  2. Hey there, I'm thinking about getting a R32 skyline and put my RB30 that's being built into it rather than keeping my 180sx, as i want more even weight ratios. But i was looking at www.imports.motortraders.net after i read some where that 1989 to 1991 skylines are lighter than the other ones. May 1989 to 1991 Weight 1260kg August 1991 to 1992 Weight 1320kg So i was thinking; What did they do to make it heaver? Is there a way to make the newer models lighter? If not would it be better to get a later model skyline as it would have better weight distribution up front with the RB30 and RB25 gearbox in it? Thanks, Andrew.
  3. Does these "drift" settings etc really do anything?
  4. Can you use the stock shrouding when you have a RB30 in a R32 with pipes that dont go across the front like a side mount setting or something?
  5. You could use a varex exhaust. They make it silent as all hell and have 3 modes, Race (which is straight through), In between, And silent. Lots of people have used them with good results.
  6. jz series are good but there not the motors people make out to be, Yes there strong but some people seem to obsess saying there is nothing wrong with them and never get probs - well yes they do get probs. There stronger than a RB25 and faster in stock form, but there not the godsend people make them out to be. There also very heavy, heaver than all the RB motors. If you have a 25 dont bother but like you said if your motor does die a $800 buck one would be great especially if it has VVTI.
  7. Pods fine here in QLD as long as its secured down, not flapping about. Mate of mine is getting his car looked over has front mount, high mount turbo, pod, waste gate. Just has stock suspension put in wheels with good tread (borrowed my 9.5 rears and 9 fronts. ) and they let him through fine. Only hold up is that he doesnt have a engine number lol. You will only have to change it if they tell you to but as long as its secure then it should be fine.

  10. On the street you wont see any difference, you notice it once making bigger power and on track with different models and types.

  13. So whats it hitting on the top of the motor? its THAT high?

  15. Dump pipe comes off the turbo and the front pipe is the part that connects to it that goes under the car where you can see. If that makes sense, Go a full custom exhaust rather than buying some overpriced stuff.
  16. Who cares what its got in it. RB30's are cheap as to make. pop that in and away you go.
  17. If i bought a after market plenum for a RB20DET can it be used on the R32 RB25DE head? - Id say yes but i want to be sure.

  20. Is the Ku Engineering plenum any good? I was looking at one myself but its hard as i dont want to buy something and find out it sucks after a paid for it lol.

  22. Yeah RB20 ECU is easily tuned. Dr Drift (sam) or nisstune chip in there and a tune.
  23. So can you buy aftermarket cams that are just for the RB25DE R32 head, Or do you have to just make others fit it?
  24. Hey there, Good to hear you like the skyline the best, So you went from a golf GTI to a GTR? Why sell the WRX to get a GTI?
