When my last one blew, i didnt replace the cover in hope that it was heat and ventilation would help Alas, it didnt as 1. it wasnt hot lastnight when it happened 2. it still bloody happened Iv checked the charge is sitting fine at 13.5v (im assuming this is fine?) Anything else i should be checking? im suspecting its something to do with the charge. The coil keep and amplifies the charge in right? So when it doesnt disipate that charge to the spark plug and the car stalls/restarts moment after switching off (as all three cases have been) the charge its still held in? You re start the car, maybe gets another boost of charge, OD's and sh|ts itself? maybe? i dunno, running thoughts now
  2. In the past 6 months, iv had to replace 3 ignition coils on my Series 2 R33... Am i doomed to have to replace the other 3 that havent decided to pack up and leave yet? Im assuming the saying for these are "if one goes, the rest arnt far behind" Are there any preventative measures i can take for the others not to die, apart from replacing all off them with new coils? What causes these ignition coils from destroying themselves? heat? electrical problem? Im losing faith in the ol RB everytime i start it

For around ~$1800 Kyp can rebuild your turbo, install a T3 compressor, Sierra trim cut back exhaust steel wheel, bore out your housing for them to fit, new core and clean up the housings and youll get a perfect street performer. The only thing he reuses is YOUR compressor and exhaust housings. Everything else is brand new ps: bare in mind, alot of workshops SEND their turbo to ATP for rebuilds or various other specilised turbo rebuilders

  10. iv recently just upgraded my turbo to a pretty sedate little item... while tuning, we got a final figuer of 236rwKw, and even with decent 265 rubber on the back, im skating all over the place in 3rd at fullboost seriously, i dont see the point of having anymore than 250kw at the REAR wheels i understand if u have a 4x4 trim, but seriously..its occured to me that i simply cant justify having this much power

They usually take your details for the sake of their superiour, makes em look like they wernt sitting on their asses all day/night In one week, i had my details taken down 3 times (not doing anything wrong, same as u, mates in carparks and such), in the last instants i actually questioned why they would take my details down even though i had not done anything wrong i also noted if it was crime purposes he laughed and showed me an A4 tabled sheet with details of other people and he said, quote: "you see this sheet son? ...if i dont fill this up by the end of the night, then itll look like weve been doing nothing all night" *shrugs* he didnt get out of the car either, i had to tell him when m rego expired which was ironic of his sheet

  14. not only that, but what else got me thinking is the fact that the majority of our skylines are twodoors... how the f**k is the person in the back going to easily get out if the two in the front were unconcious (worse yet dead) sent chills down my spin, certainly a wake up call

  16. Dang, missed out on a good one Wanted to go, but the woman and myself were away for the weekend....otherwise i would be there seeing as iv finished off the turbo conversion and tuned it on thursday Got an awesome result, now just waiting for a straight line figuer

Im fair happy where iv mounted mine though, while iv made it detachable so as not to draw too much attention Last thing i want to do is explain to the next cop what that hand controller is So your using the factory solenoid to control boost? impressive cos we only managed to make it for at 10psi, after that it just wouldnt control boost so we had to installa bleed vavle..now im about to enquire for a 3bar solenoid from AEM Howd u manage to make the factory solenoid work with the Wolf? was there anything to it?
  19. Al, have u sorted out that cold/intial starting issue yet? were u going to get the solenoid thingie to hook up the wolf to take care of turbotiming?
  20. yeah iv noticed those GTS-r manifolds make it hard to get to the turbo...not only that u gotta get to those water/oil lines those were the biggest headaches really, that rear water feed line caused numours amount of bruises haha you just love to fiddle with things have u at least just taken off the intake pipe to look for shaft play?

Have u made sure its not the obviouse though? wouldnt want to be up for the cost of a rebuild only to find out it was a leaky gasket make sure it gets proven to you that it is the bearing when the turbo is all off i recently replaced my turbo with an aftermarket item...it was suprisingly easy to do :S

Most effective way of cooling is to continue driving clamly before u stop for a few minutes Underbonnet temps rise considerably if your just stationary for awhile Having said that, i tend to just roll clutch in towards my house with off boost driving before hand Just bare in mind that there are other factors that will damage the turbo more regardless of how long u "cool your turbo down" Regular oil changes is a god sent for those little bearings
