  1. Here you go... I was caught up out the front explaining a few things to a few people, I did keep saying I got to go take photos... Sorry Dan to cut our conversation short mate, but I needed to get back inside, Ill catch up with you at a dinner some time soon... But here you go Chris, I thought you may have missed this... Well, im not sure about the gay son of rajab bit, but his balls were handed to him... Oh good news guys, im rendering the video atm. So give me 20 minutes to finish it and 20 minutes to upload it... Sorry in advance there is allot of the yellow car in the video...
  2. True... Shootout mode on ramp setting of 5 is the standard dyno comp setting... Anything other than a ramp setting of 5 is un-official, the information is at the bottom of a dyno dynamics print out and easy to spot... Yeah thanks again for understanding... The execs are happy with the day also and I forgot to mention the great behaviour of all of the members and guest who turned up... No skids and no police attention was fantastic... Yes we always want a consistent figure and ramp rate changes does not help this factor... The guys did their best to keep it consistent, but there was a very wide range of cars there from 60rwkw all the way to close to 400rwkw... So unfortunatlly ramp rates did need to be changed... Thats dynos for you, generally in my experience at ever dyno day/night I have been too there is always a heated discussion of the results, i guess its just a part of it all... Lets look forward to another dyno in May, I promise you all it will be dyno dynamics and it will certainlly be 4wd...
  3. You'll be there in no time Jarrad... Yeah at half a bar with a slipping clutch i reckon you did well to get 230rwkw... Cant wait to see her with a new clutch and some more boost... You should catch up and ill have to put some cams in to reclaim bragging rights...
  4. No fortunatlly... But ideas and feedback via PM is always welcome, cant improve unless you know where to improve...
  5. 1259 Nm is at the wheels, so your diff ratio will multiply your real fly wheel NM's... In short find out your rear diff ratio and take thr 1259nm and devide it by the diff ratio to get the fly wheel NM... Simple... Hey Adam, have not be ignoring you just be super busy with photos/video and trying to answer a million questions via PM. Ill give you all the info you need to know in the next few days, but yes in short I have stock cams and a stock inlet manifold. But a few key modifications are needed to push the extra ponnies... I will talk to you soon... Edit... Oh forgot, its a Garret brand GT30 0.7 front cover and 0.82 rear with external wastegate. The trim is standard GT30/40 Garrett issue.
  6. The holden was 173 or 178... It was 170 something...
  7. Agreed, thread cleaned of needless info... Please stick to the topic, of sharing photos/video and good times... Problem with something then PM me, Warrick and I seem to understand each other so im sure i can reason with anyone... Not to say Warrick is un-reasonable, just saying we were able to see each others point. If you have an issue please PM me so we can sort it out for next time to improve the unofficial may dyno night... Heads up tho; At this stage the unofficial host (for may) will be Mercury Motorsport as they have a 4wd "Dyno Dynamics" dyno which is want everyone has requested. I mean to say we need a 4wd one this time and most have asked for it to be a dyno dynamics unit. So Mercury fits that bill. However in saying that we have a few issues to over come with them in terms of Noise and Price. But its in May so Ive got heaps of time to sort it out... We have not used Mercury for over 2 years and im sure they will want us back...
  8. Yeah it was hella funny!!! 180rwkw... Not bad for a two bit skyline wanta be...

Is that 2 pair of boobs as in 4 boobs total... Meaning 2 chicks... or Its that 4 pair of boobs as in 8 boobs total... Meaning 4 chicks... Answers man we demand answers...
  10. Give me time, its taken 3 hours to resize and upload all these photos... Video should be up tonight...
  11. Yeah I see where your coming from Warrick... Its all good... New software was the main issue and Richard was kind enough to let those people run again. All in all when planning the event he was the only workshop under $1500 for the days hire, so this was a major factor when planning. Thanks for coming also, your attendance and all others its what makes it. In the mean time look forward to the May dyno night... We will try a dyno dynamics 4wd setup and ill try my best to keep the cost down as low as possible... Anyways which brings me to my next post... Hold onto your dial up connection peeps...
  12. Why dont you ring Richard and orginise your second run for some time during the week??? Its not anyones fault that you left before having a second run, we had 37 cars to dyno and some people had to get going, one guy didnt even get to run as he had to go to work... Rather than taking a negitive view of this matter why not use that energy and try and make something positive from it. Take the time to jump on the phone with Richard and tell him you didnt get a second chance and if its possible to do it next Satureday or when its suitable for both parties? Dont get me wrong Warrick I understand your frustration, but understand my frustration in trying to make everyone happy. As an events orginiser (official or non-official) you dont get the positive feedback you only ever get the negitive and its a downer, makes you not want to bother taking the effort and doing it again... But I do it for the users/member, as I know many enjoy these days... Further note, it has already been stated that a 4wd dyno dynamics dyno will be used in the May dyno night, more for the GTR buys than anything but also to show some divercity in figures...
