  1. If the carrier bearing is too long, would this stop it from closing the last 10mm? * Sorry for the hijack....*
  2. Hey guys, Im putting an rb25det on my rb31det out of the car, and its almost on. Like im talking 10 mm and its on. We felt it slide into the splines (OS Giken twin and fly), but its like it dosent wanna go that last 10mm:rant: Wtf could be stopping it going in?? We had 5 guys on it jiggling, tipping etc....nothing....10mm out. Any help to go in the last bit? And no, Im not putting in the bolts, then doing em up to pull it on.....
  3. Guys dont bother with the others, these would be excellent quality.
  4. cmon guys someone must know of a good private one?
  5. Its Ok Steve, youve already convinced me the Trampio TPG's would be the way to go Damn cheaper than the A048r's anyway....
  6. No, im not converting. Me mates brother is looking for one, and im tired of looking a drited out POS. if you know of a DECENT 180SX lemme know asap. HE HAS CASH AVAILABLE IMMEDIATLY. no time wasters, any cars up to 18K. Must be in good nick:) Cheers, and if your looking for a quick sale let us know
  7. Give it a month and you'll know everyone in Adelaide Its just like that Kevin Bacon game. Welcome to S.A.
  8. Yer well itsa got Bilsteins on the back at medium height, and with the 16's the guard was level, or just above, the top of the tread on the tyre. Using the tyre calculator...heres the old and new measurements for the rims/tyres : Old: New: 225 50 16 245 40 18 Side wall : 112.5 mm 98 mm (14.5 mm difference Mmmmm ) Radius : 315.7 mm 326.6 mm (10.9 mm bigger) Diameter : 631.4 mm 653.2 mm ( 21.8 mm bigger overall) Circumference 1983.6 mm 2052.1 mm Overall if i sit on 100kms/Hr the speedo reads 103.5 km/hr
  9. rb30e with rb25de + rb25det wiesco pistons = 8.5 to 9:0 to 1
  10. Just removed a 225 50 16 I had on ther rear to see if the 9.5" wide rim fits on there.... Well i had a feel around the back first and sh*t, there aint much room back there to start with - even with the 16s on there. Im talking like 10 to 20mm clearance of the suspension...sheit Removed the 16 and slapped on the 18 (with no tyre still) ......... Hooley Dooley it has the same clearance as the 16 inch rim. 10 to 20mm of the suspension. The 225's on the 16's bulge a little too. So if i fit the 245's on the 18's i shouldn't have any clearance problemos
  11. Have a read of this also : http://forums.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/show...ight=r32+offset Also the offset of the rims is +35 The A048R's are made in 245x40x18 for the rear and 225x40x18 for the fronts.
  12. So you reckon the 235x40x18's onthe back Steve? Same on the front. The guy at Nth Terrace tyres reckons a couple of guys with skylines have the A032R compund tyres and their better than the RE55s. Heres a pic of the Yokohama A048R (the ones for the back) The guy aslso reckons they use these in the Targa Tas? Can anyone call :bs!: on this?
  13. not yet, im still busy waiting for turbo and manifold. After its run in i'll see how they fit up. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html Use this link to compare old and new rims...u'd be suprised. Std rims are 225 50 16 on rear, 205 50 16 on front.
  14. http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products.asp?...Starcorp+Racing See here. Great selection of rims
  15. I knew 18's wouldnt be cheap when i bought em.....but who cares about money when traction is concerned
  16. Apparently the Yoko's AO32R are the way to go, but because of the 18 inches its the A048R model. 265x35x18 are $530 a pop (ouch) 235x40x18 on the fronts are $490 a pop (now it just hurts).... Oh well, tell us if this a bit rich for pricing, or could i get sum nittos for this price??
  17. Just found out Nth Terrace tyres are suppose to be the go...Anyone know Bill down there?
  18. Ok, you guys out there with these RE550's - where did you get yours from in Adelaide? And what about these Nitto's - the street compund ones (not the race ones:)) Any ideas? cheers for the help, and comments btw!
  19. That was the general thinking. I hate the look of those wheels with heaps pattern in the centre. Looks too "busy" to the eye. But yer, easy job to clean the excess brake dust off:)
  20. They'd be the ones Steve - yer i was looking at the sizes u can fit. Apparently u can get 235's on a 9.5 inch wide rim??? I was like WTF? Might go for 245 or 255 if i can though...cant see 235's holding in 4th with 350 or so rwkw But yer, that fat dorifto stretch is in my mind:aroused:
