Only flaw would be the the actual water would heat up quickly too, so you'd need an exchanger for the water which is like a radiator, but like you said, in drifting you don't always have constant air flow. So that means you dont have airflow to the radiator, the intercooler, the oil cooler, and the heat exchanger which is need to cool down oil temps. You could try something with an ice box in the boot maybe?

Carcare - Post your products and methods
redline2003 posted a topic in General Automotive Discussion
I dont know if this should be in the General Maintainence section but here it goes. Post up what products you use and the methods when you clean your car. Exterior, interior, engine bay, rims, wheel arches everything. What sponges, shampoos, brushes etc you use. Synthetic or non-synthetic. Thanx guys. -
I also wanted to do the same thing. I dreampt of installing high mount turbos, fabricating manifolds and piping, rebuilding whole engines etc. I wanted to do this because i have a passion for cars. But i decided against this, mainly because it would be a minimum of 8 years before id be fully qualified and paid, and even then i wouldnt be running my own workshop. I also just bought a late model nissan turbo car and need a fair bit of money, something full time study and/or mechanic apprenticeship cant provide. I want to be able to enjoy my youth. I believe it is VERY hard to have a job that you wake up wanting to do every morning. Even race car drivers get VERY frastrated with their job as they arnt performing to a good standard. I've spoken to a few guys who work with performance cars and do the things i wanted to do and most of them look at their job as just that, a job(they hate what they do). So i picked something with good potential to make money, actually has jobs available in Australia and the ability to create my own business very easily and cost effectively(no physical shop/site), and get paid good money in the mean time to pay for my mods and other needs and wants. Maybe this isnt what you want to hear but it might be good if you listen to it. If you really want to do this then an apprenticeship in auto mechanics then a mech/auto engineering course followed by a Fabrication course(held at various TAFEs) would pretty much prepare you to get started on working in a performance workshop. I think finding an apprenticeship at a performance workshop like say ICE or Racepace would be like finding hen's teeth, simply because they take on qualified and expierenced mechanics who know their way around engines. An apprentice wouldnt really have a place there. An apprentice would mainly be doing servicing, cleaning, maybe repairing a bit, etc. Try get an apprentice in a workshop specialising in prestige cars(mercs, porsches, etc) as they are a fair bit more engineered then say camry's etc. But dont take my word for it, keep trying as it wont hurt, just make sure you do your research about it and your not misinformed. Good luck with it.

Aftermarket intake plenum for R34 GTT?
redline2003 replied to Downforce's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Didnt the JMS r33 have a R34 NEO engine in it with a Greddy/Trust inlet plenum?? Thats what it says in my SPEED magazine bro. -
Just curious as to what airbox Driver has installed of his car, custom or aftermarket??
-
Does it hit boost at the same time as the standard turbo? If it does hit somewhere near standard then thats gotta be a good choice. Was that with cams?
-
Was that CO2? I always thought it was NAAAAAAAWWWWWWSSSSS(NOS) lol. I'm pretty sure it was NOS bro, when the white vapour shoots out its called 'NOS purge' or something along those lines. By the way CO2 can be used as an intercooler spray and in water injection where CO2 is shot directly before the throttle body, further cooling down inlet temps, i'd prefer Aquamist which uses normal water to a similar effect.

[INFO] Before & After GCG Turbo Hi-Flow
redline2003 replied to juicen's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Nice man, Looks friggen brand new and it would be stronger cause its rebuilt, but for all the costs i would prefer me a HKS GTRS but each to their own. Should make good power out of the high flowed unit. -

R33 GTR V-Spec 97 Series 3

Yeh pics would be good. -
Very nice result in my opinion. It seems the GT-RS is one of the best turbos to get for 250RWKW with decent spool time.

Was just on the RACQ website getting a quote for a potential car i'am looking at and i noticed this: Motorists shopping for imported passenger cars in the coming month are being urged to ensure they receive the maximum possible benefit from a January 1 tariff cut. The state’s peak motoring body, the RACQ, said that from new year’s day the applicable import tariff on these vehicles would drop from 15 to 10 percent of their landed cost. The tariff cut would reduce the price of many popular imported cars by between $500 and $3000, depending on their landed cost. RACQ external relations general manager, Gary Fites, says people ordering a 2005-plated imported car this month for delivery in January should reasonably expect a price reduction on the vehicle. At least one importer, Mazda, had already reduced its prices. “Hopefully this will encourage other car companies to follow suit,” Mr Fites said. “In fact, we’d expect dealers still with 2004 stock to be even more negotiable on the pricing of these models, given that many prospective buyers would otherwise be keen to wait until the new year to buy a 2005 model at a reduced price.”(Taken off RACQ insurance website). I also read in my economics book that the Australian Government would be dropping tariffs on automobiles to 10%, so this is good news for alot of people. My question is does it apply to buyers of second hand cars imported from japan(like r33's, 180s ,etc). If it does then it would be a very welcomed change.

Dealer admits truth about Japanese klm's.

I went to go lok at a r34 around melbourne which claimed to have 20000kms for a very good price(31K). I go to check it out, using the tutorial of 'buying a skyline' i managed to find overspray on the back right back light(sign of a respray/accident). I also looked hard at the interior, the clock said 20000kms, the gear knob said about 200000lms, this thing had no leather left on it at all, that doesnt happen unless the car is driven either alot or driven hard. One wierd thing is that it had a momo airbag steering wheel and instead of the guage cluster there was a popup tv, he said they were factory options, could the whole dash have been replaced???? The seller was an importer too....i left straight away. -
Do they make similar stuff for SR's and RB25's?
-
Lol nice looking parts there, what brand are they, i assume they are for the GTR? I take back my statement, but was refering to the HKS etc split dump for SR20's.
-
CES dump pipe in my opinion(which isnt professional in anyway) because: - the wastegate pipe is longer than 20cm, which reduces turbulence in the gases - the wastegate pipe enters in smoothly when it reconnects, flowing with the exhaust gas, rather then clashing with it. All these 'seem' to make boost come on quicker, better response etc. The jap dump/fronts ive seen are either: -single dump(no split) -have a seperate pipe for the wastegate but is much too short -the wastegate pipe connects at an almost right angle Like i said, im no mechanic or engineer, i would love to believe that jap brands are better for jap cars, i dont mind paying the extra for a quality product.
-
It surprises me VERY much that many japanese tuning shops STILL dont make proper split dump(and front) pipes, I would have expected alot more, given their so called research and development, I used to have alot of faith in japanese products. Good to see an Australian company can make a superior product for a turbo car....

So if a 95 model skyline comes in showing 60000KM's, what is it really showing(more rhetorical question), i would be afraid to find out. How the hell can someone drive their car that much in Japan, its so tiny. -
What about those diffs that are have adjustable diffs made by Nizmo? Exactly how can they be adjusted, will it eliminate the skipping of the wheels at slow tight corners? It would be nice to maintain factory manners for daily driving.
