Gtst With Gtr Guards.....how Wide Can I Go
candy33 replied to nsta's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Most of the bog you see was sanded off, you need to use bog regardless for a seamles finish and strength. The fibreglass guards was chopped of either side to allow for a blend. Then the metal was roughten up and the lip rolled and folded out. Sikaflex the guard on and screw in. When sikaflex dries remove screws. Scuff the surrounding area to bare metal Then fibreglass was then applied to the area (between the guard and the add-on guard). Scuff up fibreglass. Apply good high viscosity filler over the fibreglass and joint and wherever necessary to blend. When perfect High fill -
Not all jestpeed kits are consistant in different states. All i know is that the NSW jetspeed makes there kits on site in australia and that they are good. And the guys in vic SA are just resellers or using the jetspeed name. Anyway i still reckon the DMD kits are the best you can get for the money.

Here are some pics of the guards in the early stage of molding in and yet to be sanded and shaped. I will post pics of the completed guard once finished. -
Difference Between Series 1 And 2 Headlights + Jun Bodykit
candy33 replied to R33_Rob's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
I just modified a S2 bar to fit my series 1. the headlights are slighlty wider and the grill area is more shallow. Quite straightfoward to make fit. -
Silent is exactly right. Go for a DMD, monkey warehouse or jetspeed kit. Dont buy a cheap kit, coz in the long run it will cost you more to fix and fit than to buy superior quality stuff.
-
Im on taylors rd all the time, my car is also burgundy but has a white bodykit on it. Any idea of what rims or bodykit he has, i might know him
-
I agree with (Silent), most of the kits are crap quality, but it really depends on the molds. And nowadays clients aren't willing to pay $1,000+ for a kit because these chinese kits keep undercutting prices. Go Jetspeed Syd, DMD or makspeed for quality gear.
-
That front bar is actually a S15 M-Sports bar customised to fit a R33. THe actual R33 M-sports is much different with a smaller opening. Carmates products are crap and expensive, if you want a good kit go to Makspeed, extreme kits or DMD

The owner of speeddreamz and Gforce are not the same company. They both resell the same products from the head company in China. Speeddreamz have very poor organisational skills and seem to scam everyone. The guy at GFORCE is abit of a prick, but you will get the item. What i can say is their products are much better than those made by (Fibre creations) sold by VIVAGARAGE and MOTORKITZ etc.
-
Ive brought through them both many times in large quantities. There quality of products vary , but their new stuff in flexi glass is quite good. I would reccomend you to buy through Avi at GFORCE as they are much more relaible and ship out next working day. Speeddreamz on the other hand distribrute the same products but they tend to forget about orders or lie about how long things take to deliver, when they say 2 days think 2 weeks. THere workers also have no clue of what there doing. Buy through Gforce mate, ive had no problems with them. If your in Melbourne i can get you the same item at the same price as them. Tai

The clear coat is the last step all you do is let it dry or get it baked. You may buff it after a few weeks, using high grit wet and dry sand paper and a cutting agent like (MANWHORE) said.

C&D motorwork in Sunshine have there own 4wd dyno, and tune heaps of skylines. I always see several different skylines dere at any given time. They also have a 407kw r33.

Gtst With Gtr Guards.....how Wide Can I Go
candy33 replied to nsta's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
the guards i got were from topstage in Melbourne. They are good guards if you just intend to rivet on, but if you mould it on, its quite a labourous task and really quite expensive at $400 a pair considering you need to cut off half the fibreglass guard to blend it in properly. I moulded them on myself and at the same time also made it wider above the crease and from the door, because the guards are only marginally wider than stock. It has cost me roughly $500 for the guards and materials with a solid 2 days of work. Ive been qouted by several shops and they were all above $1000. I will post up pics tommorow of the early stages of the guard moulding and then the finished product wen i have a digi cam. -
That aristo wouldnt happen to be the one running on the dyno at my bro's shop last saturday was it?
-
Type M's were a factory upgrade, basically a different front bumper, slightly different bumper indicators, sideskirts and rear pods.
-
I have a Xstreme solid-centre extra heavy duty 6 puck on my r33 gtst, and its fine. The peddle feels almost standard with no slippage at all and ive got 220rwkw. Have had this clutch for over a year. My brothers GTR had the same problem as you using a $2000 full face exedy clutch. Found out that the flywheel wasnt machined properly.

Gtst With Gtr Guards.....how Wide Can I Go

Ive also got thr GTR guards on. I had to lip the old guard and bend it out to make it fit bigger wheels. And also cut off some of the lip on the gtr guard Im running 18x10inch with 265 and a 2 inch spacer and the tyre sits about 2 mm from the gtr guards lip. If i were you i wouldnt bother with the GTR guards, its quite a big job getting them molded on. -
You could take your car to C&D Motorworks, they do heaps of skylines. And High end racing uses their dyno for tuning.

R32 Bn Style Full Bodykit
candy33 replied to candy33's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I can do it for you $600 delivered to Brissy. -
Ive had my R33 for 8 months now on P's and also yet to be pulled over. My car is loud and low with mismatches panels and a hugh cooler up front, no problems at all. Although ive been tailed by the police a few times, they dont pull me over. I think they just check my Rego to see if i have any previous offences, but my records clean so they leave me alone. Just dont drive like a idiot and you should be fine.

Im after a set of springs that are mildly lower than standard. Prefer something stiffer than standard. Would consider a swap for Standard shocks and lowered springs with my KYB non adjustable coilovers, as they are too low for me. Prefer Melbourne for pickup. Thanks
