  1. 2860 -5 greddy hard pipe kit, wolf v500 ecu, 19psi, 346kw at the wheels, no shuffle at all.
  2. when you look at what the wolf can do, i'd say it's awesome. better then haltech and motec doesn't have much on it. but for the price i wouldn't consider motec unless your rolling in dosh
  3. i've been looking at those engine moniters, can anyone tell me how much they are, and do they come with everything you need. also are they setup to only interface with the vipec ecu, or can it be adapted to other ecu's?
  4. +1 for the wolf. don't seem to have a big following on these forums (or many others) in fact i'm suprised to hear someone else suggest one. but they are f**king awesome. very cheap for what you get. and with lovely abilities like 125rpm increments etc. 1 of the single best mods i did to my gtr. and i came from a pitts tuned power fc to the wolf.

  6. i know i was getting a tune from scratch. first gtr on a wolf v500 that my tuner/mechanic had done. but you are correct. and in a lot of cases this is a very good idea. it's basically the same as having a base map like a power fc etc.
  7. i'm not going to go into what i've spent on tunes. however out of the two they have both been completly from scratch (wolf v500-no base map) and have been unbelievably good. first one was going from a power fc, tuned by pitts, to the wolf v500. now i know which one cost more to tune. but it's worth it. dialling cam gear properly does take time. people that think the tuner will just adjust to where the last 5 motors have liked them need another tuner. but i guess that's the difference you pay for.
  8. give peter at rpm performance a call on 07 54993932. do it before buying your power fc. he'll push the wolf computer insteat and after going the wolf myself (upgraded from pfc) it's well worth the money spent. plus he's the kinda guy to go the extra effort just because he cares. for instance i've been at his shop at 11pm when he's tuning my car. didn't ask him too, or need it urgently, he's just the kinda guy to put the extra effort in simply for the sake of doing it. i must warn you though allow a lot of time when you talk to him. as he'll run through anything you need and happy to explain things if you know what i mean.
  9. because our cars attract attention. and becuase half the skyling drivers in the world are wankers that drift and skid on public streets? it's shit, but it's easy to see how the stereotype came about. and let's face it. 4/5 imports pulled over are probably defectable.

  12. hey dirtgarage. what prices for the engine moniter and what else is needed to hook it up to a car not running the vipec. been looking at these for a little while instead of going the multiple guage route.

  14. +1 for the wolf v500. went from a power fc to the wolf. single best mod i ever did. way more tuning options. much better ecu and still does cold start idle up for air con etc. hell they can even run auto boxes. sure you can't tune it in 30minutes. but what happens when you put quality of tune over speed. i'll pay that bit extra happily

  17. ok so i think your talking about changing fromt 1st, 2nd, then into drive whilst your driving? kinda manually changing it into each gear to keep the revs and noise down? is that what you mean
  18. yeah i went from a pfc to the wolf. major difference. i got out of the tuning real cheap though as my mechanic was having a play with it. we where interested to see the results as no other mods where made except the ecu change. even kept the same pods and first tuned with the afm's just for comparisons sake. made more power, better fuel economy, better throttle responce, kept all the lovely features like idle up for air con etc. interestingly enough apparently with the wolf it can run auto boxes too.
  19. anyone do a comparison between the wolf v500 and the vipec's. i've got the wolf and am more then happy on if (125rpm tuning increments FTW) just curious hell i'm just glad that more and more people are getting over the "OMG it's a power fc it's the best in the world"
  20. just put a bigish thermo on it with a proper shroud. electric fans get a lot of bad rep but personally i reckon most of this is due the people running them unshrouded and not big enough fans. for instance i've been looking at fans for my hilux. the one on it was a 16 inch flowing 1000cfm (i think) yet 2x 10inch fans wouldn't flow even close to that. kinda the same argument such as a single 4 inch pipe will flow more than 2x 2inch pipes by a significant amount, but i get the shits arguing with people about this.
