  1. Hi all, I've done a few searches, and I've had a read through this thread about body roll: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Bo...ice-t77262.html Basically, I want to start improving the handling of my R33, reducing some body roll. And I'm on a fairly tight budget (lol, don't they all say that). This car is a street driven daily driver for 99% of the time, so I'm thinking a combination of swaybars and (down the track when I've saved up) upgraded shocks/springs should give me the desired result. Currently, the car is bog standard in the handling department, other than front and rear strut braces. Power-wise, I'd say it's around the 160-170rwkw mark, with plans to go as high as 200rwkw. What would you guys suggest?
  2. I should mention I've done some searches and am aware of the existence of a number of guides, which I've read It's been good reading, but I haven't had all of my questions answered. I was of two minds to post this, but I thought I would anyway since things can change over time. Just wanted to see what the 'up-to-date' recommendations were for this kind of thing. Thanks for your suggestion. The PowerFC is a bit outside my budget, I was considering the Emange Blue with Fuel/Ignition control though.
  3. Hi all, I’ve owned my R33 for 9 months now, and I couldn’t be happier There’s still work to be done though. My aim is to have a strong, reliable street car with between 180-200rwkw. I hope to visit the track once or twice to test out the limits of the car in a safe environment (and probably do some driver training courses too), but going to the track won’t be a regular thing- not in this car anyway Mods / parts replaced since I bought the car: -Turbo-back exhaust with hi-flow cat -Apexi pod filter (with enclosure coming, once I finally finish it) -Project Mu Street Sports pads, front and rear -Front and Rear strut braces -Front mount intercooler -Braded brake lines -Nissan water pump -Greddy Heavy duty timing belt -Spark plugs (the details escape me but they are meant to be good, properly gaped etc) Engine is an unopened RB25DET with around 86 000kms on it (had a genuine and verified 77 000kms on it when I bought it). Currently, the car runs well, never missed a beat. It is running a little rich, which I expect is due to all of the airflow changes that have happened. So, some questions for the SAU community: *Am I missing any supporting mods for my aims? *Are there any other parts/items that should be replaced ‘just to be on the safe side’? *I’m aware that I’ll need something in the ECU department to solve the running rich issue, and to make the most out of the other mods. What options do I have for around $500 (plus the required dyno time / tuning)? *Any other power-related mods I should consider? *What are some good, fairly inexpensive suspension upgrade options? Thanks in advance
  4. Agreed. I'm surprised and a little sickened at some of the responses in this thread.
  5. Well, I'm almost glad I couldn't make it. Looks like I would have been the only one there in a stock R33 Well, stock looks wise anyway Aww....so not going to have the next one at Picton? I could have walked there, and told you all that I have a R34 Z-Tune or something Subscribed. Would be nice to actually get to one of these. Sounds like it went well.
  6. Really glad to hear that. I'm just at a point in my life when I am really starting to appreciate having a track close by (I'm about 30min from Oran Park) and then I find out that it's going to be closed to make way for housing! Does anyone know any more about the Oran Park replacement?
  7. Online Performance at Hoxton Park have always looked after me. They work on a lot of imports / Jap cars.
  8. Well, I guess it was a bit of an obscure topic... Anyhow, it turns out that Ebay was able to save the day: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...em=370002000591
  9. Hmm, if its louder but you feel you have lost power, I'd be checking that the intake pipe is properly sealed. Might be that some air is escaping somewhere
  10. Blah, I'm out as well. Would have been my first meet too. Have a good time, those that make it.
  11. Hi there, I'm interested in a set of brake lines for my car- 1996 R33 GTST S2. Still some spots left in the group buy? PM me, Thanks.
  12. Hi all, Working on my car yesterday (installing a blow off valve) and I wanted to replace the hose clamp on the vacuum hose with something a bit better than what is on there from the factory. Maybe I'm being a little particular, but I prefer the hose clamps that you adjust with a screwdriver. Anyhow, the smallest clamp I could buy locally was a 14mm-12mm one. Completely tightened it is just enough to hold the vacuum hose. Just wondering what other people have done in this area. I understand that there are a number of types of hose clamps you can get (like ones that basically use wire that you can tighten), so what is best to use? Also, where is the best place to source them in bulk? I wouldn't mind one day going through the engine bay and replacing the now 12-year-old clamps with something a bit better (maybe the hoses too, come to think of it). Thanks.
  13. I'm about half an hour away but I'll make the trip if I can (unsure as yet, my sis has her 21st thing happening over the long weekend). Would by nice to meet some of you though. Haven't been on SAU for that long, never been to a meet either.
  14. It is? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&id=127842
  15. Well, machine buff today didn't do anything, so respray it is. Ah well, could be worse I guess.
  16. I spotted the same car. Not a fan of the rims, but each to their own. I was grabbing some stuff from MSY at about 1pm. Wasn't in the skyline though, was going stealth in my mate's rolla.
  17. Got it on PC, an excellent game Multiplayer is where it really shines though, single player is a little on the short side
  18. Yeah, as much as I like the colour, it's not known for its longevity I'm booked in for the machine buff (and possible respray) next week. Will post back here and let you all know the results.
  19. You remember correctly. Fantastic games, if a little dated graphics wise.
  20. Spotted a few lines today. -Silver R33 GTST with exhaust, HKS power sticker on rear bumper, p plates- spotted on Narellan Road, Campbelltown. I was next to you as we turned right at the lights. -White R32 GTST, being followed by another silver R33 GTST- spotted near Picton
  21. Spotted MR 33 today (Silver R33) in Campbelltown today. I was the stock-looking wine red R33 turning right on to Narellan Road. Hi if you are on here, nice tidy car
  22. Simon- yeah, a respray for the boot and roof is an option. The rear spoiler is badly faded anyway, so I want to get that done. Interesting about the airport thing- I'm nowhere near an airport, so I can rule that out for me.
  23. Update: Went to my local spray painter today- he thinks its probably due to a dodge respray when the car was first landed in Oz Going to try machine buffing first, and if that doesn't help I'll just get the areas resprayed. I wish I could afford a full respray, but I just cant at the moment. I know it won't look as good with a partial respray because they can never perfectly match the colours, but it will have to do. Thanks for your input everyone.
