  1. my mate got pulled over and told to weld a bit of metal to the bar where he had cut it to strengthen it up, and to tidy it up so there was no sharp edges.
  2. i have the 3.5" x-force cat and cat back on mine (already had front pipe) and i have seen others with the full system. well worth it for the money.
  3. instead of using the go fast pedal to get away from a dickhead driver, why not hit the go slow pedal? then you don't have to worry about him coming flying up your arse and slamming you off the road if he tries to overtake you.
  4. has to be red to be legal. you can only have red pointing backwards and white pointing fowards. in australia you can be booked for having blue lights on your car.

  6. not sure where it would be. there is prbably a wire either off the ecu or the shifter.
  7. if i understand correctly he isn't reving it to top end, it just sounds like the noise is coming from the top end.
  8. the latest turbosmart FCD is a much better unit. it doesn't just clamp the signal. it clamps it at a set voltage, but allows you to keep the signal rising. you just bend the afm signal until it no longer hits r&r. this will allow you to gain power even if you haven't hit r&r because it is leaning out the mixture. it works off a system just like a safc.
  9. if it is an oval type muffler and a 3" it should be a straight through design, so the gain going to a cannon would be extremely small, if at all. the air has usually slowed down significantly by the time they exit the exhaust. the biggest restriction is the cat. changing your muffler won't do anything accept add more noise. tell your mate he's an idiot.

  11. saw a white s1 33 with a s2 front bar in gympie at the st pats church this arvo. would've been at my mates sisters wedding. had personalised plates something along the lines of JML81. black plates with white writing. i drove past and saw it (wasn't invited to the wedding). then did a bit of a skid up the road.
  12. only problem with this is that he said he feels it through the steering wheel but the car isn't shaking. if the uni is gone you should feel the car shake. if it is shaking the steering wheel then it is either suspension or wheel balance.

  14. provided you don't get epa test. then it becomes a VERY expnsive mod.
  15. what sort of controller do you have?
  16. on top of the cover. also if your TPS on the throttle body has 2 plugs (only 1 may have wires) it is a series 2 motor.
  17. even just bumping it up to 10 or 11 psi will feel much better than stock.
  18. anyone wanna go halves? i always wanted a 4x4. my mate has a similar set of wheels on his lancer, but they look a lot better than those. similar design but bigger holes, and different dish.
  19. i get to 60 on the limiter in 1st. i'd say that with ratios that tall you have probably got pretty crap 60ft times, but would be interested to see them, and possibly be proved wrong.
  20. most people say 10-12psi. it really depends on when the ecu hits rich and retard. you will know when you hit this as it kills the motors power. it retards the timing and richens the fuel right up. i run 14psi on my 33 with a remapped ecu. goes a lot better than 12psi, and when my turbo blows i have an excuse to get a new one.
  21. the ecu is the same. some people think that the series 2 have the ignitor in the ecu but they are wrong. it is in the coils. do you have a little silver box at the back of the coilpack cover? if you do then get series 1 coils. if you don't get series 2 coils.
  22. love how people say rich and retard before asking what ecu. also it sounds nothing like rich and retard. rich and retard is a violent stop/start. i used to get it happen on cold mornings. sounds like you have a spark issue. either coils or plugs. does it sound as if you are hitting a limiter? if so then it is a spark issue. how old are the plugs? and what sort? if they are iridium pull them straight out and get nice cheap copper ones. about $4 each and seem to last longer and run better than iridiums.
  23. if you took your seat and everything else and a picture of some of the other ones on the market to a engineering workshop they would be able to make something up for you for a darn sight less than what the others are charging.
  24. if you can't get her to let you buy a full exhaust, just get a bigger cat. that is the biggest restriction in the system. that should give you a little power gain.
