  1. How do you guys feel about getting all the oil coolers sent out as they are at the moment and then getting the black fittings sent out when they arrive?
  2. You can put a thin layer of gasket sealer on the whole thing. Doesn't matter about the torque, just tighten it until it is tight. It's a 6mm bolt holding on a cover, not a 27mm bolt holding your harmonic balancer on.
  3. As has been said. If the car was sitting on the bumps stops it was FAR to low for a Skyline to handle properly. Once a Skyline gets that low the suspension geometry goes to shit. You then put in different suspension which im assuming raised the car back up? Or did you simply reuse the old springs and put in new shocks? Because that would have been pointless. So if the car is back to normal ride height than you will now need a proper wheel alignment as you have changed the suspension geometry again. New suspension will not fix the problem if your alignment is completely out of whack. Also you havn't said what springs rates any of the spings were. As was mentioned, if they were Jap branded they could have been ridicolously stiff which in conjunction with a very low car would result in poor handling on the street.
  4. There is a few different ways to do paint matching. The most common which we used to do in Autobarn is take out a little book of all different colours and hold them up against the cars paint to try and match something. Most simple colours you can get pretty close, however never 100%. The other method which I have heard of is what some places have is a scanner that samples the paint and tells you what it is made up of.
  5. The franchise AutObarn doesn't exist in WA. There is something else in WA called something similar to Autobarn though. I remember getting an explanation at a staff meeting one time of the whole thing but can't remember now.
  6. Do you have a paintcode or mixture list for your paint?
  7. Looks like HKS finally swapped their silicone over from the gay looking orange brown to blue lol.
  8. Any paint shop can do that or go to an Autobarn. I used to do it at Autobarn on a daily basis. It's actually really easy. Can's come empty with the gas allready in them. You take the spray nozzle off of the can. You mix the paint into a container and the lock it onto the top of the can. You place it into a machine and lock it in place and a piston forces the paint into the can.
  9. Yeah it aint. I swear that rumour originated on this forum years ago.
  10. Gotta love QLD and mod plates. Pretty much makes any engine mod fine
  11. Yeah i'm not really understanding why an old thread was bumped just to go on about RB30s being better?
  12. Meh. I was expecting something horrific, those are not even in the same league as some of the worst.
  13. I don't see myself running any more group buys in the future unless I can some how gaurantee that people are not waiting on parts with their money being held up for months at a time (like with this group buy and more so the V Spec II pedal group buy - 6 months).
  14. Nowadays it isn't really the best choice as highflow options and bolt on Garrett kits are much more affordable and you have a larger range to choose from. The GT-RS was such a popular turbo back in the day due to there being nothing really available that would bolt straight on for that much cheaper. When I bought mine 4 years ago it was basically a choice between a GCG highflow at $2000 or a GT-RS at $2500. Garrett didn't have any proper bolt on options available.
  15. UPDATE Have heard back from Japan and they have the footrests ready for freight! Should be getting sent out any day this week now *fingers crossed*. As soon as I get told the tracking number will let you all know.
  16. There are a few different types. However nearly all of them look gay. The QEST ones were the first a lot of us had seen the other month that actually looked good! The ones in the first post are similar to the QEST ones and don't look to bad either.
  17. PM replied, done
  18. RB25 - single turbo GT-RS - response RB26 - twin turbo GT-RS - lag
  19. If you go the GT-RS route Nengun will be fine to purchase it through. I got my GT-RS from them 4 years ago at $2400-$2500 and it actually arrived fairly quickly. Also got the invoice "taken care of" so didn't have any issues with customs.
  20. Just so I understand what you are saying. So the car runs fine when the boost tap is removed from the car? However dies at higher RPM with the boost tap installed?
  21. My god that is keen...
  22. Yes Skylines from factory swtich off your low beam when you switch to high beam. Legally your low beam is required to stay on when you switch to high beams. It's more from a safety aspect. (Think if your high beams weren't working and you didn't know about it. You are driving at night time on a dark road at 100km/h with your low beams on. You switch to high beam and BAM, no light! Not very safe.) However most places don't care/know about this so most people don't have problems with police/RWC/defect stations etc. So really unless you want to do the wiring mod for your own personal choice it usually is not required.
  23. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Parking-up-the-worlds-fastest-skyline-after-a-hard-day-of-being-Marvin/235527886463896 Bahahhahahaah got shown that last night.
  24. Me and my partner got these as presents from her mum (she's a teacher). They teach you math and memory skills. Includes 7 DVDs, a bunch of booklets and cards. Big thing in the USA, there's ads on TV for it. Here is their website: https://www.brainetics.com/ We opened up one of them and had a bit of a look at the DVD's. It seems pretty cool but not really something for me. Has been sitting in the cupboard for a while. One is still shrink wrapped and the other is unwrapped however both are in brand new condition without any damage what so ever. They are $150 plus freight from the US so I'd like to get $100 each delivered Australia wide. They are advertised for all ages however in reality for young children all the way to early high schoolers would be the best choice. Definetely some very good suggestions on how to learn tips and tricks for Math and Memory skills. I can take some photos if needed but basically the photo above shows exactly what it looks like. Cheers Phil
