  1. Hey lads im living in london at the moment, and im going to germany next year. i am keen as mustard to go the the Nürburgring and i know there are plenty of places that hire cars for various lengths of track time etc etc. im just curious if any of you lads have ever done this before and had any hot tips? im absolutley kicking my self that i had to sell the 32 before i came over to the UK, cos i haven't seen a skyline over here yet!! cheers lads, adam
  2. my first car was a pulsar sss. i had a great time learning in it. personally, if it were me, i would get a nice non turbo nissan (skyline, silvia, pulsar) and enjoy it, and instead of spending money on it to be "reasonably quick for the track", save you money for when you get off your p's. although taking your car to a track day is amazing fun, its also expensive, and for me i would be tossing up between spending money on a non turbo daily driver to create a track car, or keeping it fairly stock and saving my money for a turbo charged version to be a far better track car once off your p's. these are just my views mate, but any advice is good advice. cheers adam
  3. Ask this guy what he uses... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rf8kHUbS_u8...eos=9LDc9_qPk1Y
  4. the difference is 2 extra doors... seriously tho, you could pick up a half decent 33 coupe cheep as chips. just depends what u want mate. a newer 4 door 34, or a slightly older 2 door 33. id imagine there will be a difference in weight, and i know its easy to get a 33 sideways, never driven a 34 40-door. how easy a car gets sideways isnt really at the top of my list of criteria when buying a car, so cant really help ya there bud
  5. r33 sedans dont look tough at all, unless you spend a fair bit on body mods. r34 sedan looks the best out of the 3 and are the most recent too. id keep with the r34.
  6. i got some magnesium strips if you want to burn them instead??
  7. fuel is 1pound 20p here in england. 95% of the cars are lil f**kers like golfs and hondas. but u do see plenty of euro 8's and 6's
  8. lonleyland is spot on. people want to buy a car, hop in drive away and have nothing to worry about. its like in the for sale section on sau, where countless wankers will advertise their car and talk up how nice it is, and how good condition its in blah blah blah, and then state that it will be sold with NO RWC!? and the reason being is that they 'cant be bothered' or 'dont have the time'. people want peace of mind. haha f**k that turned into a rant real quick...
  9. i recently sold my 32 gtst, it was is perfect condition, and i mean that. it was absolutely MINT. i thought $10k was the minimum i would get for it, but after 2 months of trying to sell it, and i needed to desperately as i was moving over seas, i sold it for $7.5k. i guess what i learnt is that when selling a car thats as niche as a skyline, it doesnt matter what you THINK its worth, its worth what someone will pay for it. and like gimps said, if it doesnt LOOK the goods you will loose interest of alot of people in such a tiny market. in my opinion i think between $6-8k is what your looking at.
  10. To the OP, there is nothing wrong with the 33GTR per se, but it will always be the 'middle child'. as far as personal preferences go, thats all they are - personal preferences. 32's are starting to show their age, but hold a cult status, 33's aren't as old, but still quite affordable, 34's are amazing, but still quite expensive for your average joe. i guess it all comes down to 'personal preference' and budget.
  11. the 318i i drove for a while was so gutless. it was shamefull. after owning a skyline you will want to shoot your self when you try and over take someone in the 318i... bmw forgot to put the powers in the engine when they built it, dunno why there hasnt been a re-call yet...
  12. i remember reading the start of this years ago deren. i just finished reading it start to finish again. all 32 pages. i recently sold my 32 so i could move to the UK, i had owned it for 3 and a half years, and i was absolutely gutted when i sold it, i still get sad thinking about it now. after reading about your build, i have decided to get into some more debt when i get back to oz and buy another skyline. thanks for your inspiration mate. cheers adam ps if your still in briz in a few years time we should go for a drive!
  13. thanks for the reply mate. you you get a road worthy if push came to shove? its just that i would feel alot more comfortable spending 15k on a car if it a RWC was supplied. thanks again mate.
  14. im interesetd mate, but just a quick question- if its in roadworthy condition, then why cant you spend the $60 on a roadworthy cert, when your willing to spend $500 on rego? i know in qld you need a roadworthy when you sell. dont wana sound rude mate, just curious. cheers
  15. SOLD please remove
  16. currently it will be sold unreg. as i cant afford to to fix a few minor problems it has to pass roadworthy. - new front shocks needed - a seel in the gearbox needs replacing. both minor things, but i just cant afford it. as for aircon no. it has rego til may if i found somewhere that had a different oppinion on the minor problems
