That i dont know. AASA is in Qld so i assume it would have to be pre purchased? At the moment i think SAUWA next AHG driving event will be in March. Its very possible that Late feb we will have a Dyno day event. It will be posted up once everything is in place.

FOr the license it depends on what events you want to compete in. The AASA license is pretty much only good for AHG, where as a cams license (Speed level 2 i think it si) is good for pretty much every event (Ahg, Wanneroo, speed events, hill climb, drift etc etc ) I think (dont quote me to the dollar) but the AASA lic for 12 months is $55? and a CAMS lic is $88 per year? However, to acquire a CAMS lic you need to be a member of a CAMS affiliated club. My recommendation is to join the NOLIMIT EVENT (www.nolimitevents.com) club. Its $12 per year. You cant join them unless you do one of thier events. They have a Wanneroo track night at the end of this months. (31st). Due to day light savings, we get to use the long track until about 8.30pm. What more can i help you with?

Aquaplay? No Controll On Front When Wet
R DIRTY 3 replied to Unix26's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Sounds like you need to take a very good look at the tyres for a start. Are they "ling longs" or something crappy like that? -
Should i enquire as to to what your bunky is? LOL There is always going t obe heaps of people to come along to these events. Upto Jippa and Chucky as to what thjey are doing in that dept.

Staged, at the moment i think the preference is for Stageas. If numbers of Stageas are not high enough, it will probably be open to other people and vehicles. I am helping to organise and run the event, but i am not making the rules LOL

Anyone Know Who Makes 260rs Coilovers Still
R DIRTY 3 replied to unique1's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
My thoughts exactly. Tein can revalve their shocks and add a heavier rear spring to take the extra weight. Cant see why HKS etc wouldnt be able to aswell. -
64 Studebaker UGLY????? I dont think we can be friends anymore! p.s. Supras suck!

Hey Kylie, Did you not bring the car in while i wasnt here? Bring it in anytime, im back at work now I would suggest leave the thread open for a week, or more as an Expression of Interest then decide on the numbers etc.

$1100 is what AHG centre charge me to hire 1 skid pan for half a day with instructors. If you wish to divide that between your entrants, however many you want, thats up to you (16 maximum). Most clubs will ask for $5 or $10 more per person for the social fund or what ever. If you guys want to supply your own drinks then thats completely fine. All i need is for you to tell me how many drivers you want, and how much to charge each person and a date estimate and ill be happy to sort it from there! I would like to see a lot more stageas on the track!!!! If you are stuggling with numbers, we could open it to SAUWA forum users as well. p.s. it is also possible to have 2 people driving 1 car. I always space them evenly to give the car a chance to cool down etc. I have seen husband/wife combinations, father/sons, father/daughters, or just a couple of mates. I have found that my wife loves these training events as there is no pressure with timing. She can have an instructor sit beside her and help her with things to improve on, or do differently etc so theres no reason your partners cant come have some fun and learn aswell (In the autotest series, with all this training, she has got results as high as 6 in class which is fantastic considering the competetion.) Just another thought

Jerome i just saw you were looking at a double skid pan event? Few things to consider. 1. Most people have probably never been to AHG and 2 skid pan events can be quite intimidating to beginers. Best if people get comfortable with 1 first IMHO 2. Double skid pans are more expensive which can quite possibly turn people off. 3. Speeds can be higher using the double skid pans. For someone who has never pushed their car to the limit like this, this can be a bit off-putting. I would recommend to start slow, get used to the car in these environments and work your way up. 4. To run double skid pan, the amount of time to do a lap is obviously greater by 10-20 seconds (Depending on the drivers speed of course) so for the day, each person will do less laps. Its completely up to you guys what you want to do, i am just throwing some thoughts and suggestions gained from the experience of running these events. I am happy to help with whatever you guys need. If you want me to butt out and p**s off, then let me know LOL Cheers

Maybe even look towards March as the weather may be a bit niceer for everyone? For those who dont know me, i am the Brad who has offered to organise and run the event for you. I have done several of these days for SAUWA with great success and interest. These events are NOT TIMED! These are driver training events. Instructors will be there on hand to help you learn to drive your car to the limit, and hopefully not beyond (although moments do happen ) This is held at the AHG Centre in Kewdale. For those who have been out there before, youll appreciate that it is a fantastic, safe venue for this sort of thing. To hire the skid pan for half a day, with qualified instructors is $1100. We try to make an extra $100 to allow for drinks, ice and nibbly type snacks to be supplied to all participants on the day. Feel free to drop that if you wish to make it an extra $10 or so cheaper for everyone, but keep in mind there is normally enough soft drink supplied for even the spectators Hope this gives you some more info. Let me know if i can help with any more Cheers Brad SAUWA Motorsport Co-ordinator

Well its different!!! lol As for the TVR, are you sure there is a tow bar available for it
-
Updated for 2008! More events will be added as i find out about them. Cheers Brad

The studebaker cruiser (64 or 65) could be made to look modern. Google them and have a look. There would be plenty of room in the engine bay to put what ever you want (toyota/lexus V8 perhaps?) a nice coat of paint, tinted windows, big rims etc etc.......it could work
-
Go old school. 64 Studebaker Cruiser would make a good looking VIP with the right mods. and for towing, you cant beat the V8. (think std they ran a 289 but i would dump that and go Chev....350 would be the better choice as parts are easy and chaep to get)

Krys, need to speak to you asap. Cheers mate

Yeah the rears are the problem lol You can get them revalved later if you need so chuck them on. Let me know if i am right
-
If i were a betting man, id bet they are not softer lol
-
To revalve, the shock absorber needs to be opened up, stripped and the valve needs to be changed to make it softer. Valving is what determines how hard/soft the shock is. Im sure there is a thread on here explaining how the shock works. Check it out and read it and you will probably understand it more. Konis will be hard as hell. Take it from experience It would have been worth spending the extra $$ on something else because by the time you pay to revalve, it wont be cheap
-
The spring seat can be lowered to give a height drop of around 15-20mm. Not much at all. However, they can be regrooved if you feel you need it to go lower. The problem with the Koni Rear Shock is the "bump" is very strong due to the develpoment work being done in Japan. (and we all know how Japan do things). They really do need to come down a few valve numbers to smooth off the bump. Toperformance in Melb will be able to advise you further on the revalve, but you will have to pay for it of course. Why did you choose to go a Koni over a Bilstein or similar if you dont mind me asking? Was it purely the discount?
-
The height is Adjustable by a circlip set up, similar to the bilsteins. The Damper (or shock absorber) is rebound adjustable only, but leave them on the softest rebound setting. The rears are valved quite hard! You have been warned. lol I suggest you get them revalved before you fit them.

Why not try talking to places like XSpeed etc? They may have some tips for you. Got to be careful it doesnt break the rivets on the floor pan. lol Good Luck and i look forward to seeing the results
