  1. I think it shouldn't cost more than $600 for everything, its plug n play after all and i know chasers in footscray tune cars for around $450 providing theres no major dramas they come across... its all an hourly thing so less time = less money (usually)
  2. comedian ey... he aint so funny now
  3. any chance of a pic of the gtr seats?
  4. LoL @ topic.. dont ginx yourself
  5. lol i think when tuning they use the dyno for the afrs mainly and to make sure the power curve is good... (i think anyways... me no expert ) but its just a reference.. power runs a different again but yeaaa...
  6. sounds like footscray's moved to springvale LOL thats how it was here years ago... come down to footscray Whiplash... i want new friends
  7. side skirts will make it look a bit lower too thats what i'm missing lol
  8. I agree with everyone else here.. the life span of your motor is what you make it... high powered rb's with stock internals generally wont last as long as stockers... i've been told their good for around 250kw or there abouts (not sure but this is what my mechanic @ chasers told me)
  9. I was under the impression in vic that the epa laws state "must be a standard and un-modified air box" if you have a fmic that is... but like dezz said if your car has a standard fmic then a pod is ok to have... but as for the topic i do agree with the factors involved with a air box without a lid, it'll be the same concept as having a pod.. hot air from engine bay... i'm in the process of having different intercooler pipes made to go around the air box guide.. (i wish i baught a intercooler that used the standard holes lol) but you live and learn
  10. you can judge a low k's car usually... very clean... dusn't look warn out... not many aftermarket parts and all that shit.. just look likes a virgin r33 and a very clean one lol insurance for me is around $1500 being under 25 n the mods n stuff but if you've never had insurance before probably around 2k sounds likely... your suburb/town sometimes effects price, garaged etc etc... just keep a look out... even look on here... car dealers can be dodgy but just research your car prior to commitment like your doing now... but just dont rush! biggest mistake you can make is rushing...
  11. there should be instructions somewhere on here.. it'll be different with a hybrid kit because you'll have to cut a hole in the chasis.. and i think maybe the blade on the clutch fan need to be trimmed... not sure how others do it.. i had to cut mine... umm and thats about it.. very straight forward tho as long as you have the right tools... this arc kit is really good tho.. i wish i got me one of them before i got my hybrid fmic... makes life so much easier with striaght bolt ons.. no cutting... no screwing around... P.S. reallly good write up! was it hard to get that grill out? i found mine a pain in the ass lol
  12. If you guys are paranoid about the actuators... best way to checking if it opens correctly and what psi its set at by using an air compressor with a guage on it... that'll determine if its screwed or not... 2nd thing is porting the wastegate hole on the exh housing... better to get it done professionally just incase you go too much then your screwed.. only your dump pipe will cause this issue if the flapper dusn't open all the way cos its hitting it.. let us know how you go
  13. lol ah well at least you admit it back to the topic... I agree with everyone that pretty much said power figures mean nothing... which is true... if your car feels better thats what makes it all worth the time, money and effort you said youself your calls feels better... i'd be happy dont forget some dyno's read alot more higher than others.. different modes etc.. so yours might be more correct than others... never know but keep it all in mind.. good luck wit it all dude!
  14. hey have you seen my avatar?
  15. HOLY SHIT your in the exact situation as me... dude you will notice the difference when you get your turbo/ecu/inj.... when i get back from o/s its on like donky kong! soo can't wait
  16. yea big mouth bars are nice
  17. Nissan still make the parts of have them in stock at least, besides there are soo many wreckers out there with these cars in their yards that you wont have anything to worry about... Some parts vary in price but as they all do... but the aftermarket scene for these cars and motors is unbeliveable, everything and anything you could want for a car (but all at a price) If you don't want to overly modify your car and just do basic mods like Link said then you will get away with it cheaper... if your going for performance and highly modify the car then could cost you a pretty penny.. If your on a budget do basic mods and have fun wit it Best car i've driven personally (havnt driven many tho lol)... fell in love with them straight away! *sheds a tear*
  18. LOL thats what i meant... kerosine... :sorcerer: i get em mixed up... turps, metho, kero... my bad lol
  19. suprisedly not many people know the exact costs involved of having a street car with no cat and being caught by police/epa... do you have any figures you could give us? (appart from the phone number of epa )
  20. Mmmmm... drunk women... from port melb... at the pub in their twenties.... Mmmmmm Not to mention fitzroy st is down the road... yummoo

  23. Their all questions... everyone learns from somewhere oh p.s. getting a turbo to spool under 1000rpm? please read hpi with bee r's s15 on the front cover (supercharged sr20det + tdo6) :sorcerer:
  24. thats very true and i've witnessed 1st hand... i was running 12psi on standard turbo and now i have a gt2876R on 6psi (ran out of money so i'm granny driving ) and its just throwing soo much air in even on that much psi its thrown off the afr's real bad... but 12psi with my new turbo it will fly compared to standard
