  1. It will look good man, Im thinking of setting up my own direct phone line (like the batphone...hahaha)to Chris' shop cause ive been getting so much stuff done there at the moment
  2. You will be very happy with Chris' powdercoating mate, what colour are you going with?
  3. You just reminded me I forgot to remove my hicas warning light, bugger
  4. Forget that last bit, just re read you have the 71r sorry
  5. I'm no expert but I'd go for the hks .68 setup IF you can source one. Stao's .86 will get you there but you will loose response. Plus and somebody correct me if I'm wrong hypergears rears will still have the 6 bolt standard pattern yeh? Hasn't that been known to cause boost control issues, same as the AVO rear? Yours is the 2835 kai yeh? Edit: for a 2835 it seems pretty low power wise, I mean a gtrs makes around 250 and the 2835 is meant to be the next step up. You sure there is not something else afoot with your car.
  6. Yeh just sand it back LIGHTLY, had the same thing happen a couple of years ago with the BOV flange on the crossover pipe, sanded it back and whacked a new gasket on it and no dramas. It's very important to keep the surface flat though otherwise you'll be in for a world of hurt with leaks that will never go away. Whoever coated it should have masked up the gasket surfaces, even if it was mates rate
  7. Yeah I hear ya, i was lucky enough to have nice rims on the car when i bought it. Thought I new your car. Once project GR33DD is finished come say g'day when you see me around. Finally I'm not the only skyline in dural surrounded by the v8 crews
  8. I've seen you around Dural before (near round corner maybe) I think it's you anyway. Nice ride man, have you always had those rims? Are they the Rotas or the proper jap ones? Won't be for a while but keep you eye out for the red 33 below and come say g'day.
  9. Nice ride mate, welcome to SAU.............I have a series 3 interior just not the rest of the car lol
  10. Hahahaha, super keen or super crazy?????? I seem to always get bogged down with the little things. And don't worry Chris you should know by now I'll have plenty of questions. Was gonna start the brakes tonight but I can't seem to find my lock nut key and special wheel nut key (it has a thinner wall than a normal socket) grrrrrrrrrrr. I put it somewhere when I swapped the interior and can't remember where, obviously it's in a really "safe" spot lol
  11. Very small update, Spent most nights last week and Friday and tonight prepping the runners for more powdercoating (I think I have a coating addiction ) I forgot how much of a bitch removing all the cast marks is! My fingers are sore and I can taste metal....hahahaha A couple of pics Before After Its not a perfect finish as I started to get the sh!ts with it but it will do, hopefully once Chris adds the primer and the coating it will come out ok. So its just the runners and the thermostat housing to be coated and thats it......I hope. Im gonna have to tell Craved to cut me off or the car will never get finished I have to take one of my intercoller pipes to him to have the silver removed as I had a brain fade and need to get a couple of 90 degree bends welded on so it mates up with the plazmaman, a real shame look how pretty it is. Im off for a work trip again so Ill update when I get back
  12. Thanks Neil, I'm trying to get it all done but it's taking sooo long. I wanna get things right this time round and work is hammering me, I've got to go away for around three weeks on Monday so it'll stop again. I'm trying to make wakie but I don't think it will happen. Yeah the fuel filter is in a bitch of a spot, it would be the perfect place for the oil filter relocation. You've got me thinking now haha The boys at Plazmaman are good fellas and looked after me (cash goes a long way wink wink) but make sure you specify your piping size mate as it completely slipped my mind and I got 3" instead of 2.5 for the small pipe off the throttle body and the next piece that goes into the guard so I'm thinking of just running 3" on the entire cold side but I'm worried I'll loose some throttle response which is the whole reason I went with a forward facin plenum in the first place.
