just fyi, scathing if you have the 16*7.5 and 16*8.5 wheels, they are actually off a US market TT. these are extremely rare in australia. if you don't want them anymore, sell them on www.aus300zx.com . all Japanese import and Australian delivered z32's (NA and TT) had 16*7.5" wheels front and rear so it is most likely that the seller has a set of 4 16*7.5 wheels.

Was a good night, good to see a few SAU members again. I have a vid of my mate's TT zed on the dyno. did 3 pulls running 3 different boost levels. made 314kw at 14psi, 364kw at 20psi and 379kw at 22psi.

i will be there to watch. also have a few other mates bringing zeds down to run on the dyno.

Have you checked out the Stagea FAQ? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/St...nd-t102808.html There are some pics in this thread of a zed with a rb25 in it. http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=289044 Are you on rbz32? http://rbz32.com/ There is plenty of info on there regarding rb swaps into the Z32

Hubcentric Rings For R33 Gts
Sandeep replied to r33canada's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
you'll need to measure the centrebore on your wheels to get the outside diameter of the hub ring. You will probably need to use a vernier caliper. -
Racepace Built R34 Gtr Nur Rb28 V-cam
Sandeep replied to tangomatt's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
awesome build Matt. The quality of the parts and the workmanship is amazing. Hopefully I will get to see this car at SAUVIC show and shine again this year. Can I ask, did you ever consider going down the rb30 path when you were planning the build? -
some brake shops should be able to make you another hardline, or just grab one off a wreck.

Rb25de Vct Not Active - How Much Power Am I Losing?
Sandeep replied to clip14's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
vct affects your midrange torque and power more than peak (high rpm) power. not 100% sure on the rb series, but on the vg and vh engines it is only on until around 5000-6000rpm, then it switches off. from what i understand, the idea is to increase valve overlap at low/medium rpm (not at idle though) to help suck in the in intake air/fuel mix and blow out the remaining exhaust gases. however at high rpm the pressure in the exhaust manifold may be high enough that some of the exhaust gas will actually be pushed back into the intake due to the bottleneck in the exhaust manifold... this would cause a decrease in power and increases your cylinder temps. so to avoid this they switch off vct at higher rpm's. basically with vct disabled, there will be very little (if any) difference in your peak power compared to if you had working vct. your torque curve however will drop away after the peak torque, whereas with vct it will be abit flatter towards high rpm and your midrange power would be reduced. -
I would put your thermostat back in for starters. Just because it doesn't snow in WA doesn't mean you should run with no thermostat, your mechanic should know better. Was your car overheating before coolant change or has this only started after you changed the coolant/removed thermostat. Did you bleed the system properly? you may have air pockets in the engine. I have heard people saying that with no thermostat, there is no restriction and the coolant flows much faster through the block/heads and radiator. This means there is less time for the coolant to absorb heat from the block/heads and less time for the coolant to cool down in the radiator. I don't know how true this is though, but I still think you should put a thermostat back in.

have you tried BOC? there should be a list of outlets on their website, but it's not working for me at the moment.

Nissan Data Scan / Factory Ecu Behaviour
Sandeep replied to BensDR30's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
nissan datascan is a very good piece of software for the price. i've used ConZult tuner (like nissan consult full version, auto trans, hicas, air con diagnostics) but I couldn't really jusify the extra cost. for anyone interested, there is a datascan manual which I found really useful. i think it was made by someone on twinturbo.net http://www.kroffts.com/kke/files/Nissan%20...an%20Manual.pdf -
I bought a pair of hand held cb radio's recently. they still have 40 channels that you can listen to, but you can't talk on 2 of the channels as they are for emergency services I think. I got a pair of Uniden 1Watt radios for just over $100 from dicksmith, came with a charging station and rechargable battery packs, came as a bundle pack. they have roughly 4km range (line of sight) and we used them on the drive to/from DECA and they're pretty good to have for long cruises. They also have CTSS/DCS which are like sub channels to the main 40 channels that you can get your group to tune into. I only used it on the highway but I'd imagine it would be hard to hold it and talk while driving in traffic. Some of them also have a microphone/headphone port that you can use so that you don't have to hold the radio.

let me rephrase: "powerful and light weight cars"... power to weight wise my car is disadvantaged but because of the weight it feels quite stable and i don't really have to worry about wheelspin because it lacks the turbo kick. i think it's a good package for the skidpan but not good for the back track. guess we are now 1:1 in our battles. are you coming to the next deca Khoa? thanks for looking into it Ryan, i don't think there is any video footage to look at of that run unfortunately.
-
Congrats to Ryan and Chris morning skipdan session was good for me but I'm still slow on the back track... can't keep up with the powerful cars... if only there was some way I could cheat... one discrepancy though, battle 1, attempt 2. says got a 39.24 with no penalties but I was racing Patrick who got a 23.. and I thought I won (was really close) so not sure how I ended up with a 39. Can't do much about it now but just thought I'd say something before Pat starts saying he beat me by 16 seconds. but anyway, I still improved on last deca's results so I'm happy. hope to hit top 20 next time.

Great vids as usual Martin, thanks for letting us play around with the cameras all day. I think Al and Rachel also did the filming for our group so thanks should also go to them.

while your engine is running, disconnect the plug to the coilpack. if the rpm drops or the car stalls then that means that the cylinder is firing, if there is no change in rpm then that means the cylinder is not firing. put the plug back on the coilpack and repeat the procedure for the other 5 coilpacks. once you have figured out if one (or more) of your cylinders is not firing, swap the coilpack from a cylinder that wasn't firing with the coilpack from a cylinder that was firing properly. if the misfire moves to the other cylinder then you now know that the coilpack is faulty. if the misfire stays on the same cylinder regardless of which coilpack is swapped in, then you will need to start looking else where: spark plugs first because they are easy to check, then check wiring to the ignitor module for continuity, check if injectors are firing, compression test etc

Thanks to SAU-VIC, volunteers and Micolour for running the day, had a great time and I don't think i had any WD's this time so that was a plus... but i still managed to take out a few cones. I'm keen on entering the May event now, hopefully have the extractors and Nistune in by then.

morning skidpan layouts look familiar, i think we had similar layouts last year in May? doesn't give me any advantage though, pretty sure i got WD's on them last time -
okay so apparently there will be some road works/lane closures on the monash section, so I'm thinking for anyone else coming to the Shell meeting point, we should meet at 4.30 and leave at 4.45. For the people going straight to BP, try to get there around 6am. i'll bring my cb radios along too.
-
cool, so everyone is happy with those times? last time i think it took pretty much exactly 2hrs from toorak rd to shepparton, no stops. so we should have enough time for a 15min stop at the BP and then breakfast or drivethru at shepparton maccas, depending on roadworks/speedlimits etc. btw people coming to SE suburbs meet, we will be taking citylink so you'll need a etag/daypass. or you can pay 3 days later (i usually forget to buy it beforehand). mobile number is: zero four three two nine seven five six nine six, call me if you are gonna be late.. or if i'm late. p.s. remember to switch your lights off this time Khoa
