sounds like results are more important than saving a few bucks, just curious have you had bad results/experiences with tuners in darwin or just being careful feel free to pm if you are not keen on posting in open forum

Sorry fella's after 12hour niteshift and 200km drive home I slept all day will ring em first thing in the AM and post back any developments then, looks like there is definitely some interest in these.
-
People keep posting about poncams (etc) being a straight dropin etc Is swapping cams on a 100 000 km motor (or a fresh import u know nothing about) really a sane move without new springs collets etc etc etc which is more often than not a head off move so you would be mad not to clean up ports for better flow while its off. and if your going to go that far it isnt alot more work to check out rings bearings etc then u might as well balance while its apart. Better to just do the full rebuild from the start! Or just chuck on turbos and put aside cash for rebuild when the inevitable occurs! trying to justify similar things myself at the moment cant u tell
-
justinfox plan on ringing them as soon as I am back from work tuesday moring (hey tomorrow) will try to c if its possible as I still would like to go that way. wondering if my original style choice was really that bad. It aint subtle though!
-
Yeh that made me smile to
-
damn that thing is huge nice work would be a full 2 litre's yeah. And to think i couldn't find space for a dinky little one I really must not have tried hard enough. How lows the mount, off the "chassis" rail and gotta ask where did you get the fittings from Whats the smaller line at the top go to a standard can or something?for emptying?
-
CameronBNR32 yeh pretty much thinking this is the way to go and about the only spot its really going to fit so yours is the illegal vent to atmosphere type yeah. Have you had much drama with oil messing up your fairly damn clean lookin engine bay. Was planning to use a small filter or some such meself

Yeh Custom Carbon definitly is dry , I suspected that the finish between wet and dry carbon would look considerably different. 4zillion dollars is probly to much to pay for a wing anyway. And thats before you pay freight! Imagine freight on any of these items boot bonnet wings from Japan wouldnt be a cheap thing either. Attached is a pic of the cusco wing I had considered they make em to bolt into stock holes too.
-
If u punch the numbers into google eg.500 mm Hg to psi you get 500 mm Hg = 9.66838735 pounds per square inch Its quite handy
-
Asked Custom carbon bout doing a wing and was told it could be done but would be very pricy (no surprise there really) electra-cps wing yum. Only "4zillion dollars" damn it would be sweet though. Would the finish match with the finish on custom carbons work, or any two companys, thats why initially I wos hoping to buy everything from one supplier so it all looked good together.
-
some track use with higher than standard boost, more to come, any extra insurance is worthwhile
-
for a 32 how much
-
Probly will RONIN waiting on prices etc. from them. Happy to pay $$$$ for quality, gotta look after a skyline its gunna cost. Out of curiosity those like WLDCRD, with Jap produced bonnets did u import yourself or purchase in OZ? do like the shift sports one and looking at there website (i dont read japanese unfortunatly) it appears like frames an all carbon, Nice.
-
Thought that path was the over the rocker cover catch can? Maybe I am getting it a bit wrong. Would still like to know if u can plumb that type open to atmosphere so no oil in intercooler etc. And if they are baffeled or not?
-
Okay while Beer Baron, and all others are giving me free styling tips Whats the opinions Carbon bootlids ie run stock wing in gunmetal grey (like the rest of the car), stock look in carbon as well or t-wing/ cusco wing (bolts into stock holes) or i guess no wing. Previous owner ran a big t-wnig so my bootlid looks like swiss cheese lotsa holes realise I could weld up holes finsh and paint but figured upgrade rather than repair, believe the bootlid is heavyer than bonnet so shave a couple a kilos maybe. Opinions
-
[WLDCRD] damn that looks nice mine is gunmetal with the same wheels too if I am not mistaken, nice!! RONIN not soft but wallet/credit card is after mods so far, that bonnet was my first choice though. Just unsure how to get such a thing ordered and sent from japan, and the price Starting to think the shift sport could be a winner though Noy (or anyone) what is the idea of the small vents near the firewall, these appear on alot of bonnets thought that would be a higher pressure zone there, not sure. So many choices
-
Ronin have to admit the Z-tune style was looking good to me as well. Beer Baron know exactly what u mean bout prices electra cps website scared the crap outa me. Looks A1 quality though. The one you have pictured looks a little like the one custom carbon have on there webpage and is nice. Live in darwin so removing underbonnet heat is important and have a lovely dent on my stock bonnet from a rock falling of a passing roadtrain so decision was made for me. Original choice had alot to do with thoughts of trying to feed air to the ARC airbox I have on order

djr81 am aware of the oil control issues. "The style of catch can infont of the breathers can help prevent this from happening" not quite sure if I follw u there, do u mean coz its plumbed as 100% plumb back or can it still get plumbed to atmosphere? (hard to tell in pic) U mean the ovr the rocker cover type yeah. WazR32GTSt yeh can see how that would be a benefit in cleaning etc. to be able to open it, figured I could still stuff in the home brew baffels (steel wool etc) if i had to (does anyone know if this type is usually baffeled) and can just remove from car to clean if that is ever needed.
-
Noy sent u guys an email tonight bfore I saw your post hope to hear from u soon not in QLD though which might make things a little awkward? Do u guys have molds etc. or take measurements of the car in question and go from there. and Baron u obviously didnt like the style i posted much so what would your pic b for a 32
-
Dont mean to hijack but if stiffening the rear is the answer will softening the front have the same effect. Might not be faster I know, but just curious
-
I dunno bout the ugliest design ever thats maybe a bit harsh.lol Yeh the vents/scoops at the back are crappy, the little one at the front would be good with an ARC airbox to feed cold air to the box. Was considering this or a z-tune looking one thy do, both are available without the extra (little) scoops and may go that way not sure about the posibility of water hitting top of airbox (arc) U had one didnt u Beer Baron arc box I mean? --{TRYDIS}-- thanks for the warning. Custom carbon will be getting a call email soon wanted to check other options before full custom job.

So even if I had a catch can oil cooler relocator (ie extra capacity and cooling effect) would the extra litre be justified still if I didnt have oil retrictors fitted in the heads. Somewhat concerned about the aditional oil pressure created by the extra oil and possibility of blowing seals in turbo or engine due to it.

Okay looking to buy both a carbon bonnet and bootlid for my 89 r32 GTR only place I have managed to find both has (to say the least) a questionable name according to most on this forum as far as there body kits go, havn't heard much bad about there carbon products though. Just wondering if anyone can tell me who made the original of this style of bonnet. If anyone wants to comment on this companys carbon products I would be keen to hear to or if any can suggest a better place to get them from am in darwin so hard to see products for myself before buying

Wow this thread took of a little huh? had heard the ones about moth balls before, but who the hells gunna do that. Brand I had used, the one claiming 60 points of octane boost was like NOS brand figured they would be pretty reputable, could be wrong was like $40 dollars a can too dont have one here at work so cant say how much was in it, not much though (aprox 500ml not sure) when I am not at work will check and post actually thought it said MMT free on the packaging but not sure. Smelt like potent stuff, avgas sorta smell. Though if its coating my plugs and O2 sensor think I might give it a miss from now on. Thanks for the advice

To those adding the extra litre of oil just curious as to wether u leave it in there after a track day (or are u refering to track only cars) or do u change oil straight away after track days an just run normal ammount or what , Just curious. Asked the mechanic who has been tuning my line and he looked at me like I was mad an said not to bother, maybe becaus it was my first track day and on street tyres so he figured Maximum G's were not gonna be a problem.
