  1. damn. one question tho, was it a turbo? whats so rare about it? (just curious) if it's non turbo - i thought they are fairly common... hope they catch who stole it, and hopefully its still in one piece!
  2. respray it black, with a silver pearl or silver with a black pearl or black with some other sort of pearl, it's easiest unless you want a heap of work re-doing the whole car's colour if you're going to re-do the whole car's colour go to Candy-Apple Red from PPG awesome colour or Candy-Apple Green They're both good
  3. Okay Well 1989 model 180sx have the CA18DET, 1.8litre Turbo 4 cyl, the ones with the rounded nose 1991 onwards have the same motor as the GTi-R, the SR20DET. Expect to pay between $12,500 and $15,000 for a early model SR20DET 180sx. They're a good car - pretty reliable, the SR20DET is a pretty strong engine. Although it uses the same engine as the GTi-R, it doesn't have as much power but is still a fairly fast car. They're really tail-happy in the wet, and handle great with a bit of suspension work. You say you wanted one with a Silvia front end ---- they call these "Sileighty's" .. You wont find a genuine one for $13k that is for sure. You may be able to find a fake one, but they're pretty rare too. The front end swap is easy, you should go talk to an importer about swapping/paying the difference for a silvia's front panels - they'll bolt straight up it's a do it yourself job there's a buyers guide etc at www.silviaaustralia.com if you go have a look there. Also another thing to look for, if the 180sx you're looking at has a small wing which comes stock, look under the boot. They've got ****ty seals and water tends to get under there and stay there for a long time... you know what that means! RUST! so just check it. So just have a look through the buyers guide on the link i gave you if you're after more info.. it's just like buying any other import there's a few usual things to look for.. all in all if you get one in decent condition they're a reliable car which can go damn hard with a little work
  4. what the hell there has to be more than just the computer done ONARUN's car has computer, fuel pump. fmic, boost, and a heap of other **** and its only got 180rwkw from memory!
  5. There you go They're definately worth the extra ~$200 over Pioneer etc ones.. I also suggest you get an amp to run them, and your front speakers. A couple of good budget amps are the Jaycar 4x100 and the Clarion VNET4100, but i reccomend you save more and get a better quality amp it will be worth it in the long run. You will still have a decent stereo system without subwoofers. Remember, the deck says "4x50w" or whatever, but thats PMPO, which works out to be like 4-5w RMS. Not very much power at all. Here is the details of the Australian distributor, look on their website or give them a ring. Australia: Eurotech 285-289 Port Road Hindmarsh South Australia 5007 Phone: (08) 8346 2555 Fax: (08) 8346 2888 E-mail: [email protected] Homepage: www.eurotech.com.au
  6. www.motorzone.com.au sell them i think they even have adjustable tweeters and crossovers - quality stuff i'll have a look later i've got a list of retailers somewhere, and i'll post it up.
  7. Yeah.. How much NZD are they over there im thinkin when i go to buy mine this time next year i might move there for 3 months, get a job to pay for accomodation, buy my 180sx, and bring it back with me. and the sweetest part? IT DOESNT NEED TO BE COMPLIED muahahahaa!
  8. Yeah, so basically what im getting at is that whilst they work, and sound OK, they're DEFINATELY not the best bang-for-your-buck. I spoke to XRSIST the other day, he's using an Orion amp, 2x200wrms. Therefore i reccomend JL10W3. They're a good sub for the money. Sound GREAT in a small, sealed box. Louder than you'd expect, and the low RMS rating on them always fools people. I'm telling you now, they're VERY under-rated Ryan
  9. I reccomend DLS 6x9's/7x10's also if you don't want subs. I don't reccomend the mainstream brands - Kenwood, Sony, Pioneer (but they are OK -- Loud, but dont sound too good.) Make a custom parcel shelf out of MDF, with built in pods for the 6x9's or 7x10's and get it vaccuum vinyl covered or similar, or carpeted, whichever you like. If you don't want subs, but want bass, i suggest DLS 7x10's. They sound good, are loud, and not TOO expensive either.
  10. this just in DSE are a rip. everything there is expensive. i might drop by some smaller shops on the weekend see what we can do. Even better why dont we get in touch with UNIDEN?
  11. yeah some of the ones that came out crappy was because a) the suspension in the car is hard as hell and its hard to take photos whilst you're getting thrown everywhere  and B) because them sony's are a bit slow to take pics on the move! that's not gonna stop me from buying one tho i've decided, Sony DSCP51 with 128mb Memory Stick, extra batteries, tripod and carry case for $1070.. Not a bad package for around $1k i think.
  12. put it this way if MTX were a hoe, she'd be one of the dirtiest, most unreliable on the market.
  13. oh yeah and as i said theyre reduced, so if u want a full size high res pic of any let me know
  14. pics worked fine eric theyre up FINALLY http://www.importforums.com/ryan/cruise/ night ones came out a bit ****, but alot came out good
  15. yes, yes it was fun! i'll hopefully have my photos tonight (fingers crossed!!) there's a heap! i'll only put 800x600 versions up, but if u want any 1600x1200 high res pics of any sort just email me [email protected] i took a heap.. damn them sony camera rock and about them CB radios, go see my thead in general about a group buy!
  16. yea i was thinking them or perhaps even better ones, which if we bought bulk, we could get for the same price as the other ones. just depends how many people we got who want them i spose. I thought maybe we could a) distrubute them at cruises by... B) mailing them interstate to the state leaders to distrubute them to whoever ordered them sound like a plan or..?
  17. Hey, i mentioned this to XRSIST on the cruise yesterday, how about we see about a group buy of them hand held UHF radio things? I think if we bought a box of em it would work out cheaper than buying them individually. What do you think about this idea? Ryan
  18. thanks for organising it shell and thanks for the food Eric thanks for coming to pick me up was a fun day i enjoyed it. i took about 120 pics, i'll put them up when i get them off eric. i would say more but im cold im going back to bed talk to ya laters *shivering* damn coldness
