Hey Nathaniel prsonally i would go for a Varex muffler, i was going to use one on my car but never got round to doing it i will be using one on the WRX though but in your case because you dont wanna butcher up your current exhaust i would go for something like the apexi style valve simply because 1. it works 2. you dont have to cut anything 3. im pretty sure you can find and electronic version

why don't you run the standard rear demister?

if you worried about a demister in the front 2 x 12V hair driers will do the trick, we used em in a kit car that we had to wire up for a customer a while back worked perfectly
