sucks and silicon isn't cheap

Hey, got these rims on saturday. finally got rid of the 17" trispokes hehe. didn't wanna stand out too much i wanted a nice simply race boy look (dont really have the pwr to back up the image but its all good). I went into the store looking for 18s MAX but they had such a great deal on these rims i had to consider it. wat u think? the old 17s are for sale btw too. BEFORE: AFTER: :sorcerer:

fully tabully mate!!! nah honestly i get so sick of loud exhausts. my old swift was 112dB at 3500rpm (used to rev to 9000rpm btw). if u want sound then get the 3.5 turbo back with a canon but yeh more sound doesn't nessary mean more performance. I didn't notice any difference in sound from going to a turboback from a stock exhaust with a larger muffler. still sounded the same but yeh mines only 3".

Hey, im sure it has been covered many times but i haven't been able to find any record of it on the website. I basically need a good mechanic that knows a thing or two about the RB engine. Gotta get the 100,000km service done and i dont want just anyone doing my installation (esp. after last time i got a 100,000km service done to my other car). Can anyone recommend a mechanic in either the Outerwest (penrith) or the Sutherland area (Kirawee or Jannali). I could have sworn i saw one around JustJap but i can't find it again. i got mine done by the same guy who does exhausts. only charged $200 to install exhaust and fmic. im sure there are guys in the area who can do it for ya like ppl said its basically 2 pipes and a plate in the middle. if you buy a kit you can't really go wrong. i'm like you thou im more than confident ill screw something over so i had it done properly. if i gave it a go i would end up with a missing eye or something

^^^ just for fun i emailed autobarn to see how much they sell them for. first email i sent: "just wondering how much bosch 040 are?" and they reply back "bosch 040 coil packs are $1500". After a giggle i reply'd back saying "they are fuel pumps" and he goes "$400". so yeh why pay $400 when u can get em half that price. bak to the thread

where abouts can u get em for $520? Autobarn almost called the medics when they told me a new set of spitfires would cost over $1500 (cause i wasn't expecting more than $500~$600). i got the exact same problem as you guys. gotta get this fixed up soon

hey, i was wondering how much one would expect to pay for a couple coats of clear (maybe with some peral). i haven't sourced any quotes yet but just wanted to get a rough idea. thinking maybe 3 coats with either peral or some flakes. cheers.

i got the same problem after fitting the fmic and exhaust. it gets pretty bad on anything over 7psi. im gonna try this and hopefully this will solve it!!! (it sucks spending all thsi money and not been able to boost it more than 5psi )

not sure if its related but my BOV was leaking and dropped factory boost from 7psi to 4psi. after this was changed and a boost controller was added it seemed to be ok.

hey, i did a search but not much came up. basic question i was wondering if coils from a series 2 R33 would suit a series 1 R33? i dont see why not but thought it'll be best to double check. cheers.
