  1. Heh, I'm not sure that there would be a De Tomaso engine that would fit in the model Charade I'm thinking of. Pity ;-)
  2. I don't have any plans on destroying anything with it. More after something that is fun to drive (well, at least more fun than my boring lancer gli). Wouldn't be spending a cent on looks or 'noise' I'm actually between skylines at the moment- and will be for some time :-(
  3. Hi all, I'm considering purchasing a Kei car for my daily driver. Specifically, something like a 2003-2005 model Daihatsu Charade. My reasoning: Cheap to buy Cheap to run Similar power/weight as an original cooper s! (from what I can tell) Would be like driving a go-kart :-) Now maybe this is wishful thinking, but I have these grand designs in my head of getting one of these things, removing the rear seats and performing a few minor mods to improve handling (and power, if possible). Keen to hear from people that have driven these cars, and any other suggestions / ideas. Am I completely crazy? ;-) Thanks
  4. Amazingly, this is still for sale. You'd be hard pressed to find an R33 like this for cheaper. I said I can't go cheaper before, but looks like I might have to. $10,500 firm
  5. Had some interest but nothing firm yet. Pretty good deal for $10,999. Make me an offer, I might consider it.
  6. Actually, scratch that. I will need a daily. Will consider swaps with cash my way. Something NA and mint condition would do it- prefer a smaller car.
  7. Hi all, I don't post much on these forums anymore- life just gets too busy! Anyhow, I'm looking to save for a house deposit and sadly this means that the skyline needs to go. Carsales link with photos: http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...&__Qpb=true Details: Location: Picton, South-West Sydney NSW. Around 1 hour from Sydney CBD by car, off the Hume Highway via M5 Price: $11,200 Specifications: -1996 Nissan Skyline R33 GTS25T 2 door coupe -5 speed manual -Wine red colour -100,000kms -Climate control -Electric windows/mirrors -Tinted windows -Factory rear strut brace -Factory 16” alloy wheels -Nismo shift knob -Rego to July 2010 -3 point immobilizer, keyless entry Modifications: -Xforce cat-back exhaust system (not overly loud) -Xforce high-flow cat -Front-mount intercooler -Apexi pod filter in enclosure -Greddy Type RS blow-off valve (plumbed back) -Trust heavy duty timing belt, genuine Nissan water pump (fitted at 88,000kms) -Walbro 500hp fuel pump -Whiteline front and rear swaybars -Project Mu front and rear brake pads -ADR approved braided brake lines -Silicone radiator hoses -New fan and air-conditioner belts -Front strut brace -Radiator air deflector -Turbosmart boost tee mechanical boost controller (set at 9psi) -Apexi Super Neo piggyback ECU (professionally dyno-tuned) I have paperwork / receipts relating to all the above. I am the first owner in Australia, having purchased the car with 77,000kms in stock standard form. Cosmetically it remains stock standard. Car is always warmed up/cooled down before/after driving. I am a mature, non smoker, non-p plate driver and have never driven the car aggressively. Car is in great condition inside and out. It does however have some minor paint faint/deterioration (mainly boot lid and spoiler), but the car has never been in an accident. It has a Japanese Kenwood CD/Radio that came with the car- this doesn’t pick up Australian radio and doesn’t appear to play cds properly. Professionally tuned on the dyno to produce 170kw at the wheels at 9psi- a very safe, reliable tune that suits this car as it is my daily driver. Serviced every 5000kms. Modifications are as listed above, and all have been professionally installed and tuned by performance workshops. Reason for sale- looking to place a deposit on a house. Contact details: Ben As mentioned, I'm not on here much so please contact me via email if you are interested or have any questions. Thanks, Ben
  8. Not that impressed with this game. Menu system is a joke, 'tuning' is really generic. Grid is a much better game.
  9. + 1 Try overfilling it a little and see if the noise is still there.
  10. Hmm, I used to go and watch the Friday night drifts but they stopped holding them for ages. Are they back on?
  11. Hi all, I tired to do a forum search on this but the search function seems to be broken for me, so apologies if this has been covered. I'm after a good mobile window tinter who can come to my workplace (about 30min south of Campbelltown) and tint the windows on two cars (my R33 and my workmate's Toyota Prius). We don't want anything fancy, just a standard, legal tint. Needs to be a good job- I've seen how bad tinting can look when done poorly. Suggestions / recommendations? Cheers.
  12. I haven't been there, but based on what I've been told I would probably look elsewhere before going to Tempe for tyres.
  13. Hi all, I posted a thread a while ago mentioning that I was searching for (among other things) the rear steering rack boot for my R33. I did a bit of research and found a couple of threads on here relating to the FRONT steering rack boots, and a Repco part number was mentioned. But nothing for the rear, which is a different size. Well, I measured it up and went hunting in Repco...and I found one that fits. It is a little bit longer than the original one, but other than that all the measurements match up. Even with the extra length it fits well on the rack. The repco part number is- RRB047 Hope that helps others who need to replace their boots. Cheers
  14. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polycarbonate Should do the trick for an airbox.
