  1. all i saw in the title was 'big heavy metal gig' and 'metal for the brain', my mind refused to acknowledge the rest of the words... so naturally i was pretty dam disappointed when i read the thread
  2. My sister rear ended a ute on a form one lane after a round about. The guy in the ute overtook her at the exiting section of the roundabout then slammed on the brakes because there was a big line up of cars at the form one lane. Peak hour traffic but apparently no one witnessed the crash, no one even stopped, they just drove around the crash and kept on their way to work. Luckily the guy admitted it was his fault and never chased up the insurance claim, my sisters car was written off though.
  3. and then when you get caught you get charged with fraud and slapped with a super happy fun time fine. If you can't afford the insurance you can't afford the car (shouldn't be preaching that, i didnt have insurance for the first 6 or so months because i couldnt afford it...)
  4. haha it just sounds more and more like what i did back when i was 18. I bought the R33 after 'calculating' all the costs and weighing up that i could afford it but there are so many variables that i didn't take into account, the main one being your quality of life (things you can do on the weekends with mates etc.) lowering because you have to pinch pennies to pay for the car and the associated costs. If i could go back i would not buy the car, thats not to say i don't love the car, but i would have done exactly what has been said here time and time again. Hindsight is a bitch If you're like me though you won't listen to this so just think about whether you are buying the car emotionally or logically. A Toyota Camry will be cheaper to run, cheaper insurance, cheaper parts, cheaper everything really and will also attract a lot less attention (talk to a few people about the 'safety' of some of the uni carparks).
  5. bungers are weak, upside is they are weak enough that you can throw them at each other without any fear of limb loss. It depends what your after Slaughter. Firework stores sell big pretty colourful ones in large quantities, boot sales men sell things that make loud noises and blow up tree stumps
  6. haha, he doesn't just sell them to me and my mates, a lot of people know about him
  7. everyone that pm'ed me (too lazy to send pm's to all of you separately ) cannot find the number, apparently he has changed it about 10 times since the last time i called him
  8. zoooeeee's 33 near the Dickson Shopfront today around 10am
  9. cant remember the weed law, think its something like you cant be criminally charged for possession of small amounts
  10. haha yep that was me, you seemed like you were in a fair bit of a rush
  11. black 34 gtt on northbourne around 11am blue 32 gtr on Barton hwy (near Hall) around 12:30pm
  12. haha yes boss. And yes, those 3 days are the only time they can sell them and we can use them. You'll hear fireworks going off for the 2 or 3 weeks after the queens birthday though
  13. next weekend, thursday night 5/6 (maybe), friday 6/6, saturday 7/6, sunday 8/6 (maybe)
  14. expensive big stuff but worth it I dont have his number anymore, haven't bought any in about 2 years. I'll ask a few mates if they still have it.
  15. haha, all the cool kids buy their fireworks out of the back of some guys car. Dodgiest thing i have ever done.... Call the number of a guy I got from a friend, change of location twice before getting in his car to drive to a 'safe' location. Boot opens... Gunpowder heaven. The guy had rockets for craps sake, thats the proper gauge for firework selling, wow your prospective customer with 80cm tall rockets in your boot. That was a fun weekend, only one of our group got arrested haha but yea, long weekend only. I'd stock up this year, they are getting more and more strict as the years go on, apparently it is illegal for the stores to advertise fireworks this year
  16. turbo car when off boost uses less fuel then N/A. Scientific reason i can't be bothered typing when im already 5 minutes late for work Google it
  17. haha silly cars, thats what my dads new 50 year old wife calls them aswell, must be a generational thing
  18. fun story from 1 hour ago. Think i've already said it here but next week we leave the property and will be back living in Canberra so we have to get rid of all our paddock bashers. No drama, only 1 still ran so i got permission from my sister to absolutely destroy it before EZscrap comes. So alls going well, plowing through trees as usual when me and 2 friends (they came to take one of their paddock cars home, still regoed , this was all a spur of the moment thing) decide to take the car off some sweet jumps. Things escalate until we get a fair amount of air and land what feels like nose first into the ground. Whiplash for all. So its my turn again, i drive it through the forest area and decide to side swipe a tree, i get too close and get whipped (hard to describe, basically hitting too much on the left side caused me to sling shot further to the left) directly into a gigantic tree stump. One of my mates in the back seat had instant bruising across the stomach and i nearly face planted into the steering wheel. The damage was weird, radiator still mostly intact but everything underneath it was pushed back 50cm or so. Car still runs so we drove it back to its original parking spot. My neck is killing unsurprisingly, can't wait till the morning to feel the real pain haha. It was a good send off from farm life
  19. dam beat me too it mick haha
  20. no, not that bad haha. Was from Canberra heading to homebush stadium. They pulled off the M5 at the wrong exit but took the next on ramp which was no more then 200m down from the exit, i couldnt swerve back in time and got separated without any map, gps or phone to call anyone so naturally i drove around looking for a sign to Homebush and got completely lost. Was a really nice place for a car meet up. Heres some pics i took
  21. Holy crap... just got back from the Classic Celica Cruise in Sydney. 11 of us driving, we get on the M5 and all get separated after a few take a wrong exit. I wasn't planning on getting separated... I had no ones phone numbers, my CB was out of range, i had no map, no GPS, i didnt even know what street I was on or where i was going... I was asking for directions from everyone I could but Sydney people are jerks, they helped but I would just end up more lost then before 2 hours later I stop at a BP to buy a map (It took me so long to find a petrol station i could actually get in to), turns out the BP is on the correct road and made it to the cruise and still managed to beat 3 of the other Canberra guys there. Fun apart from that shitstorm, i was so close to giving up and driving home... I managed to pick up my PS3 and GTA IV aswell So now im going to take out my rage on a video game
  22. dam, my first 4 times on reaction game were .187 .185 .185 .186. 5th was .249 Anyway i was looking for a car to tow my track car with. Something with a lot of torque and AWD. Money not an issue 4:30 is an ungodly hour, have to get car ready for Classic Celica cruise to sydney. There are dedicated members of the cruise who have car trailers for cars that don't make it all the way
  23. Thats because China has laws against having more than 1 child per family, Kangaroos on the other hand are popping out fetuses once a year and reach breeding age fairly young
  24. I was thinking about it, finally got the tyres on the car, but going to Sydney tomorrow at 7am so probably better to sleep
