The publishers force Valve into changing price so that their retail efforts/prices on both PC and console won't be horribly affected. Notice how Portal 2 is $30USD (was $50 originally) on Steam even for AU, but MW3 is $100USD? And Deus Ex HR is $70USD in the AU store? There's a $10 difference on the prices in the US store, but in retail stores in Australia, they'll be priced similarly.
