  1. Id say so...I've never had a warning letter before Just outright EPA notices
  2. Those VIC-Roads "policing cars" prodiminantly pull over trucks for road worthy and log book checks I've never seen these pull over a "civilian" car They usually sit at the entrance or routes to and from major industrial areas
  3. As title suggests One Standard R33 Diff center - $150 I purchased the center off a fellow SAUer here with the intention to shim it up and have it as a spare, but blast my impulse buying i ended up buying a KAAZ 2way the next day This is no use to me, i bought it for $150 so im selling it for $150, havent touched it yet and only picked it up a week ago Diff worked as well as an standard R200 R33 diff LSD would James
  4. EPA will spot a different turbo the moment they open up that bonnet Ash... I had my heat shielding off as it was f**ked on mine, and they had a GOOD looking over when i went to get a full inpection. As in, stuck their heads right down there to have a look at the housings. Its gay, i know
  5. If the letter suggested you have to go to McLeod for the test, then its a full EPA compliance test. Therefor, your only allowed ONE intake modification (ie: either a cooler, or pod filter...not both). No boost controler, no fuel pressure ragulator, no injectors Basically STOCK Your silencer plate wont pass...even if you weld the plate in, its no accepted. I know this for fact You will either have to put the stock exhaust back on (as its close to legal limit as it is) or somehow lower the current system down. Which you probably dont want to do as itll mean resonators/mufflers Also, dont be sneaky and try to fool the guys up at Mcleod EPA. As they are pretty decentl blokes, they KNOW what to look for especially with Skylines as they get them in on a daily basis Good Luck
  6. As title suggests... I need an empty diff housing to suit an R33, i gather all R200 diff HOUSINGS are similar as i have the gear set to go in one. Any help would be great. Thanks James
  7. GroundRun: This is a "turbo swap" arrangement with Kyp yes? as in, you give him your blown turbo in exchange for the new one? If thats the case, and someone is taking the turbo off for you (its possible to do it at home with the right tools/patients ) Kyp usually asks you to bring the oil feed line (the one with the big loop in the middle of it) so he can modify. This is part of the cost of the turbo swap. What he does it drill a bigger hole where the banjo bolts go in...Im not exactly sure what Amberly Autos did more to mine as he said the original modification was'nt enough to feed the turbo oil. Although, i know a few people that have the same turbo/set up and have had no problems whats so ever...so i gather Kyp just didnt do my properly. Im a forgiving person though
  8. I currently run a safe 236rwKw (Amberley Auto Dyno) But bear in mind, i had all the supporting modifications before this turbo went on including forged pistons, injectors, ecu and what-not included to get this figuer Theres more in it, but i lean on the side of reliablity/longevity rather than outright power
  9. the verge of a dead motor? as in, did the person have the supporting modifications to support the higher boost applications? or do a backyard job and just up the boost in hope that "shell be right"? I've dealt with Kyp and currently run one of his "stage 1" (as he puts it) highflowed turbos. The benefits of this is its a straight swap, you can do this at home with no need for modified exhaust/oil(slight)/water lines. As effective as the turbo has been, the thurst bearing did die on me after a track day and was suspected that the oil feed line was not big enough to supply the turbo core with enough oil. So make sure this is sorted as it costed me $800 to repair. As the stock turbo is ball bearing, the oil feed line has to be modified (Done by Kyp when you do the swap) to deal with the high needs of oil from the bushbearing core Kyp replaces it with. The other upside is, the turbo looks like a factory item as it uses the same exhaust/compressor housings...so consider yourself when you get that nice EPA notice in the mail requesting you make an appearance at McClode for a full inspection, theyll be none the wiser when they look at the turbo. And trust me, theyll know what theyll be looking at if theres HKS stamped on the side of it If i had the choice again, based on the amount of EPAs ive gotten in the past, id probably go with the path again, especially for a street car. If it was cheaper, i belive itll be alot more popular as for $1500 you can get a decent "named brand" second hand turbo if your lucky, but then thell be other costs as chances are intake/exhaust/oil/water lines will need to be modified to suit. BUT, itll second hand turbo, but with Kyps highflows..its basically a brand new turbo (new wheels, new core, cleaned and prepred housings) The choice is yours
  10. Thanks guys... lol yeah Marcus, again *big_eyebrow raise* its all sorted though, so thanks again James
  11. Hey all, Im hunting desperatly for a factory R33 cat convertor to pass an EPA noise test (again) this friday Ive called UPI and Ice but they have nothing... If anyone has one laying around that want to sell or i can borrow, please get back to me Or if anyone knows if some other cat from another model of car is compatible, iv been told the VL cat fits...anyone confirm/deny? James

  13. Iv got my hands on a S14 diff that im thinking of shimming up and having it as a swap over into my R33 GTSt Do S14 diffs mate up (crownwheel vs spline numbers) with the R33? Iv been told theyre both R200 diffs Thanks
  14. howd u know which wires to cut into coming from the HICAS computer? iv translated the whole instruction manual and all it says is "power cable, Signal Code A and Signal Code B" screwed if i knew which of the bundle of wires they were... Im waiting for Mark at Tilbrook to get back to me, should be today as iv asked around australia so far with no luck The moment i get this info, ill post the sh|t up

  16. Sorry to bring this back up, but the link seems to have died.... Any chance of getting a copy? or is there someone else hosting this? Thanx
  17. as iv stumbled on that many times, and many people forwarding that to me...if they noticed carefully, theyd see thats for the R32
  18. Bringing this back up...noticed that many of you seem to not want HICAS in their R33s, yet provide little to no information about the Tomei Kit Installation is straight forward, but i was wondering if anyone has translated the wiring diagram? I think im going to have to hunt some japanese person of the street...