  13. Nah we've gone and ruined it know with all this HKS Turbo talk.......hahahaha Can't wait to get mine on
  14. Will do Ryan, I actually couldn't find a cf bonnet much cheaper and I do like the design of this one. The guys at Just Jap assured me it will be a good fit and said the only problem they have seen on the S2 version is one that was not wide enough by a couple of mm which I can live with. I will be painting it anyway so I'm not to worried about shininess
  15. Yeah fair enough, other than that you happy with the KAI or would you rather the pro s? This has gone off topic hasnt it......haha
  16. Well its been a long time but Im glad to say I can post an update albeit a small one. Ive managed to be able to stay home for a few weeks so i've been getting into it as much as is possible with a young family and a small farm to look after. I got the rust cut out of the boot and they did a very good job of it, even sprayed it red inside for me which is a bonus and added a new layer of the sound deadening tar on the underside of the boot. The boss (Read:wife) had a list of things for me to do around the house over Easter but she gave my a couple of days off so I finished up the boot soundproofing and moved the amp to the area on top of the fuel cell access point, Im going to see if I can source GTR rear boot panel as they look better than the GTST ones and Ill retro fit it. Ill add some pics of the boot later as its nothing too special. I got all of my parts back from Craved and the pics below do not show how good his work really is Plazmaman Plenum, and Associated Pipework Im trying to make up my mind on wether to run 3" piping on the entire cold side and drop a 3" - 2.5" reducer in somewhere (probably after the BOV pipe)and use 2.5" piping like before, Im a bit worried about losing throttle response and gaining lag Any Opinions??????????? Black Ceramic Coated Dump Pipe and Rear Turbo Housing Plazmaman P1 Plumb Back BOV I was intending on keeping the standard BOV but it would have cost me more to get the flange welded onto the supplied pipe and they gave me an excellent deal so I took it. New Carbon Fibre Bonnett This is the picture from the Just Jap Website as I have not unwrapped it yet but you get the idea Ive decided to get the Intake manifold runners powdercoated as well so it has come off and will be over with Chris very soon. The cam covers willhave to be repainted as I slipped with my spanner and put a nice big scratch along one so I'm going to have a chat with Chris and see if we can come up with something that will still look like a metalic/candy red and I may get him to coat them as well as its so much more hardy. (Are your ears burning Chris??????) This is how the car stands at the moment, Front bar and intercooler has been removed and the engine bay is mostly stripped of any bolt-on parts so I can now clean it up, buy some new hoses and hopefully shorten and neaten up the mess of factory crap that hides under the mani. Ive decided to also remove the alternator and power steering pump thingy and paint them up whilst I can access it easy enough and Ill install the Oil cooler and relocation kit now as well as its easy to get to things as it sits now. I am after a stock Series 2 Front Bumper if anybody has one for sale as mine has been cut back too much and is too flimsy so let know if one comes up anywhere, and the old plenum, crossover pipe, dump pipe, highflow turbo and Apexi Super Suction intake kit will be sold on to its next owner. Im thinking of getting rid of my airbox as well and replacing it with a carbon one but I will see how fitment goes with the 2835 kit first So not much of an update but things are starting to happen. I will update again shortly
  17. If you don't mind mr suggesting grab yourself and adj exhaust cam gear before your next tune, you can then dail it in to get onto boost earlier. Could get all in by ~3200-3300
  18. Hey Callan are you running an adj cam gear on yours?
  19. Mmmmmm, well Ill see what I can do. I have to use the small 3" that runs off the TB and I do have a 3" pipe for the next length but I am getting a new IC anyway so I'll see if I can get just some of the piping with it and I'll stick with 2.5" Just to be clear I was going to keep the 2.5" on the hot side it's just the cold side I was wondering about
  20. Would I notice the difference in lag/throttle response being that I am doing away with around a metro of pipe work anyway? Surely it won't feel worse?
  21. I'll send you some pics tonight mate, I've got to get of my ass and update my build thread anyway. (not that I'm as far as you, only manage to take things off so far lol) You do know that I'll want it all smooth and stuff don't you?
  22. Sorry should I say before the tb? You know what I mean, plazmaman > tb > small pipe (bov) > pipework under guard > intercooler. I know it actually goes the other way if I was to explain it correctly.
  23. Chris are you going to be putting the standard tb on there for your dummy startup? The reason I ask is I wanna see what you do with the coolant lines into the bottom (or top when inverted) when using the plazmaman. Btw my intake mani is heading your way soon for more chrome coating just gotta clean it up. Told you I'd find more stuff! Looking good dude
  24. Thanks for the constructive replies guys (except for one........btw 17psi r33 I've been on these forums long enough to know search is my friend, was a fleeting thought whilst in the garage so I posted whilst searching) The small Pipe after the tb that plazmaman supplies is 3" so i have no choice but to use it, hence my query. They also supplied me with an extra 3" pipe as well as my old pipework has no lip on one peice so has blown of over 18psi before. I just didn't specify that I needed 2.5" so that's my fault. A reducer can be hidden away and be barely noticeable so that not a drama. Was more concerned about petential loss of response/lag by going up in size.
  25. When i did mine i sprayed the o rings with silicon spray and used the injector hats and two bolts to push them into the rail. As in pushed them in till they were snug but not all the way in and the tightened up the hats evenly either side until tight. Two years later and no leaks, and I just took it all out again today! As with the cam cover have you considered powdercoating? Soooooo easy to keep clean.
