  1. true, but- a) the nissan test driver, old mate suzuki, is like god behind the wheel. there would be many professional drivers who couldnt match his skill, hence the reason the time around the ring is questioned. b) a heavily modified evo could crack the gtr's time, so sure, a heavily modified camaro could probably do it too. you have to understand tho, that the gtr was in stock standard trim. right off the showroom floor. so what does that prove? that with thousands of dollars worth of tuning, r&d, aftermarket parts, and all other costs involved it can beat a stock standard car around the ring? kinda takes some of the sine off it, doesnt it.
  2. this is the skyline forum, killa 33. use your head. at the end of the day VTEC wins. or a dihatsu sirion.
  3. mate for a start you didnt even mention what engine you are modifing. have a look thru the sticky threads for rb20/25/26 dyno results and see for yourself.
  4. this shit just got REAL!!
  5. look mate, in all honnesty dont you think after what happened, asking "how do i run 9's?" is a pretty silly question. did you actually learn anything from this accident?? dont you WANT to learn with the current set up BEFORE adding more power? i really thought this would be anyone's first thought??
  6. PRICE DROP $90. will post.
  7. fair call, it didnt really come out how i ment it to. basically what i was getting at was that these tips revolve around "driving style" somewhat, for me, and most other skyline owners, the skyline is a car centered around great performance, strong chasis, and tight handling. like most skyline owners i have spent thousands of dollars emphasizing these key points of my car. i find that these tips on reducing fuel consumption are great tips, and very well thought out, but in my opinion they take the essence out of what it is to drive a skyline.
  8. mate firstly i dont want to sound rude, but basically to save 2.5ltrs of fuel per 100kms, your advice is to drive like miss daisy. they are good sound tips, but they honestly defeat the purpose of owning a high performance vehicle. if you want to save on fuel and putt around town all day, maybe you should consider going back to the mirage again?
  9. mate stop worrying about "breaking your exhaust"(WTF does that even mean!?) and worry about "breaking your turbo". search the forum and find what mods you need BEFORE you go winding up the boost. your exhaust will not break. also, if your muffler is f**ked, thats somthing that needs replacing rite away. modifing your car isnt as easy as simply adding more boost. adam
  10. the best thing about the rb20 det engine is that it doesnt nag, and ask rediculous questions all the time, unlike my girlfriend...
  11. hey guys, ill keep it pretty short. i drove 900k's over the weekend in my mildly modded r32 m-spec, in and around Dorrigo (north-west new south wales) the roads are all narrow, windy and mountianous with occasional straights. awesome roads to actually drive on. alot of people on this forum im sure, arent lucky enough to drive their skyline in an environment other than that in the city. too and from work, and the occasional squirt on the weekend. although my 32 is 16 years old, and my brothers 33 is 13 years old, both cars didnt miss a beat! the skylines both handled perfectly, abiet tail happy, responsive thru and out of corners, and are a fun, comfortable, responsive car to drive. i have owned my 32 for 3 years with 140k on the clock and this trip away was a real test to see if the old girl still had it in 'er, and i guess it just confermed that even though they are getting a bit dated, with a bit of respect and TLC, skylines really are a fantastic car, and a REAL DRIVING PLEASURE. do yourself a favour, go for a REAL drive, and appreciate a great car that we are all fortunate to own! hehe cheers adam.
  12. the noise an aftermarket bov makes when venting will be different to the stocker, are you sure its not just a "different" sound? my advice, put the stocker back on
  13. clean the AAC valve mate. there is a walk thru in the DIY section. im assuming you replaced the plugs when you replaced the coils? adam
  14. mate its not hard at all. go check out the DIY guide, takes 20 mins. petern- i had great results with the liqui moly. i really didnt expect much from it, but i would highly recommend it to anyone, and for 20 bucks whats not to loose. i will now be adding it to my list of things to do when i service the car every 5000k's. i also find electrical cleaner works a treat for cleaning the AFM. adam
  15. oh f**k im so retarded. lol can i edit the title?
  16. hey guys i thought i would share my joy with you all, im not saying this will work for everyone, but i had EXCELENT results. i have an r32 rb20 with mild mods, running rich as hell (like most imports) and i was getting between 250-300 k's per tank of fuel. the other day i had some spare time (and was pissed off with shit fuel consumption) so i did 3 VERY simple things to try and fix this....AND IT WORKED for my engine anyway, and i kid you not i have got between 400-450k's out of each of my last 3 tanks of fuel. 1-new plugs. mine were grubby, but nothing crazy 2-thourough cleaning of AAC vavle (this helped clean up the idle as well) 3-i added a bottle of LIQUI MOLY fuel injection cleaner (it takes 1 full tank of fuel before full results are achieved, it wasnt instant) these 3 simple things have saved me money on expensive PULP and cleaning the AAC valve (somthing everyone should do anyway) smoothed out my idle too! anyway just thought i would let you guys know, as poor fuel consumption is somthing that most skyline owners know all too well about, and i had such good results with these 3 simple maintenance procedures. cheers adam.
