  1. If the green GTR you r talking about is that same one im thinking of its not a GTR, its a GTS with a full widebody conversion. Came into work a month or so ago. popped the bonnet and i scratched my head and asked wtf was going on here when i saw the 25det under there....

Thats what were gonna work out, personally id prefer to spend more time and splice into the 33 dach loom so i dont have to re wire the alarm, stereo, guages and the rest, though it looks like it may be easier to just use the whole loom from the half cut at the moment, ill let u know as soon as the decision is made.

Yes there are definately plans for a supercharger, i just have to recover financially from this to start with though, im a uni student working part time so money is reasonably tight. I managed to talk the wiring diagrams out of nissan but they wouldnt let us photocopy it, so we spent about an hour at southport nissan (Infinity dealer in '93) copying diagrams and taking lots of photo's. Wiring it self isnt that complicated fairly similar to the 25de/t, just knowing what everything does makes it much easier. I found out today that the parts im after have been dicontinued in Japan so im now im shopping in america trying to source the parts. Costs as follows: Half Cut: 2850 (could possibly be sourced cheaper with more time) Labour: 0 (My friend who is a mechanic is doing everything i cant do for me including exaust) Engineering: 0 (Also being done by a friend of my mechanic. 2 2 1/2' Cannons Approx 300. New Cam chain tensioners: 150 Drive Shaft: Approx 500 Second 2 1/2" cat 90 Total: 3890 Price of 25det half cut 4500. Though Scotty (my mechanic says most people would charge newhere between 2500-4500 to do everything)

  8. hahaha, im never gonna here the end of this auto, i want to put a manual in, my mechanic, good friend, person doing majority of the conversion for me for free (all the same person) is very very persuasive, and "hi powered autos are awesome for drag racing, ur leaving it auto John" is what im told and thats how its gonna be.

  11. haha, yeah im bugared too, i spent 9 1/2 hours completely stripping the half cut today, that was a mission. the wiring loom streched out is like 10 meters long.

  13. id rather be in with a V8 but its better we sorted this problem out now rather then destroy an engine. See the thread in the NA section for full details, i got some pics in there now too.
  14. I would definately offer to help u out mate, but im just so full on between uni and getting the car ready, pm and ill send u come helpful advice on the S-afc so u can have a crack at it, as long as u can solder its not that hard at all.

Update: Ive done some more research and found a site with approx 600 posts with the same problem though everyone of these people had the timing chain jump teeth on the cam sprokets causing complete engine failure. So i have been very lucky with the engine and very lucky we found the problem and this website. Nissan rectified the problem in 94 with different tensioners so i now have a 10 day wait for the parts to come from Japan. I also managed to talk southport nissan into letting me see the wiring diagram for the car they generally dont show neone from the public nething like this. Cheers John
  18. yeah man, my mate got his tt zed before he got his licence and i used to drive him to school in it, there like driving a boat. only thing this had going for it was the targa top.

  20. hahahaha, yeah it was a loan car, yeah it doesnt let u free rev it, the highest u can go to is like 3500rpm rather then the 7 g redline or there abouts, it went past there a few times, haha.

  22. Damage done to the engine due to the broken timing chain guide, nothing serious though.
