Yeah so anyways, back to the topic at hand... Ill probablly be there, however as explained in the other drag thread Im a little worried about this 130mph rule... So ill let you all know as soon as I can clear things up and get my slicks of course... No one wants to see me doing skids half way down the track again... It was fun tho...

I have been doing some research tonight and found this on willowbanks website; I was telling Shane last night, when I ran my 131mph pass an official met me at the bottom of the tower he looked in the car and noted on the time slip that there was no roll cage or harness. He then said if I break 130mph again than I would be asked to cease the event... NOTE: I thought at the time he said 135mph and thats what I was talking about with Shane as I had not heard that rule before... But the guy did mumble a bit, he may have said 130mph He grabbed all my info at the time and took details like rego and colour and basic description of the car, he also kept my time slip putting all the info on the back of it and said to email to get a copy fo the slip... Now i found this above about needing a 5 point harness... :Worried: I dont want to put a 5 point harness in, and I will have to change the seat and probablly put a cage in to make it all work properly... What do you guys think???

Boost Cruising paid for the event in September last year... I spoke to Nick about the whole setup before I presented the idea the first time... EDIT: 80 cars at $85.25 each... Both last November and this April... They are doing it again this year (90cars at $85each), but with sponcers to lower the cost back to what last years cost... But still thats $85 per car for a max of 9-10 runs considering no accidents... If you read into their rain out policy you will see that there are some pot holes you could hit if it rains half way throught the event... If it rains prior to half way you recieve 30% refund, if it rains after half way you recieve no refund...
-
Yeah, I wish I could tell you the whole story... Its very long and boring, Noel and Adam had to hear about it all over dinner the other night... Ill come out soon...
-
Not raining on your parade but do you think you could get 115 cars all to pay $100 each...??? So they might get up to 10 runs each if nothing goes wrong... ie. Track clean up's from dropped oil... Why would someone not go to a test and tune where there is tops of 150 cars (Wednesday event) and pay $36??? Tnt on a Wednesday you will get up to 6-7 runs if nothing goes wrong... ie. Track clean up's from dropped oil...
-
Yeah i hope so... Ill have a chat to them tomorrow... The guy with the EAT IT Silvia was able to spin his 255's and i think he is on similar power... So ill make a phoen call and see what they suggest... I would ideally love to use stock 16" skyline rims, so the 225's would be the go, but I may need the width...
-
Yeah my 131mph pass was a 2.8 60 foot and i missed 2nd gear for a split second...
-
Yeah looked into it twice now... 2006 price was $7900inc GST for 9am til 4pm - Saturday Only 2007 price is $11500inc GST for 9am til 4pm - Saturday Only 2006 price was $6100 inc GST for 10am til 5pm - Mon, Wed or Thur Only 2007 price is $11500inc GST for 10am til 5pm - Mon, Wed or Thur Only *$1200inc GST extra is you want traction compound layed down also... Ill let you do the math... Short story, Impossible... The exec did discuss the matter at the start of the year after i got pricing for the track hire. The idea was passed to Paul Ruzic to see if "Time Attack" could possiblly run the event, but its double what a track day costs, so you would be looking at $260-$300 per car assuming the same number of cars attend... So based on those figures, its Impossible...

True... My advice, and I may still be there, Ill see what Mickey Thompson have to say... Anyways my advice, aim to be there at 3:45-3:50... As on Saturdays there is generally private track hire during the day, so the gates are already open. So you will beat the crowd in the gates. Then go straight to the shelter at the end of the staging lanes and get your helmet checked and your stamp applied, number on your car and then line up straight away... Remember to pick a empty lane to assure you one of the first runs... Then get your time slip and get back around straight away and generally you will get to run again instanlly... Then get back round one more time and you will probablly only have to wait 10-15 minutes... By the time you have finished this run there will be over 200 cars there and you will be waiting more than an hour for your next run... So now is a good time to take a break, grab an icey cold coke and sit in the stands with your camera and enjoy the event... Then once the sun goes down and your itchen for another run, go and do it again... You should have time for another 2 runs after 6pm, but be prepaired to wait over an hour and a half for one of these runs...

