cool, i think R+30 should be together though, same height, font, size etc.

If its grey over black with custom number plates, thats Tom, pretty nice setup when it comes to performance too

s13 coilovers almost bolt in, the front strut tops are the same patten, for the rears i swapped strut tops. They work a treat for me and so do the big brakes, i bought a set of JIC coilovers for $500 On the topic of custom parts, Ghostrider is right, its cheaper to have them made, at the moment i have a half cage, castor rods, adjustable front control arms, rear strut brace, rose jointed swaybar links, rear floor brace, custom oil catch can, custom inlet plenum and a few other items being made up here in adelaide for a reasonable price. You can slot one of the swingarm mounts safely to correct camber problem in the r30s, works a treat, but be cafefull who does it, best left to an engineer. Picked up an LSD on the weekend at a cheap price, but its a 3.9 ratio, i was looking for a 4.4, does anyone have an R200 open wheeler, or crownwheel and pinion in a 4.4 or 4.6? I plan on swaping the LSD into a housing with 4.4 or 4.6 ratios. Also picked up a very thick K-mac front swaybar. Im interested in a t-shirt too

Id love to know how to hook up the standard tacho to the RB20... Im looking for a muffler, anyone know of something for sale that works well and is cheap, 2nd hand or new... at the moment im runnin 4" from the turbo into 3" all the way to the back where instead of a rear muffler, i have a resinator, its a tad too loud cheers been looking at clutches also, as mine just packed up, got quoted $750 for a 5puk sprung centre, ceramic, 1050kg pressure plate from adelaide clutch service/extreeme clutches, thats brand new, and i rung again and asked for the price to rebuild that clutch and they said $640!!

I used a set of JIC rear S13 coilovers and they worked a treat, i was only borrowing them tho
-
ok guys, as far as the R33 fronts go, i dont recomend doing it unless your running an ATMO setup, because under power the car will squat something chronic, i can lower it untill the subframe touches the ground, and when you push 170+kws into them it almost touches the ground. When cornering they do not move at all tho. To fit them, just swap the strut tops to the R30 rears. S13 standard sus wont fit as the coils are too wide to fit in the towers, you need to use coilovers, bit of machining here and there also

Are the rear z31 calipers similar to DR30? Mike Cash - how did you go getting through regency?? or have you got any more info on what you would need to do?
-
ok, cheers for that mate, ill let you know what i come with i also thought about dropping bolts through the floor so the mount lines up with the xmember... ?
-
yeh im looking at doing that but i can't weld so i will have to take it somewhere to get done... no idea where to go, any ideas? the only problem is the x-member is about 10cm furthur back towards the rear of the car, and the gbox moount is forward....
-
I got the car to drive up and down the driveway with the auto gbox x-member but that is just supporting the geabox from falling out. Turns out the later model auto MR30 had a different floorpan, i found one at a wrecker, and its the same as the early 5spd models Has anyone done an auto -> 5spd conversion on an R30?? if so, what x-member has been used on the gbox? i cant work out how i can mount this gearbox... cheers guys
-
For the price of postage i can get the shaft here, but i may need the x-member, ill keep you updated as to how i go finding one tomorrow thanks mate If you could find out a price on the x-member tho, that would be great!
-
Still looking for a x-member tho i dont have a complete pedal box tho, and just found out the datsun shaft is too short for my box, so i have to get an R30 5spd shaft tomorrow. its really easy to swap shafts so i though id do it that way
-
hehe nope! thanks mate i went to u-pull-it today and got a datsun skyline 5spd tailshaft, its almost an inch longer and it fits! =) now im fiddleing with the clutch pedal shaft from the datsun, trying to put it in the skyline
-
Ah cool, cheers mate, the early model gbox x-member bolt holes to the chasis are 295mm apart (centre to centre) and the late model should be 415mm. I need the late model 5spd type cheers again
-
I put the auto tailshaft up there for measuring and its about an inch too short (the yoke will go in, but not far enough), the yoke is a different size also, did you put the rb20 yoke on the auto tailshaft? I got Brenton at 4s 'n more to wire it up in the end, cost about $600, did a really tidy job too
-
hey guys, i got the skyline back and she's running fantastic, just need to get a tailshaft made up and i can drive it =) Has anyone had to do the custom tailshaft thing in adelaide before and can recomend someone? Ran into one other problem today, the gearbox mount for the old automatic is obviously not going to fit, but i have a 5 speed mount of an early model '83 MR30, and have learned today that the chasis on the early and late models are a bit different, the gearbox x-member holes which mount to the chasis on the the early models are about 4" shorter accoss than that of the late model like mine which measure roughly 1foot 4". I can fit the early model mount inbetween the walls of the tunnel! If anyone has a late model 5speed gbox x-member they would like to sell, ill buy it

I had adjustable koni reds in the front of mine and they were outstanding! (i bought them brand new for about $375 for the pair) if they are red 'special' adjustable then yes, very good.
-
not sure about the r32, but the R33 had the internal drum handbrake setup, handbrake worked really really well!
-
I got marky mark from exhaust technology to make me up a bend off the front housing of the turbo for a carton. With my wiring ive booked the car into fours'n'more to be wired up in a week or 2, for about $500, could injectMaz do a better price/job? I pm'd about the brakes
-
this may also help, the australian model r31 disk i believe is the same size as mr30
-
ah yeh, i was thinkin HR30, i had to interchange calipers from MR30 to HR30 and they work fine, so no mounting differences there
-
Ghostrider: should be a bit crazy in an r30, what driveline will you be using?
-
rsx84: I haven't bolted the cusco down properly yet, but it looks like sweet f***all! Don't know about r33 calipers fitting, im not sure if the mounts are the same, and they are bigger also. Also be aware that most wheels dont fit on after this conversion, i have 20mm bolt on spacers I have a vg30 on the rb20, and i have a vg30 turbo on my rb25 in the r33 i had, they work a treat, only a small difference on the rb25 tho

If you need brackets you can make them yourself or you can get someone like an engineer to do it
-
shold be driving in 3 three weeks if all goes to plan!
