  1. Fairly sure it's there to allow your boot to "breathe" as it were; to stop the buildup of condensation etc. Say you get a small amount of water in your boot; that small amount of air will help it evaporate instead of just sitting there for however long. Up to you in the end though; if you need the space for something else, do what you want
  2. Just after I got them back from having the gutter rash fixed I need to pull them apart and clean them..
  3. Yeah, they say "1 is too many"... HEY RTA GUESS WHAT, ACCIDENTS HAPPEN TOO Y'KNOW. You can't account for everything. Picton Road is a VERY notable point... It's not a bad road, it's just people lose concentration. Oh, and by saying "speed is a factor"... A cop-out, seeing as of course the accident wouldn't have occurred if they weren't moving at all. It's ok, we'll just do 40km/h on freeways and 5km/h in residential zones OOH OR JUST GET HORSES AGAIN. Raped by RTA for rego etc (and because it's legislation, it doesn't count as a monopoly... I think that's a bit shifty), and now again in the name of "safety". Ugh, again, I know that if you're not speeding you won't get caught, but they really didn't think this through too well.
  4. ugh, and all the people on the way to the train station in redfern trying to get me to save the environment i half want to say to them, guess what i did on the weekend? i watched thousands of litres of fuel get burned, rubber fried... AND I LOVED IT. AND I WILL BE DOING IT NEXT TIME TOO. while i don't disagree with some of the points the greens have, they REALLY need to dial down the rhetoric.
  5. Oh definitely; I know the only way I'll have enough now is sacrificing at least 5% of my pre-tax income into super and having the Govt. match it up to $1500...
  6. I thought that was kinda happening already, eg. systems in place? That's why we're all busting our asses in superannuation? Cause god knows when I'm 65, there'll be no pension...
  7. Amusingly enough, the area at Albion Park they're referring to? Speed is not a factor at all in any of those accidents. I know, I was one of them (and was at fault). You slow down for a set of lights, and the person in front of you slams the brakes on. Bam. I see accidents there almost every weekend. Although quite surprised 3 dead? Hmm. I figured I would have heard about that. Either way, having the camera there due to crashes is ridiculous... Most of those accidents are happening at 40km/h or less in a 60 zone (I hit at about 20, was doing 50 before slamming on brakes).
  8. To start with, what car do you have? And what the hell, why no horn? I've got a Momo Corse wheel, and it has a horn. Seems kinda necessary... But if you've got something like an R33 S1, they didn't come with airbags.
  9. I'm not sure of all the policies of Liberal, but the biggest NO to me was Workchoices. As for this time? Tony Abbot. I'll feel dirty voting for Labour because of Stephen Conroy, but it's the better of two evils; the other will put Australia back to the 1950's. At least I can circumvent the filter if I so choose. I propose I smash the shit out of his daughters. Bow chikka.
  10. Late to respond, but: Thanks! Optus reception is terrible on my train at the best of times. It was happening across multiple reloads throughout the trip (2 hrs long), but yeah, as I said, it's come good now. Haven't had a drama since.
  11. just checked.... nope bah i want my moolah
  12. I remember never knowing whether to trust my AVCR or my analogue speedo... Different speeds
  13. Ahh, seems the file's gotten killed halfway through the download; good stuff that you got the full thing now.
  14. If they actually do remove HWY and replace with the vans, then it's obviously better (for the speeders, I guess) because it's a lot less sneaky. However: If they run them in tandem... Again, if you're not speeding, you won't get caught
  15. Matt, I ran it successfully on Win7 x64; lodged it 10am on 1st July If you're still having troubles, as suggested, clear cache, redownload. Or: download on another computer; transfer installer to your machine and give that a try. Failing that, perhaps UAC is being a bitch, even though it's a lot nicer than Vista's UAC.
  16. whiiiiich im not and it'd be the ride of your life cause your life would end rather abruptly after that perhaps
  17. Agree with you 100% Terry. Just sucks, as again, because it's harder to see you've got reduced visibility, then you'll have people watching their speedos more than the road. It's kind of a lose-lose situation there; it's more watching out for all the other idiot drivers out there.
  18. anyone else read the title of this thread and think it's in french? d'effect!
  19. ^_^ all goods. i admit nossink!
  20. Kind of... there's a spot northbound going past Dapto on the F6 where the highway pat can sit and tuck back and get you at an angle from the rear, and you can't really see them.... same applies for dropping to the 80 zone at Waterfall northbound, they sit back up the other road, by the time you know they're there, bam. All open for interpretation on "hidden"
  21. They've stated that they'll all be in Ford Territories... but what are the odds that they sneak into other cars too? Bah. All in all though: For once I'm with HWY patrol on this; 4km/h is too small a leeway; as they've said, some needles are 3km/h wide, and think about the speedos that are a few km/h out... I think mine's fixed now, but it might be that little bit out... Either way. Interesting to see what'll happen.
  22. $1819 buys a good chunk of GT3076R much better adventure of a lifetime...
  23. there was something in one of those articles about people actually being in the cars while it's happening. so someone is being paid a wage to sit in a territory all day??? also there was a driveby shooting in the US of these kinds of things, killed one of the operators... hmm.
