  1. Thanks for the replys, do the blue silicone hoses become hard and brittle like the rubber ones?? Where's the best place to get them? Gary
  2. Hi all, can anyone please tell me what the correct name is for this hose (picture) It was very hard and snapped like a stick when I tried to remove it and the "u" shapped hose connecting both cam covers is also u/s. I would appreciate it if anyone can tell me the correct names for these two and where I can get replacement ones from. Gary
  3. Thanks race, the first thing I checked were the screws, all were secure. Might see if I can remove and reseal before spending $160 on gaskets. Gary
  4. Hi all, took the car over the pits the other day for rego transfer. No problems at all except a note from one of the guys about a small oil leak at the rear of the motor. I knew it was there before so I washed everything, it appears that it is coming from the cam cover. Does anyone know where the best (and cheapest) place is to get new ones or is it worth trying to remove and reseal what is there? Gary

  14. Hi all, as I have only owned this car for 3 weeks, I am still "learning" all about it. It has a 4 speed auto (3 speed + overdrive) but I have noticed when driving, there are 5 gear changes????? I have counted them time after time but still get the same amount of changes. I have checked the Gearbox model on the compliance plate and the number refers to it being 4 speed auto. I have only just noticed this since doing a ECU reset, since then it changes (from a stop/start) throught the four gears BUT then I noticed a further reduction in the rev level of about 500rpm? At 100kph I am doing approx 2600rpm, does this sound right of have I completely lost it???
  15. I have a Greddy speed limiter removal kit, new in box never fitted. If interested, let me know. Gary
  16. Hi all, after reading a lot in these forums, I noticed there were a number of discussions about u/s o2 sensors and some people stated that one from an EL Ford will do the same job. This lead me to do some searching and asking questions from others and as such, I located where the "correct" sensor can be found for a RB25DET. Here is the link, just follow the 4 steps and it will give you a part number, ring them and go from there. http://www.ngkspark.com.au/part_index.htm?...der/sensors.php The part number is OZA395-E2 and if you ring the number below, they can tell your who in your area has them in stock. The cost is $96. (in Canberra anyway) Sydney Suite 101, 118 Great North Road, Five Dock, NSW 2046, Australia Telephone: (02) 9712 7100
  17. Thanks paulr33, just for everyone's information, I have been informed that the Skyline 2.5t sensor IS THE SAME as the one used in the VL Commodore Turbo.
  18. Hi all, I have been reading the threads on excessive fuel consumption (which applies to me also) and there are heaps of postings in relation to using an o2 sensor from an EL Ford. I spoke to a friend who works on a lot of performance vehicles and he stated NOT to use this, so I am now completely confused. He strongly advised against this sensor because a Turbo motor is so much different to a standard engine. Can anyone please confirm that using this unit will not harm the motor (2.5t).
  19. Hi all, I received with the purchase of the car, 1 x Trust Greedy Limiter Cut Controller which I have no need for. It is for sale for $80 or will swap for a much needed Turbo Timer. Item is located in Canberra
  20. Thanks guys for making me feel welcome. In relation to the acronyms I was talking about, another forum I used to be part of had a "sticky" where most, if not all, acronyms were posted for nubies. I found this to be a extremely helpful when you get the "I dont know to call it but....." thread. It would be a great benefit to myself and others who have become new members.
  21. limmy, if you go to any Auto spares shop you should be able to locate a blank rubber grommet for the boot. They normally carry these in different sizes.
  22. Thanks guys for making me welcome. I have been looking through all the tuts on maintance etc but being new, I am lost in all the acronyms. Can anyone fill me in on what they are, I know ECU and AFM but there are others that have me scratching my head.
