  1. Just keep a cold head and don't beat it. It won't damage your engine even with factory tune. And your engine stalling is not a result of new turbo. Air/Vac leaks, or AFM placement need to be addressed due to new turbo making a lot more turbulance and air passes back and forth through AFM, resulting in mix readings. Just check your shit for leaks, get the car tuned and speak to the tuner about AFM placement. Good luck!

  3. Last time I checked it was pretty expensive. Blitz kit is/was anything from 1-2k AUD/USD. And aus made one were a tad cheaper. Don't remember how much.
  4. Thanks for the replies. As we all know, some of garret pump turbos are out of flow from calculations, but still making power. Just a thought. What do you rekon would be possible max power with GT3782 on rb25 ? And its journal bearing.

  8. Please select a turbo to suit your application haha. Kinda cool. When are you going to get the tests done ? Did you have a thought about trying out some other ecus while you are at it ? Like vipec/link/haltech ? Maybe grab one from somebody to test out ? You got all the great equipment, why not go further and push to the max. E85, 4 turbos, best engine management. Who knows what would you be able to push out of the little RB20.

  10. Roy, I think its more applicable to ball-bearing. The main problem with the oil only cooling is the premature engine turn off, when temps are high enough to cook the oil inside the cartridge. All the resudue and burnt oil substance will block the passages and do damage to bearings. 10degrees working tempreature difference won't be that noticable compared to shut down without cool down. They would design and choose materials with a lot of stress in mind, including water cooling system damage. On the dayly car or a public transport that would be considerable. But on a modified vehicle. I don't think so. Just my 2c.

  12. Its not ball-bearing, so who cares ? Water cooling just lets you shut the baby right off after you gave it hard time smashing the limiter and not waiting for it to cool down.

  14. I will try to find some pics of HX30 Thats how it pretty much looks. Pretty tall. But you can shave off that internal wastegate stuff off. I can send a V-band flage with it. Just weld it on afterwards and thats it.
  15. I'm sure there will be some people who could help you out with tuning and not reaping your arm and leg. Maybe even free or mate's discount rate as long if its limited to tuning only I guess. Maybe if you do it in a week time, not in 1 day. It would be easier. Fit one turbo, drive to the tuner, get results and drive home. Change to another one, next day same stuff. Since all of those turbos will be quite similar, maybe difference in low-end between td05 and td06. But top-end difference mostly. Its an experiment for community. And somebody should take pride to be a part of it. Document it thouroughly, take pics and vids. And could even be good advertisement for the tuner later.

Since you are going to test your RB20 to the limit to find out the best turbo. Do you mind taking this little fella for a ride ? Its Holset HX30. compressor IN:49MM EX:73MM Turbine: IN:64MM EX:52MM Turbine AR 9cm, T3 Flange. Should be quite a good match for RB20. Will you be interested in testing it out ? Probably need to run factory exhaust manifold. I would be happy to send that turbo to you for testing. You get the turbo and test it out. Post the results. And keep the turbo.   19. It was a R154 gearbox. Not W58. W58 is alrightish at around 300-350hp. Never tried more. W58 clutch selection is scarce. Can't find good clutch for them. And their shiftig feel sucks. R154 shifting feel is sluggish also. In that way, even an old proved RB20 gearbox is way better in shifting feel than Toyota. Shit. Smashed oil cooler and oil spilled on something hot. Caught on fire. Scary shit haha.

Ser Ming Hui | Formula Drift Indonesia Everyone probably have seen his youtube vids: He has alright skills  And he is very popular in malaysia for his big ass black cop glasses and tight jeans. Ah Fai is f**king tandemer to say the least. haha. He is also some malaysian drift porn movie star. Some say he is the most recogniseable drifter in malaysia. Its for you to decide. In 2010 he also joined the WDS with me, but his car was far from being complete. So we shared my shagged C33. Btw, he did became popular in malaysia for his drifting with A31 Cefiro. He still uses A31 in his Thailand drift competitions. Though he always insists that I change my car to something coupe-ish or less-doorish. I tell him to go jump of the roof instead:) In 2011 he came to TianJin for WDS with his last years car. Built in China. But with a lot of gremlins:) А31 Cefiro with RB25DET, GT3582R , 444сс inj, Adaptronic ecu, OS Giken twinplate, and suspension wise it was identical to my 2JZ A31. You can hear it from the video. I was so stocked and tired that I didn't care nor I watched a tacho. I thought I was so mega cool that I could reach the 7500 rpm fuel cut lol))) When red s13 240sx convertible left, I had barely no powersteering left. Which resulted in my first understeer crush haha. All others were oversteer haha. I mushed my oil cooler on that run. So while my friend was looking for a spare oil cooler for me. I borrowed a car from a friend. 240SX S13 Convertible with RB25 that we put new turbo someway during the build of my A31. Judges said they had some communication problem and couldn't get us on the track last time. I changed one tire at the rear. Different tread and direction, also thinner wheel. Went to chase Saito. Start in 2nd gear, shift to 3rd and nailed it in. Was nervous to get too much of a distance between us. So stayed on the throttle through first corner. I did realize my rear grip sucked. It was my mistake and it pretty much sums up my driving skills(( The most I thought is about Saito in the front and that maybe I would clip the outer wall just a bit But I f**king lost it)) Rear hit the wall to deep and I stayed on the throttle thinking I would be able to steer it out of the wall. And all it did is smash my front and trail it down the wall more. Anyway it was my mistake and it pretty much sums up my driving skills(( Oil cooler was on the left side. It was the first thing to get busted by the mighty concrete. Oil drops on to something hot and I get fire. Seeing fire near your right foot is not a pleasant site. Don't do that at home haha. Jumped out of the f**king car as soon as I could. Knocking down the track marshal or smth.
