Progress is slow but sure. The eagle has landed. Eagle rods, arp rod bolts and race bearings arrived today. Crank is now out and goooorn to get collared. (thanks Dan) Jun oil pump and aftermarket harmonic balancer will be here anon. As soon as the crank is ready its off to Brisbane engine balancing along with the rest of the rotating mass for one of grants finest. Waiting for cams and valve springs to arrive and then the head is off to J Hill esquire for the solid lifter conversion. Sump goes in tomorrow for gates and baffling And then we can start assembling the long engine. As of that point I think I will be busted so I will have to start sticking coins in the piggy bank for a while to get the rest of the hardware required to complete the build.

Cant speak for anybody else Jboy but Adam, Warwick and I had a great time. I think dem had a tunnafun in the auto taxi too. Warwick had a couple of little niggling issues that prevented him from posting a time during the clubman rounds but I put the wheelchair through for a best of 1.08.9 Abd Adam just shaved me in his 32 gtr by a gnats dick with 1.08.72 He did this on his very last try and in sheer desperation I think. I dont know if this is of any advantage to you but i converted to solids to take advantage of a nice head porting job. A local engineer is doing it and has done it succesfully before. I am providing him with my stufffed hydraulic lifters and he is converting them to solids. I am providing him with the correct springs and rb26 solid cams and he is installing them and setting the lash by trimming the valve stems. I purchased the cams as near new for 600 dollars, the correct tomei springs cost about the same and the engineer has quoted me 4/5 hundred to do the job. The only additional expense will be the closing of the vct port in the block. Shouldnt be all that much to drill, tap, and put a bung in it.

Agreed Andy But. What I think viator is trying to say is that the car was tuned fine by rich on the stock ecu, It was only after the install of the haltech and subsequent tune that the problem arose. What I dont understand is why the tuner didnt rekognise these probs when the owner took delivery of the car after the tune. Or maybe he did. Did the tuner say anything to you of these issues Viator? Or did he simply hand you the keys and say everything is fine?

yes its much better mark. I can boost it back to .8 bar where it was tuned. before the new coils it wouldnt run past around .5/.6 bar. And yes, after much dicking around I did get them from Arron at slide. (the dicking around was caused by both sides so no argument there)
