Awsome cruise, great to take old yella out for a real drive and put some km's on the clock... Thanks for the invitation Adam... I got fish and chips on the way home too, as I needed it... Sidenote: Great to see a Canon user out there Kevin... However how could you use ISO1600 even at night... Didn't the camera shooting at 1/4000 of a second and f7.1 give you a hint that the ISO was set high... You need a 580ex or two and maby some f1.8/2.8 glass... Can I suggest for $$$ get a EF50mm F1.8 (RRP is $149 and they are us usefull) Also once the $$$ are saved get a 17-55 f2.8 (RRP $1999) Also if your into the trackdays and the drag strip then its hard to go past the 28-300LIS f3.5-5.6 (However they are $4399) These recomendadions are assuming you using a 350/400D, as once you upgrade to a 30d it would be 1 to 1.3 and 5d these len's become 1 to 1. Warning tho, once you go to L series there is no turning back... :Shameless plug for canon profesional DSLR products:

Yes, also true however it does not cause any trouble within the community... Also I might add that any sponcers would have no traction in complaining in the general QLD section unless they were forum sponcers. As club sponcers and fourm sponcers/business traders are two different things... 'No conflict' is right at the top of my list, as long as most people are happy then im happy... Yes being a mod, you seen to be the bad guy however its always in the best intrests of the users... If it were a 50/50 matter or even if there were doubt another moderator would be involved to help give a clear unbias rulling...
-
True, thats what I mean by when Im talking about forums, their all about differences of opinions... Without this it would be as boring as a plain old instructional website...

Firstlly stop fighting each other, none of you are getting anywhere... Mud created this thread to try and curve the wasted bandwidth and the work for the mods, the topic quality has gone backwards over the year and yes the mods today are far easier to work with and let allot of stuf just fly. However in saying that this topic was to point out that heavier moderator will be making a come back. Posting rules, well they are pretty simple... If its to do with qld in any way shape of form then post it in here, simple... So topics of fish experts in the area is ok, however topics like "what turbo should I buy" belong in the FIP part of the forum. Unless you were asking who could install a turbo in qld, in this case that would be great. As for costs, yes it costs me time. Every moderator spends on average 3 to 4 hours a day on here. I have also donated to the forums out of my pocket to see it keep going stong. Christians personal expense is in the tens of thousands and I love to help him and support him where ever i can as he is a top bloke. So if binning a few needless threads helps, then in the bin they go. However in saying that, dont feel like you canot post in the qld section. By all means please do i encourage you all to take an active part and I enjoy reading your stuff. This is a fourm after all and as a forum its open for discussion, let it never be said that we would silence an opinion. Please use common sence, some people seem to lack common sence sometimes hence why there are moderators. Please think about what you want to post and think to yourself is this the right area??? If so then post away, if a topic gets moved it does not mean we hate you. We are simplly doing our job. I asked Mud to open it, so users could ask questions, as this is a forum im all for hearing two sides to a story. Please also remember this is a forum, and as a forum you will recieve differences of opinion. Its the ability to post a view on a topic that makes it a forum. With out the users differences of opinion we would all be robots following the same path. Forum = sanity Incorrect, complaints closed your thread. To which that was one of them. In the past a moderator would not offer you an explination to a thread closure, they would simplly close it and if you complained in the public forum you would be banned, if you continued you would be banned. I have to aggree it was simpler back then, however Mud, Squizz, Revhead and I all believe in the forum community in sharing their opinions. Like many other threads that get closed from any user not just you. Generally threads are closed due to complaints not the moderators being mean. As I also said to you in the past which to seem to always forget, its only closed not moved to the bin, so you can refer as many people as you want to the thread for reference. If the mods were so against you we would have deleted it for good. Anyway back to it, this thread is not a place for you to beat each other up. Its here to help, dont abuse our kindness in leaving this thread open for discussion. A hard arse moderator would just keep closing threads and moving topics with no explination. Im all for education, if a user makes the same mistake many times. I take it apon myself to help point them in the right direction. Ive been here long enough to know where everything is, and i recieve 5-10 pm's a day for assistance. Please pm me if you have a curlly one, i dont mind at all. Cheers Col

Oh oh me first... Car: R33 S2 GTS-T Turbo: GT30 High Mount with external gate Tyres: 255/40/17 Yum-Cha's @ 30psi Date: 03/03/07 Time: 4:40pm Track: Willowbank Output in rwkw: 300+rwkw Air Temp: 27 Deg Track Temp: 40 Deg Humidity: 65% Reaction time: 0.944 60ft: 3.001 330ft: 7.085 660ft: 9.306 1000ft: 11.366 ET: 13.369 MPH: 121 Comments: Was a poor run, its the best official run I have had to date. I had wheel spin until 3rd gear, I could not launch the car and at a 120mph pass it could have been as good as a low 11. I will be buying a slick tyre before my next run at the drags. As you can see by my 60ft time, to even run a 13 with a 3 second 60 ft is pretty good. Most 3 second 60ft'er would run a high 16 quarter so it shows how quick it pulls once traction is achieved... I should also add, I had a bad batch of fuel and fouled plugs and the car was pinging pretty badlly at the top end of the track and the engine check light flashed a few times with a knock level of 96 which is bad, but it was the fuel as the very next day I filled back up and cleaned the plugs and no problems at all... Later the same night I ran a 131mph and recieved a warning about my speed, but the et was even worse, it was like a 14 second quarter with a 4 second 60ft time... So as I said, its now time to spend some money on getting that power to the ground and breaking into the 11's then with fine tuning a 10 is possible...

Understatement of the year!!! Words cannot describe the half a chubby everyone in the crowd had, even the chicks... It was off the hook, i want one of them... (a chubby that is)
-
I also went the GT30/40 it is quite drivable round town, but when you put the hammer down you better hang on... Also spend some money on tyres, either buy loads of cheap ones, or get some DOT apporved semi slicks as 270+rwkw becomes tail happy...
-
Also I have to add, there was no accidents and no stops tonight... So it was one of the best Saturday night events ive been too... Apart from the Harley Boys getting preference all the time and getting like every second run (but who would complain as they are big, hairy and have many tattoo's), once they left the runs seemed to flow nicelly... Adam (devils) you left too early, you coudl have got another 2 or 3 in before 9pm... Arrrr well...

Nice night out, really enjoyed the 8 second action from that Series 6 RX7... WOW... Got to catch up with the regular TnT gang... Plus I got valuable info from the on of the ford boys on tyres and rims to use for my car as he had a similar power output... He ran a 11.09 @ 129mph with a 330rwkw XR6T and made some huge smoke so I think i know what ill be buying now... FYI ----> MT ET Radials 255/60/16 and run about 17-18psi tyre pressure... Edit: Ill add some photos later...

Too hard to un-merge the threads, there are little issues with the forum upgrade which is being quite touchy... Anyway, Adam has re-created the thread here ----> Click Here And as this old thread is no longer needed, Closed and please use the above thread. Thanks.

There is an officer at Bondall with a supercharged GT-P Falcon... Its damn sweet car, pitty it cost more than 80k... I think ford hit the button with Brembos and a chunky V8 in the same package... But to then turn around and modify the 290kw Boss motor with a factory warranty into a 450rwkw monter is a whole nother thing... Also I can confirm a uniformed police officer in a STI and another in an R32 GTR... Remember they are people too, and there would be a few with similar tastes to the general public when it comes to cars... I know if i were a cop id still be driving a skyline... May want to reference the "Official cop car registar" also, as it needs an update on this information...
