  1. Also have you checked your Air Regulator ??? this is for cold starts, it is open when cold to bring revs up when cold starting and closes up, as your car warms up, bringing revs back down to normals. If this is broken/stuck your car will be a beach when cold.
  2. Col-GTSX the AAC valve pulses to adjust to tiny a/F changes keeping revs constant, the best I can describe it. Also a RB30 AAC valve fits so go to a wrecker and get one. Oh and if your AAC valve is stuffed by what you have found, it will stall.
  3. My RB30 Sillhoutte that I had before the GTS-X would fire up on the coldest of mornings with a flick of the ignition and was drivable straight away and it would drive cold the same as when warm, would not miss a beat, so I know how they should run I just need to get my RB20 to do the same
  4. Hi Jordy My GTS-X does exactly as you discribe and I have been chasing the problem for over a year, I have replaced all sensors had AFM tested and swapped, ECU swapped, tested coil packs and still there. The only thing I havent changed are the injectors and ignitor so they are next in the line. The car should not do this, there is an inherent problem with lines just need to find it, as people have said they just put up with it, It drives me nuts and wont put up with it, just need the money to continue with my quest.
  5. If you adjust your idle off the AAC valve as you should, make sure you disconect the electrical lead as it will try to compensate every time you turn the screw and **** up you idle.
  6. Aha thats how they work out the taxes/fees
  7. Have you reset you ECU and also check the plugs ar in properley
  8. Um as said before clean out the AAC valve, dont replace actuator just clean out all the channels in the plenum with carby cleaner.
  9. The person I bought it off wrote down that it was a gift & it was under $200 but they still whacked me, Oh Well at least I still have the limited adition SAFCII, just didnt get the bargain I thought I did
  10. This post is not bagging buying things off Ebay or saying I got ripped off, I except it is my fault for not checking more. This is more to say if you think you are getting something cheap it may not be so. and beware I took my chance and lost. This is for people to be aware that it might cost you way more than you think.
  11. Shit just got stung big time Whole story. Bought a SAFCII on Ebay they are there at the moment for $428 then you pay $30 postage well still fairly cheap total $458 when I pay I am told there is a another fee of $20 for paypal fees was not happy at this stage but I wanted it so now costing $478. Now the big crunch just got a bill from customs for another $125 for GST and duties. So now it has cost me $603 I am not happy Jan.
  12. Usualy they only need a clean as they get a carbon build up. Also you may find the Aussie RB30 one fits
  13. This effect can be caused buy several things. 1. air regulator Valve stuck closed 2. ECU temp sensor (this sits on your radiator inlet pipe the one with two contacts) 3. bad earthing on your motor 4. leaking vacuum hose just a couple to look at

    R 31 Nismo

Thanks for that. Just seems to be more GTS-R than Nismos, were are they all hiding?

    R 31 Nismo

Hey Rezz is there any chance of finding out how many R31 Nismos were made as I have only seen one in Australia. thanks
  16. Check your TPS to see if it is set correctly, and another thing have you reset your ECU after all these changes.
  17. Your idle adjustment is on the back of your plenum, dont adjust the screw on you throttle body that is factory set and will stuff every thing up if adjusted. if you car tends to rev high, it is uasaly the Air reg that causes this in the front of your plenum, you can test this by pinching the hose that come out of it. Yor Revs should drop.
  18. Tha AAC Valve sits at the back of the plenum it is a round cylinder with a electrical plug on its side with one conector veritical the other horizontal, and two small screws holding it in. Be careful when taking it out as there is a small spring behind the valve inside, it can drop out if the unit is not kept together. Craved your problem sounds more of a Vacuum leak, didnt knock any hoses off ? did you touch anything else but the battery? like the intercooler hoses/conection?
  19. Have fun finding the hole, bloody heater cores get what is called pin hole leaks in the solder joints and they are as small as the tip of a pin so are bleedin hard to find. You find them in your car when the presure builds up enough and then they piss out heaps of water. Take it to a radiator place and they can put it under presure to find the little devil.
  20. The idle problem will be the AAC valve being gunged up with carbon take to it with some carby cleaner. GenesisR32 the Air conditioner problem will be the FICD valve next to the AAC valve this controls the ideling when the A/C is on, it could have the same problem. Would be good to make cleaning these a part of a service. The gear box problem will be the Syncro not meshing properley, putting a good oil like Redline may fix the problem but if the syncro has gone you will need to replace it cost around $400 in counrty Vic may be cheaper in City. to get around it for aa while learn to double clutch this will get you around it until it is fixed.
  21. Rinkya are agents that will pick up and pay for your purchase off Japans Yahoo and ship it to you. You must have in your account 20% of the purchase price then you pay with your Visa or other card. I was going to buy some gear off here but after commision and shipping cost found it bloody expensive to buy this way.
  22. I had a Silho before my coupe and was a great car. This is what to look for, noisey Borg Warner diff they need to be rebuilt around the 100,000 k mark as they get a whine up around the 100KPH. I have seen RB30E with 300,000ks and still have hone marks on the bore, if looked after from day one, have been known to get 700,000'ks out of a motor. SerIII Auto never had their bands adjusted properley out of the factory so if it is still running properley would be good to get them checked and set properley. Rust they usualy only have rust if they have been treated like crap thats why the little buggers are all over the place still after 17 years the only reason they end up in Wreckers is due to prangs.
  23. Could you elaberate more on troubles? Is it slippping or is it slamming into second? if its slamming into second your servos have had the goose. Also so I have been told that when Nissan Aus bought them out they never adjusted the bands correctly, so that could also be looked at.
  24. Pretty self explanetry, were can I buy an exhaust manifold gasket for an RB20 in Victoria or interstate? I am told that the RB25 the same. thanks in advance
  25. some twat done mine up that tight that I had to weld a bolt into it and use a 4 foot piece of pipe to get it undone. But first if the long 1/2 inch drive does not work first(dont round it out) , try and heat the area around it with an oxy,be carfull not get it to hot, and if that don,t work its the welder trick Also just read you say you used a wrench ?? it should have a sunken 1/2 in drive plug not a one that protrudes like the filler has.
