  1. Cool. Bout time we had some more V35 owners on here...hey wait a minute, you'll probably be THE FIRST V35 owner on here! Look forward to seeing some pics! Any preference on color? Red with gunmetal rims perhaps?!
  2. what he ^ said
  3. Unfortunately, I'm guessing that very few people on here (myself included) have yet to drive a V35 coupe (or even see one in the flesh) so naturally everyone basis their opinions on looks (and what they've read) alone... Some people like the V35's. Some don't. It's all cool Rezz, I wouldn't let other people's opinions about the V35 influence your decision to get one.
  4. Black does look damned good , the only problem is keeping it clean...I was forever washing my old black R33 Nissan definitely pushed gunmetal grey ad THE color for the R32's. For the 34's it was without a doubt bayside blue, but the R33's? Their "special" color was midnight purple but most of their literature featured silver cars...
  5. I have to agree. At my local circuit most of the N/A racers (civics mainly) always use a small bore exhaust to keep back pressure up. On my current car there is a definite difference in the bottom end power/torque when I add or remove the tail pipe baffle. Generally speaking, if you go for an aftermarket exhaust avoid anything too big and make sure it's designed/tuned for an N/A engine...
  6. I've not had the opportunity to fit a HICAS boss onto my car, yet, so I can't advise you much. I believe you need to make sure the connectors are aligned correctly and I heard someone mention an additional wire (not only the horn one) that needs to be connected. You may also need to reset the hicas after you're done. Maybe someone else on here has first hand experience... good luck!
  7. As an example of what I said above, fujitsubo provide quite detailed info on all of their exhausts - here's what a typical power/torque graph looks like: Notice power and torque are way down under 3K rpm, but pick up and improve at higher revs. I'm not saying this is typical of all exhausts, but you do have to choose with care, especially with N/A... Dave
  8. it's always much more challenging (and expensive) to mod an N/A car sucessfully. As NA_R33 said, exhaust, extractors etc will give you a much better breathing engine, but I'd be very careful about choosing which products to use - a lot of the big bore aftermarket exausts will cause you to lose a lot of low end power/torque, which is exactly what you dont want...
  9. It's because you either didn't use a HICAS compatible boss, or you fitted the hicas compatible boss incorrectly...
  10. I'm not sure about the ISP's. You could try Yahoo. But I agree with akeenan - there are plenty of internet cafe's about where you can get online. Failing that, most electrical/computer stores will have machines you can "try" with various levels of broadband access. It'll also save you the hassle of carrying around a laptop... (Some of the bigger ISP's are Big globe and OCN)
  11. I don't have the auto light system on my car, but a courtesy car I drove for a week did. I found that they were OK, but they tended to turn you lights on when you didn't really need them. e.g multi-storey car parks, short tunnels etc...
  12. Demon Dave a.k.a Dave Ireland garrack@hotmail.com Travelling with wife and son. Rezz, did I give you my keitai number? If not, then I'll PM ya with it. See you all there! edit: and my mobile email: skyworks@t.vodafone.ne.jp
  13. I've yet to get anything definite from the British contingent - that maybe do to it being xmas week and everyone is pissed... Will let you know when I do. Count me in, I'll be there on the 10th at 10AM or there abouts. Rezz, I wouldn't worry about being late, I have a feeling most of us will probably be a little late anyways!
  14. Looks awesome doesn't it! I went to an official top secret tuning day in October, held at Tsukuba and I was really hoping to catch a glimpse of some TS tuned V35 coupes...alas, there was none. But their Z and R34 GTR demo cars more than made up for it.... The V35 is a damn good car. Got to move with the times as they say, and the V35 is it. Don't like it? That's OK - each to their own. Go buy a celica...
  15. Really sorry to hear that... w4nkers...whoever did it...w4nkers
  16. I recall what my dear old grandmother said to me when she saw a car fitted with a GT wing similar to that: "Dave look at that fool, driving around with an ironing board on the back of his car!" No comment.
  17. just to clarify, here's the HICAS unit on my car: Dave
  18. Not sure. I don't think it was standard, but it could well have been an option. Perhaps the easiest way to check is: Look for the dash light when you turn on the ignition. Or Have a quick look under the back of the car for the HICAS unit and control arms... Dave
  19. LOL I'm finding I've now got too much free time on my hands
  20. :D
  21. Most of the car clubs I know of are run by Japanese, for Japanese. Naturally, their websites (if they have them) are also in Japanese. Unfortunately I have yet to find any Skyline club where the members speak (good English... Mind if I ask why you want to get in contact with Japanese car clubs?
  22. I will indeed.
  23. Oh, and forgot to add: オートライトシステム= auto light system - the light switch has an additional setting: OFF/AUTO/LOW/MAIN It just means the lights will turn on automaticallly when it gets dark...