Come on Anna tell the truth, you like them grubby... I mean to say you love cleaning up dont you... I reckon you make mess just so you can clean it up... Dont you admit it... HAHAHAHAHA So going to Truck driving school is out of the question??? HAHAHAHAHA Josh the trucker... So if you replace s3x with PS2 would he still be happy??? Tell me about it... You have not idea how many times I have asked that question in the last 2 years... PS. The police removed my tenent at Chermside last Monday, short story, it was nasty...

Yeah i ran 113,114,121,131mph across the 4 runs... The 131mph pass was made on 18 psi through 1st and 2nd and then scramble boost at 21psi for 3rd and 4th... She pingged her tits off... So it was not a healty run and the check engine light flashed and knock reached 93 so I wont be doing that again with out some extra RON in the fuel tank like C16... 121mph was the best I could do with 18psi through all gears... I know the car has 10's in it... It just I cant get the power down, i need to buy some nice wide slicks... Ill be calling Mickey Tompson tomorrow for some advice before going out and buying anything... Ill give them my cars specs and let them tell me what needs to be done in terms of rubber/rims... I have heard too many stories about low profile slicks not being any good, so 16" is the smallest rims a R33 can fit, so ill let them tell me what to do. Im open to any advice they wanta give me... I thought about street slicks but i think im gonna need every little bit of rubber so im keen to go for full ET Slicks... I hope so, but my next worry is that im gonna snap something, like the axels or a tail shaft or something... Ill let you guys know what M<ickey Thompson have to say...
-
Im disapointed in the amount of runs everyone got... There was one guy in a VS ute I was talking to never even got one run... I feel sorry or those who only got 2 or 3... I got 4 in total and the first 3 i got were all within 20 minutes right at the start of the day... Im out for the 17th sorry guys, too bigger crowd and not enough value. Plus the tin tops will be there for practice... So basiclly you would be lucky to get 3 runs on the 17th if there is no stops... But I reckon you will be lucky to get 2 runs total...
-
Arhhh that was the one I went throught too then... Well the police just waved me through with my HID head lights and rear guards that were full of rubber... um the best over ET was a 13.2 @ 122mph... the best mph was 13.6 @ 131mph... Ill let you know...

My thoughts go out to his family... Drag racing is a dangerous sport and I think this is a reminder of that fact... Im unsure which car was the one that ended the night, but I had a close look at a few of the rail cars and saw the drivers of all three prepairing for their runs... Its sad to think they were right there and 100% healthy only minutes before they ran... My thoughts go out to the families... As for the road block, i didnt see any. However when I went past Harveys Everton Park on the way home there was a police road block with just 2 cops they were looking for something but im un sure what... The cop just waved me throught the road block... As for the night, I was warned by the tower if I go any faster Im gonna get pulled from the event and made to comply with the rules... I ran a 131mph and they gave me a verbal warning if I break 135 I would be pulled for the rest of the everning... WOW I got a 131mph with a 13 second pass... Fast car... NOT...

Yeah I my fastest Trap speed was 131mph so im really happy with that But yes my 60,330 & 660ft times were very disapointing... Col = No traction Jarrad = No Clutch, No Traction Yes i hope so too, it would be a real bummer... That silvia of yours was very impressive... Can I ask were you defected for the slicks??? Also what size slicks are you running??? Are they the full slicks or the street slicks with a few grooves in them... Im out for the 17th as a competitor, ill probablly come and watch... Last night there was over 250 cars registered and running and that was too many... I spoke to an official and he said that the 17th will be even harder to get runs as they have "tin top" practice on that night also, so there is gonna be like 20 plus V8 pro cars dropping oil everywhere so there will be even more stops for cleaning... Thumbs down for Saturday tnt's Agreed Agreed