  13. Yes, its kw's at the rear wheels... As for AWD Dynos, the GTRs running 4wd mode would achieve a low all wheel KW figure over a rwkw figure. Do to loss in heat via friction in the transfer case/half shafts/hubs/extra 2 wheels... IE> Ians GTR ran 208rwkw, in AWD he would probablly achieve 170-175kw at all 4 wheels... Awsome Franky...
  14. Hey Noel, I guess when you run an event with more than 150 people turning up and over 70 skylines out in the street. Your always gonna have one or two people complain about something. I dont mind, Id rather they air their thoughts rather than bottle them up and not say anything. As this helps plan bigger and better events next time. I think over all 99% of the people who attended had fun and enjoyed the day. As I only had 3 complaints and all related to the dynos readings. As for the figures, Ive decided not to get into the figures battle. The explaination I have to offer may only cause more confusion. Cause after all the idea of using Richard again was to compair last years figures to this years. Hence using the same dyno. So to me it was more about checking how far we have come and what improvements we have all made. When you stick 35 cars on a dyno, it may not give eveyone the figure they thought they had. But it does show car for car where you sit in the pecking order of power. That R32 4 door with RB26dett and my car just kept spinning the wheels and never put down a perfect run. My 5th gear run in the afternoon gave a result of 301rwkw, now 5th gear has a lower ratio. So using maths I actually scored around 340-345rwkw if it were a 4th gear run and it still spun the wheels and still didnt get to redline before it broke traction. So I am personally keen to run a dyno dynamics in shoot out just to get a clear no wheel spin run at 19psi to see if the 350rwkw barrier can be cracked... I have rubber all up my guards from the tyres spinning on the rollers. Food for thought tho, if a workshop was to bump the figures up on their dyno. This would have 2 affects. 1. Customers who dont know much about cars would return to said workshop for more work in the future as the figures they get given are very very good. Hence that person will think they are doing a super job and continue to return. 2. A dyno that reads high will have every man and his dog getting a print out for bragging rights. Again, every dyno will read different as I proved last dyno day when my car hit 3 dynos in one day and have a varience from 178rwkw all the way to 223rwkw on the same day on the same tank of fuel same boost and similar air temps... Once again, we used Richard as in the past we have used his dyno for a benchmark. As any mechanic will tell you the dyno does not have to be accurate at all to do its job. You jump on the dyno and get a base line run then you go away and work on the car and then come back and see the difference and measure the improvement this way. Last of all yes Dave this is true. The dyno was serviced and calibrated 9 days ago now and was made spot on the money. As for the first 5 cars reading low, this was due to the wrong software being loaded. Dyno logic gave them updated software and Dan loaded the old stuff with the new calbiration. So the first couple of cars got a second run due to this fact. Im not sticking up for Richard here, Im simply stating that a dyno is for testing improvements they are not perfect for overall dyno figures. If you want an absolute perfect reading id suggest going to GT Auto as they have a hub dyno made for 1000kw vechicles and have no chance of wheel spin. These units are considered to be the most accurate on the market. But we could not use it for a dyno day as you need to take the wheels off and bolt up the hubs. Which with even 10 cars it would be hard to do in one day. To be honest, I only saw 2 cars figures that I thought were low in my mind. But factors like bad batch of fuel or hot intake temps due to heat soak or even a slipping clutch could cause low read outs... Thank you all for reading this far, if you have any questions about "ramping" or "Motec correction" Id be happy to answer your dyno questions. As I went through a huge dyno education last year before the MAY dyno day so I could understand more about how they work and what settings do what... I dont call myself a dyno expert but I can say I do know a far bit about them and would be happy to ease some querys.

A full explaination as to ramp rate and how a dyno logic dyno works will be posted up once i get the chance. Please dont jump on the band wagon about how high ro low this dyno reads. As this dyno was serviced and benchmarked only 8 days ago. So please dont jump onto the band wagon about the figures until you understand all factors involved in giving a reading. In the mean time feel free to discuss the matter...
  16. All results and pictures and video is being worked on atm... In the mean time ill move these posts to the new dyno day discussion thread in the general qld section... But before closing this thread, a big thanks to everyone for coming along. Huge thanks to the sau exec crew for the bbq and handling all the payments and the like. Huge thanks to Richard and the Allstar crew for hosting an awsome day. Thank you all.
  17. thanks for the vote of confidence there shane... Im gonna bed, i have to wash my car in the morning... Bye
  18. Thanks for your support there Shane... Thanks... I will pwn you both...
  19. Yeah, see last year i only ran 198rwkw... So hopefully i canbreak that record...
