  3. Last lunatic I knew with a 240 coupe threw a 350 in his and used to drive it all over the place getting whacked on by Sydney traffic for a few years, sick bastard also used to put little flags down the front quarter panel on the drivers side. They where not for drags won... they where for cars and bikes the damn thing had run into it, killed and kept going About the only thing comparable in 'sedan' toughness I can think of off the top of my head is the old W123 mercedes chassis, those things just keep on going for a half a million miles, hit with clusterbombs, antipersonel mines, sprayed down with 7.62mm rounds and keep on rollin', ride of choice for 3rd world gangstas! You could probably have a beach party and V8 under the hood with one of them!
  4. You can also drop a 350chev in them Hah, a friend of mine at uni had one and they're insanely tough. This bloke in a brand new HSV cut her off one day while we where on the way to school one morning and lets just say, he cut it a 'bit fine' pulling in front of her... BANG! f**king plastic everywhere! Whole back end of the commo was lying across the road and I'm getting out thinking, shit the front end of the horrible orange panzer must be gone as well because of the mess. Nope... Theres a thumb sized chunk out of the big, ugly arsed bumper and some scratches but that was it, I climbed underneath and checked out the damage thinking somethings got to have been bent, twisted or busted because the HSV was pretty much a write off. Nothing! Not a f'ing thing
  5. It's been a few years... Guess rev it too about 4-5k, drop it and flat shift from 2nd-3rd, clutch kick that bitch at 80km/h into the corner to get the back end out, power on, opposite lock and use the hand brake if you need it. Lots of smoke and speed, judges like smoke.
  6. Poor S13... it's like being shot down before getting to the combat zone when youre a kamakazi pilot, S13's are supposed to be destined for a firey, glorious explosions somewhere sideways and then off a cliff. Least you'll grow back though (I is selling the 'p0rnstar' sometime early next year if youre interested... she's 'lucky black', very pretty and very fast too! but dont tell the people at sil-nsw.com about it... they'll fookin keel me!)
  7. Bump for one of the old school of Aussie S13 import owners from way back from another old crusty bastard. I'm sort of hoping youre at least going to buy an S15 with the funds from this baby
  8. What I dont get is. Why are they doing a side-by-side with a nissan GTT made in 1998 next to a ford XR6 made in 2005ish? Seven, is a lot of years in terms of engine development and aside from the fact theyre both RWD and have turbos, its at about this point we're just really talking shit when it comes to comparisons
  9. I might not be a fan of the VE or think its the top contender, certainly not the lowest on the list either, but they never shut up about the damn thing... Few advertising $$$ for the magazine doesnt hurt either so I reckon it'll win. Toyota Aurion probably should win, seems too be a well put together machine in terms of design and value for money. Pity theyre not RWD or AWD, they'd then take a bite out of the Subaru and huge chop into the large-car market.
  10. Ah crap. Oh well one long term project on the back burner for a bit longer it seems. Look on the bright side, maybe theres a more modern product coming out soon... I hope!
  11. Well they can, just means doubling speeding fines...
  12. Wonder with a set of bellows like that if its got boilers?
  13. New theyre about $1200 Depends mostly how many k's its got on it and if its been boosted past stock.
  14. 1) Because the chassis will literally bounce off the track if its not twisted into a pretzel shape. 2) Money, its cheap, people are cheap. People buy cheap before they buy good. Oh, and torque, larger pistons, crankshafts and flywheels produce more torque as not everyone likes a 4000rpm launch 3) S2000's are over-rated, $10k car + $3-4k suspension and tyres = S2000 handling All weight is bad, removing weight from the front like essential items, batteries and so forth is a much easier way. 4) Carbon Monoxide + carbon dioxide, a dozen other types of poisoning and going deaf.
  15. Yeesh! Front of the evo looks like its made too scoop up furry animals as youre driving.
  16. "The other gears are just there too decide how angry the police are going to be with you"
  17. If I buy one of these things too stick on my engine will it go faster?
  18. Funniest crap I've seen in a long time, especially with the guy in the transit smacking his head on the windshield.
  19. Feeding crocodiles tourists? Ah dont worry about it not being policed, if they can drag enough money out of the population they'll have extra highway patrols up there in no time.
  20. I grew up there and my sister moved back there recently, lot of other family scattered around the area. Havent lived there for some time but my brother in law says finding work is pretty easy, if you have a trade of some sort or well qualified and experienced. My sister has a bit of trouble finding work as she's mostly hospitality industry/early child care stuff which there isnt a lot about. Housing is really cheap compared too most places and the building industry is still fairly busy up there, most of the suburbs are a much a much, (stay out of Coledale though!) roads are terrible for anyone with hard suspension Night life, well theres lots of pubs, couple of night clubs, workers club I think still open and West Leagues club and so forth, wouldnt be able too recommend any of them specifically. GTFO around January... it fills up with country music freaks. Its a good time too take a holiday
  21. Fuel is always going too cost you a lot on anything which is good for towing or like someones said, gas could be an option. Personally I prefer diesel or just a huge petrol engine. Old X series panel vans and sedans arent too bad if they've got the 351 clevo in them, aftermarket diff, decent gearbox, they already come with a pretty strong chassis with takes readily too huge arse tow gear. (My old Ford Landau was definately the shit for towing in style though, 4 bucket seats, aircon, 4 wheel disks power everything which was pretty novel in a 1974 vintage. Sadly I sold it) 351's are too bad if you dont molest the pedal too much, otherwise you can just sit there in summer with the aircon on and watch the fuel gauge plummet every time you give it some binking and theyre 'f**ken stupid' proof motors if you look after them.
  22. Old FJ60 Landcruisers arent too bad for legally towing that much stuff but dont expect it too be fast! Or very nimble either as theyre freaking huge old tanks But theyre tanks! (But in the price range you want) FJ40's will do it too but theyre actually sometimes more expensive than the 60's, the short wheelbase or ute ones are the go if you can find a good one for the right price, diesel and in short wheelbase or ute configuration. Theyre super tough and also super slow.
  23. Its sort of hard too say who won that fight, neither are likely too feel the lovin's of sweet sweet petrol again Did same said customer say what he was doing?
