  1. hope to see something fresh and new rather than the typical shots that every man and his dog takes. even just fresh new viewpoints would rock. heres a pic i took a couple days ago with the kids camera... panos with a full auto point and shoot can be challenging, lol.
  2. Position Vacant Image Melbourne is now hiring - casual position available, 2-3 days a week. We are looking for a photographer with a good understanding of off camera lighting. Sales / customer service or warehouse experience an advantage but not essential. Some heavy lifting is required. Email resumes to [email protected] (i take it the position is in melbourne, so get on it vics)
  3. thats modern point and shoots for you, no talent needed. but... finally found a cure to my OCD was 9 days early, but ah well. almost made it to a year
  4. took the kids for a walk in the hallet cove conservation park today. pretty sweet little walking trails around that place.
  5. Wow, love that shot Rohan. Local?
  6. I lost my bike messenger job so dont head into the city at all any more. It's over an hour away (3 if i ride, lol) but... applied for a commercial cleaning position with a company that specializes in working at heights. if all goes well i'll have access to some crazy views in future and if things go to plan i'll be able to look into specializing in photography at heights.
  7. i like the shot of the pelican in flight. just dont show any professional bird shooters, they will have a cry that its a 'butt' shot (i learnt that the hard way, haha) your beaches look a lot more interesting then our beaches. love the old jetty!
  8. cheers man. i much prefer the first one tho, seeing as ive been in a 'negative space' mood lately
  9. murray river red gums. Took the kids bowling today and then for a walk on the beach. Found this mossy rock. this is what you can see behind the rock, shot from above (and shot dark so its a bit easier to see)
  10. That's the plan, only this time I wont forget the charger
  11. ^haha, thats awesome Sidd. Such a knack for capturing great moments
  12. yeah manual focus will help. by all means use auto to dial it in but switch it off before you take the shot. otherwise the camera will try and do its own thing usually.
  13. did you have the lens on auto or manual focus? if it was on auto it might have shifted just a tad when you used the remote? the ships being in focus but not the buildings would likely be because of the shallow depth of field you get from an f4.5 aperture
  14. took the kids to our shack on the murray river. some crazy looking trees there. NEED to go back soon tho, there is this old abandoned 100+ y.o. house that I want to take a shot of, just didnt get around to it this time.
  15. howdy. you took the pic at a nce time and got some awesome colors, but... looks like the focus is off a little. could be a little shake (even though it must have been on a tripod) from when you pressed the shutter. use 2 second self timer to help eliminate that. i noticed you used f4.8, for landscapes I'd use something a fair bit higher, from around 8-22 which will also help a little if you still have problems with focusing.
  16. Probably why I failed so bad, haha. Meh, I'm a collector not a photographer.
  17. what are you worried about, that shot beats some of the sunset pics ive seen taken with expensive DSLR's, lol
  18. hey cheers man, but its just Beach Road in Morphett Vale. it may as well be some deserted stretch of highway tho, what with the amount of time it takes to get into the city and all
  19. this place is called Marino Rocks. Not sure why early start
  20. cheers. it was just a bit of afternoon sunlight sneeking through a small opening in the curtains. and thanks wilorichie, ive applied at a few places. not that i wont enjoy the time off between jobs, so many graff spots to go and catch up on that i never had the time to visit while working (and my weekends are for the kids only)
  21. sorry, double post again *sigh* yo pistol-pete, dont drop it! found out i wont have a job from next week, lol. so looks like im packing away the bike and dusting off the resume and looking for work as a cleaner (pardon the pun, haha)
  22. That's awesome Rohan. Where was it taken?
  23. probably, i was sitting in the young street car park watching the trucks getting loaded (lol) for a while. monos on fixies are scary, haha. no back brake to help bring the front down if it gets a bit hairy, you just gotta stay committed.
  24. The feel of the shot is awesome, the lighting is beautiful
  25. sorry, double post. i love my bike. best $500 i ever spent as each year it will earn me $25k working just 3 days a week. now if only i wasnt so lazy, i really should have either cleaned that bird shit off the shed or cloned it out in photoshop, haha
