  1. Thats why you buy a car that was designed to be a good NA.. not a car that was designed to be a turbo then "downgraded" to be NA If your going to buy a GTS then turbo.. you need to replace brakes, gauge cluster, gear box, fuel pump, wheel hubs and diff just to be on par as a stock turbo.. so no.. its not "that easy".. you also need to change eninge.. or go slap a turbo onto the side of your RB25DE to make it an RB25DE+T.. but because turbo's need a lower compression ratio than NA's.. and you will have a turbo on NA compression ratio.. which means you can't run more than 10-12 odd PSi.. you need a retune aswell.. ends up messy and expensive.. so the easiest way is to just sell your NA and buy a turbo R33. Sell the na and buy a turbo.. its easier.. in all honesty.. as someone who drives an NA skyline.. its not worth it mate.. and I have GTS4.. so turbo brakes, 5 stud wheels and VLSD.. Buy a car that was designed to be a good NA performer from the begining.. Id take a type R ANYDAY over an NA R33 If I had my time again.. I think id be driving an S13 than my GTS4.. Dont just buy a skyline because its a "skyline".. there are better options out there for NA drivers.. thats just my 2 cents.. it comes down to you in the end..
  2. Thats completely b/s.. why would a 26 ECU not work with an RB26DETT? And for the record.. GTS4 boxes have a shorter 1st to 3rd (positive) and I think a 4th too that GTR's but everything else is the same. And on a side note.. you will also need a GTR intercooler and piping at very least as the standard RB20/25 Side mount intercooler will not mate with the rb26. Also.. 100% positive you will need a new fuel pump.. an rb20 will not be able to cope with an RB26DETT - GTR pump will do and is a straight drop in..

    The Wall!

"its a datsun on steriods" is along the lines of what they will say.. and whats not to like about that!?! Cool!
  4. You can always get our cam re-grinded.. its about $200 odd oer cam.. so it saves you $200 for an adjustable cam gear. or Apexi SAFC and tune..
  5. What about a port and polish before hand? Then Cams? With a port and polish you could easily get away with using just an SAFC. Port and poilish will require the head coming off and buying a new head gasket.. but you will see more of gain there and will give cams (if you choose to do so down the road) more of kick up the arse.. especialy with a set of adjustable cam gears too.
  6. RB25DET injectors are good fine for an NA application.. if you can squeeze more than 200kw out of them for a turbo application, they will be fine for a 150 odd kw NA project. You could use DE injectors if the engine has minimal mods. ECU? How long is a piece of string? How much money are you willing to spend? What mods does the engine have? What tuners are available for you to use? Have a search.. there are a few 25/30 threads around discussing what ECU's people can/are using. Im sure Skit or one of the other boys can shed more light on the situation than I have as to what ECU they are using. If its a basic engine with simple mods SAFC is usually the simplest option.. these retail for $250 odd and are a basic air fuel ratio adjusting ECU's that are also cheap to tune. Off the top of my head.. Z32 ecu's can be remapped and are also compatable with NVCS RB25 heads aswell.. this would be ok for a simple engine too.
  7. Usually, when you try sell pills you go to goal.. so i think he got off pretty well
  8. No worries mate.. PM Replyed.. call to organise pick up..
  9. Wow.. every man and his dog is trying to get rid of these rims at the moment..
  10. Why would you need an exhaust temp gauge?.. I can't find a straight answer.
  11. A new stand alone ECU will have to be used as the air fuel ratio's, timing etc. will be completely diffrent And why wouldnt you be able to use loom and injectors?
  12. While this thread is up.. can we also get pics of caged 4doors? Pref R32.. Im thinkin about putting a cage..
  13. Yes.. speedo is out of wack.. Its one of the gears in the Gauge cluster.. they used to make cogs to change it to the correct speed.. but these days they are very hard to find.. Your speedo will read over. There are a few R33 gearbox into R32 threads floating around.. have a look. Off the top of my head it is ia straight fit. In terms of harness.. there isnt really a hard part.. just swap them over.. as you need to run a 33 ECU anyways.. Best advice I can give you.. look for an R32 and R33 workshop manual for the wiring diagrams.. I have seen a fair few Rb25 into R32 threads in the DIY section of this forum..
  14. There is currently a thread in the NA section entitled "something that NA's have superior to turbos".. or along those lines.. with fuel consumption figures.. have a look
  15. But would you call it a huge diffrence? Its not a completely different car, is it? I completely agree with you that there will be changes in the way the engine revs.. of course.. or else there wouldnt be a point in change the exhaust system.. But the "noise" factor is alot more noticable than the torque/responce.. And forget about getting much of a power gain with an off the shelf Autobarn product.. thats what I mean.. Even if a second hand brand name product is about $400 odd dollars.. its money well spent.. you dont wanna be one of those tools whos car sounds like its an asthamatic..
  16. R32 boxes start to strip gears and do in bearing at about 240 odd kw depending on what life the box has had.

  21. Awesome job.. but the problem with having speakers so low and fr away in the footwell is that it bring the "Stage" of the music very low. I used a single 3 inch tweeter at the base of the A pillar and it really opens the sound up and brings the tage almost head level.. I was hugely surprised. Just a thought..
