Engraved VINs are fine. I've had a few cars like this. And even if the engine number doesn't match (provided it passes a 'stolen' check) that's fine also, the engine could have simply been replaced (however, whether you want to buy a car with a swapped RB26 is a different issue.)

Just saw an add for the "Hoon Hotline" on Channel 9, as part of a CrimeStoppers report. Basically has a vid of some Holdens doing burnouts and an r33 flooring it, followed by 3-4 cars. Encourages people to call the Hotline and dob in "hoons", also gives an explanation of the Hoon laws. haha.

In the space of 3 years my change in disposable income will be able to more than account for the change in petrol price. I can see the logic in buying an economical car, but driving something 'fun' is important to me as a lifestyle factor.

20k absolute max. Stockish GTRs go for about 18-20k. It depends on the buyer, but most would prefer one with all your basic mods done to it already. You can get ones in good condition, making nice power with healthy engines for 20-24k. Then there are the lemons which go for 16-18k.....

I didn't mean comparing one extreme to the other (fastest track GTR vs the fastest drag Supra) I'm well aware of what each car is capable tuned to the extreme. I meant, the appeal of the car to your average performance vehicle enthusiast. i.e Real life application. That means GROUNDING the power. Mod for Mod a street GTR will always be quicker than a street Supra, at the track OR the drags. AWD ftw!

Makes sense. The Supra has always been in the GTRs shadow. I'm pretty sure Toyota don't want a repeat perormance.

Sigh. I know about the damn gearbox. Get over it. I read somewhere that Nissan would MAYBE release the V-Spec (or that evo one) with a manual gearbox system, gearstick, clutch and all. That's what I was getting at, without having to get into technical detail......

I saw the plates GODZLA (or similar, but as pretty close to the actual word Godzilla as you can get.) They were white on green, on some sort of Green 4 x 4. If ONLY they knew...... Also, i hate plates that state the obvious like: "BLKGTR" ok, thanks for caring, but I AM NOT colour blind. "MYGTR" Duh, if it wasn't yours, obviously you wouldn't be driving it, but just so we're absolutely clear, you are driving your own car. Congrats.
