Was surfing thru the japanese Nismo website, came across this little product category 'Complete Cars'.
In it showcases the NISMO specials, 400R, 270R etc etc.
What struck me was that it had an R33 Type-M up there too(under 1994)
Now this Type M looks very much different from what dealers were always labelling their cars as Type-M or 'M-Spec'.
It seems to have a much higher rear wing, 400R skirts and different rims too. It also looks like it has a series II bonnet but with series 1 headlights??
Or is this what a real M-Spec/Type M should look like? Or have we been fooled for so long?:Paranoid: The theory used to be that all R33s are Type-M(as long as its turbo) and if this is indeed a NISMO special, why didn't they changed the code or something?(ie, R33 GT-R vs 400R) Hence I would think that the Type-M designation is only for cars similar to the one in the pic with the NISMO goodies fitted...and while GTSTs are just......GTSTs? Well?
weird isnt it?...:alien:
I've attached a pic.:bahaha: :Paranoid:
