Having a look around that site, the closest I can find is at http://www.grid.co.jp/list/44_03.html, possibly TU11611 - my japanese isn't good enough to know... Do you have the exact part number, and do you kown if it is available in English, or only japanese??? Ian
-
.. as it has ecr33-051374 (jan 1995) and ecr33-051376 (also Jan 1995), but not ecr33-051375!!!
-
Sorry about that. When I type yhe number in that you gave (ECR33-051375) it comes back with "model series can not be found for this vin no" The one that I actuall commented on was ECR33-005137 - I'd left the five of the end, and had an extra zero at the front. Are sure your number is correct and that you don't have a digit wrong???? Ian
-
It was made in 93/08 - so it's actually a 1993 car! Edit: Cancel that - I think I screwed up entering the code! Ian

Valid point - that thread is a mess! I am trying to sort it out, but the original thread starters aren't being to helpful... It was up in japan - so I would have imported it myself.. I agree that IF you could get what you want locally, that's a good idea... But that one 2000 series 2 manual in queensland is what is technically know as 'bait' - it hasn't even left Japan yet, so you can't go to queensland and pick it up! You have to buy it NOW, then get it off the boat... If you are going to do that, you may as well buy exactly what you want, with a full auction report, in Japan... Unfortunately, all the stageas seem to have some form of tradeoff, there doesn't appear to be a 'perfect' one.. :-( ie they don't do traction control on the 4wd versions! However, in this case you're wrong - a LSD was an OPTION on the 2000 model rs4 auto, and was on the manual.

almost bought a 1999 autech 260rs today... But still looking .. :-)

Asking again, where do we get the map from??? Surely the person who started this thread knows, or what was the point of this thread!! Ian
-
I agree that lot's of people have contributed to the consult stuff, but there isn't much doubt that the plms guys got it all working, and are the ones who tested it all etc. They are the ones quoted all around the world for this circuit, and for the consult specs (do a google search and see!)Indeed, if you look at the blaZt web site, you'll see bits that have been just copied from the plms ones. - sorry, I know that is off topic. Of course the real topic is, is this a group buy? If so what prices are they offering? If not, it should not have been in this section.....
-
I've added you to http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...660#post1324660 which now gives 7, so that's $45 each and dropping. Anybody who participates in the buy will also get a free copy of whatever ROM editor I end up writing (assuming I do!) Back to a question I asked earlier - has anyone got a link to a web page that states where/how we can by the map specification?
-
or if you want one from the guys who actually did the work to design the circuit etc, go to http://www.plmsdevelopments.com/consult_if.htm which is where I got mine from....

Yep - I think I'll start a full page on my web site that summarises everything in this thread....! Have you used (or know someone who has) the NSX10AA? It doesn't even do that very well, given I started 15 minutes ago, expect to see something better from me :-) within a week or two... The streaming shouldn't make things to bad - as you can always stop it, then restart when you've finished.. The direct ram read doesn't look too hard to do Yuck! Why bother going USB if you are going to use 9600! Yep, I can see that - but you shouldn't need to, as he should make it public! My post on his forum has had no response, which is a bit worrying.. And I'm not 100% sure the consult interface HAS been 100% cracked - as I'm still surprised that the only active setting changes there are only last while the engine is running.. Surely there must be a way to save them! Ian

I'm always nervous buying the first release of something - particularly before it has been released! It's also in a critical position in the car! So I'll wait to see it actually arrive first.. The r34 one on that page is the NSX10AA - but that DOESN'T look like the the photo of the one mentioned by ed ie http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...achmentid=25808 So we all might be talking about more than one board... I was guessing that it did - only because it would make sense that if you'd put that much work into the hardware' date=' you would have bought the map and done a bit of software to effectively use it :-)
-
and I'm still updating the list at http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...660#post1324660

As I said above (nothing like quoting myself!) there are two different boards - 1) the grid one - which needs the maps fully understood. That's what started this thread. 2) The bikirom one (soon to be) which doesn't need the rom stuff, as it comes with software... I can't seem to find many details about the grid one (ie I can't find it on there site, and Ed hasn't posted a link to it). I'm going to do one or the other! And don't worry, it will suit a M-AT NEO, as that's what I've got:-)
-
This thread has got slightly confused - and it's probably my fault! Ed was looking at the Grid board, not the Badbiki one.. Actually, I'd just prefer an open protocol, as USB isn't that hard to talk to.. But you do have a point I should have said - if the Badbiki one actually comes out at a reasonable price, with live update and software, it won't be worth doing the Grid one...
-
Sorry, I got confused with all the stuff in this post! Could you post both the link to the grid rom board, and the link to the rom data spec on the grid home page ie http://www.grid.co.jp/en/index.htm??? Ian
-
I'm still curious - if you don't need real time update, why can't you unsolder the ones from the current ecu, and solder on ssome sockets, then plug in some EEPROMS.. I'm going to hunt around for a spare box, and give it a go... Ian
-
I just went to http://www.bikirom.com/ - which where I think you said (earlier in this post) that you got the board from (not Grid as I said above). This project 1) looks to have come quite a way since this thread started, 2) is capable of real time updates, 3) is still being finished... The early boards that started this thread aren't what is now being used, and the new boards 1) aren't available yet, 2) come with software, so we may not need to buy the MAP (his details on software are that great, so we still might need to..) Ian

I notice that http://www.925style.com/editor_direct.html has gone off the air - which doesn't bother me too much IF we can get the Map specs - as I'll write my own program to modify a map.. (I'm sure you'll all want a copy.. :-) Looking at the Grid site (ie http://www.grid.co.jp/en/index.htm) I can't find either a link to by the map specification, or a link to find the daughterboard this thread is discussing. Would you like to post them? On another note again, couldn't we just unsolder the ROM chips on the ECU, replace them with sockets, and burn chips and put them in? Why do we need the daughterboard? I can find where they list the binary files you can use in their software (ie http://www.grid.co.jp/prod/HP040609.txt), and interestingly, it lists for the R34 - [R34] | | - 34MB-09K | | - 34MB-UP | | - AA560.N1 | | - AA560.N2 | | - ACCESS.DAT | | - BOOSTUP.GTR | | - EXET.CON | | - GTR.1 | | - GTR34.NOR | | - R34A5100.BIN | | - R34AA500.09K | | - R34AA500.11K | | - R34AA500.12K | | - R34AA500.1K | | - R34AA500.BIN | | - R34T.NOR

hmmm, and the ROM swapper looks good to - http://www.grid.co.jp/en/prod/prod75.htm Ian

Hi Ed I've chipped in to help (so to speak) as I suspect this project has been going around in circle for a bit too long.. :-) Off on a tangent, the grid emulators don't look to expensive either ie http://www.grid.co.jp/en/prod/prod257.htm :-) Back to this project - My understanding of this daughterboard is that it will efectively replace the on board ROM chips. However, changes to the EEPROM on board will have to be done out of circuit ie unplug them, re blow them, and then put them back in. Is this correct? Ian
-
I'm in. In fact, I'm happy to organise it (If someone will tell me where they are getting that $300 quote from! :-) Have we got 4 more people who want to put $45 in? I'll keep a List here (by editing this post - 1) dr_drift 2) ian 3) ed 4) Gary2 5) Neo_R34 6) Coxy_ 7) ? Ian

Can you post a link to where you can buy the table? I've done a bit of a search but haven't found it..

Hmm, my .bin dump is also only 32K - does that mean not all of it is downloading?
