  1. Latest update on build...Tore the bottom end down today. (Thanks for the help Shane) Immaculate. Its a pity to discard some of these bits but! Ordered. and on the way. Eagle rods to replace peened cryod stockers. Jun oil pump, 6 boost himount manifold. Cams. heavier valve springs, Head is going in for solid lifter conversion as soon as the cams and springs arrive. Cam specs Tomei solids. 260 duration, 9.1 lift. What started out as a mild street machine has turned in to a monster. Now looking at figures in the 350/400 rwkw range. Some f**kin wheelchair.
  2. I'll take the eagle rods. You have a pm .
  3. That be the one. They caught the duck, My old girl caught them. Using money as bait. Those ayshans cant resist that bait.
  4. Well the old girl caught and killed a roast duck and plum sauce. Damn fine effort on her behalf..BUUUURRRRP...OOPS, Pardon.
  5. Just chillin schnappy. waitin for the old girl to go catch and kill somethin for dinner.
  6. Put me down tentavely Col. I have a gut feeling my car may be in pieces about then. Spose I can always bring the 2 stroke blower/vac and give that a run as a sub tho.
  7. Sexy polished alloy catch can/washer bottle combo arrived. Cute as a button with a couple of those neat little K&N breather/filters on board. Gotta be good for way more kw's than stickers.
  8. Evenin shitheads. How are we all?
  9. The 2 18x8 with near new tyres are sold. The other 2 with reasonable rubber still available. Semi slicks still available.
  10. At this stage mate the best option would appear to be the bill hill one. Take your head and solid cams and hydraulic lifters to him and he converts your lifters to solid operation then installs the cams and adjusts the valve lash by trimming the valve stems. I have been told that the block may have to be welded totake care of the vct but I am looking further in to that today. He quoted me approx 400 dollars to do the job.
  11. I'm a puritan at heart Ben. Whilst the 30 bottom end does have some appeal I much prefer the idea of having a hot 25 in a 33 st. Theres something bogan about dumping an outsourced engine in any car to my way of thinking. Sorta makes it a mongoloid hybrid . Even in the old days when i ran holdens it was accepted that the chevys were the better engine but ford had the stronger drive trains. It was common to fit top loader boxes and 9 inch ford rear ends to the holdens to get some reliability but i couldnt bring myself to do it. I persevered with the bowtie product till I made it work and was more satisfied for doing it. The other reason is the aussie underdog thing. Whilst most opt for the 26 or the 30 I think there is a ton of potential in the 25. The only limitation at this point is in cam selection and i think that can be overcome as well. After all, making horsepower is all about getting air fuel in, burning it and getting it out efficiently. With the right cams I see no reason why the 25 cant match it at least with the 26, we are only talking 100 cc's here. Less than 5%. Given that most 26's are pushing an awd system and are inherintly heavier as a result of it i think that pound for pound the performance bar should be on about a par. It might be different if we were talking about mega power in the 800/1000 hp range Where the 26 valve train can be taken further but we are dealing in street/strip cars here.
