  2. No I agree, but cams is a one off, per annum cost. Isn't that right? If so, doesn't make it so bad.. If people can afford to run/own/upgrade a Skyline be it an R34, 33, 32 GTR, GTT/Gtst or whatever other Skyline they own, if the FMIC, ECU, tires and the fully sick HKS SSQV can be afforded, then I see no justification for people saying they can't afford a $260 layout for what is basically, an oppotunity to drive fast, to push you and your car to whatever limitations the car/driver has, and to do so, safely, legally and with minimal risk to themselves and others.. If people say they can't afford it (I mean if money's tight at the time, then so be it), but if you can NEVER afford then, but think they are in better hands running the risk of killing themselves, another or being smacked with a hoon charge.. I just wont accept it, it is hypocracy and a general sense of tight-arseness in its worse form, one that does no one any favours.. Such lack of good judgement and prudence is detrimental to us as a whole, it places car clubs in absolute jepardy. It gives us all a bad name with which the media, police and the government as a whole, uses to fulfil their own means and ends. We become but pawns in the political machinations of others, that is what we've been reduced to, and I find that distressing, annoying and terribly undemocratic..
  3. Hmmm, still think you should put out feelers for an all SAUWA Bargs day Paul.. You know it makes sense!
  4. Matty will grope Dan's wedding-vegies, whilst Bubba's watching
  5. Any chance to do this this twice a week??? Like tues and thurs maybe??
  6. Loved that 20 round terrorist scoped semi-auto rifle though!! Was mowing you lads down at range! .. That is until you'd close in with the 12 gauge party-pooper and give me a generous dose of buckshot! Poor Nick though, I must've 'fluke' headshotted him with my deagle like 3 or 4 times...
  7. Me and Nismoid FTW!!! ALLAHU AHKBAR!!! TERRORISTS 4EVAAAARRRR!!!!
  8. Happy with CS:S again, at least until we get into the swing of things..
  9. Noice mate!
  10. Well that was good fun, sorry guys, my CS:S froze.. But I enjoyed it alot, even thought there were only a few of us, great to play CS:S all nice and fair with no hax.
  11. I'm coming... Now.. Just getting kleenex...
  12. If it is a monopolisation/corruption issue, cannot the ACCC get involved???
  13. Soz if this is a bit belated, not too sure where you're located. But in Perth here I took my R34 to battery plus in Osbourne Park.. They had a look, gave me some options and advice, I made a decision there and then, after which they installed the largest batter that could fit on the batterly plate/holster. A huge improvement over stock!
  14. Oh no you're right man.. Yeah, I forgot, it was indeed 2002 where Barrychello and RalphSchu decided to play tag-team F1 and then half the field crashed, with Webz coming 5th in the Minardi and whatnot.. Yeah, my bad, I did miss it (The 2001 incident I mean).. Either way though, was very sad, poor bloke ey.. Back to 2002, was that the race that Coulthard speared off just before the last corner, in which Micheal took the lead after which Montoya jumped him at the restart? Only to be repassed by the Schu a few laps later??
  15. Dan will grope Mike's weddingvegies, whilst Dan's fisting
  16. 2002 or 2004 IIRC, I was at that one, I believe it was R. Schumacher and Villenueve that came together.. Was very tragic, I remember something in F1 mag a month or two later, taking into account, mass, velocity, angle of approach and construction material involved, the chances of the wheel actually making it through the gap where something like 15,000,000 to 1. Obviously the odds weren't long enough, or the poor bugger's numbers just came up...
  17. Well that is indeed good news. No deaths = much better for all involved!
  18. Put an R34 neo into it as well, then you'd have a fricken AWESOME R33 gt/stt!
  19. Try GAME or Gametraders man, should be able to find something, maybe even JB-Hifi!
  20. Agreed, very much agreed. We are in dire need of places like that in order to facilitate and accomodate that said "place and time", it would also be good for it to be suprvised by thepolice as well. Whilst there is angst and suspicion, car enthusiasts and car communities has a whole will only experience a worstening relationship with our respective law-enforcement bodies. Break down the barriers, open up some dialogue, and we can at least try. Chucking a burnout in front of government house giving them pollies the finger would be like walking up to Hitler and telling him you like jews (not that that is a bad thing), but you know what I'm saying, it would not give you the desired effect, but the opposite. It is something that troubles not only SAUWA (or even SAU for that matter), it is a matter of concern for all car/motoring clubs/communities and bodies country wide, we all are in desperate need of an adequate conduit of communication to get our message across (to the media/government ectect). In the mean time, all of us, young and old, need to pull our heads in and keep them there. It is a point I will raise at a club meeting when it comes around.
  21. Don't feel like a tool man, it isn't a crime to not know. At one point I was ignorant as a door knob about skylines, and whilst I'm a long way from being an expert, I do know a fair bit these days.. I've bought probably nearly a grand in just HPI, ZOOM, HOT4's, AUTOSALON and such magazines since 2007 when I bought my car. The knowledge you acquire from reading them is indispensible. I used to buy them more often than I do know, but make a point of anymag making reference to a Skyline article, particularly if it contains tips about upgrades, modification and walkthroughs. You'll thank me later! But yeah man, time, knowledge, patience (MY car was stock as a rock all through 07 and most of 08), since I got intercooler/fuel pump and zorst done around sept/oct/nov 08, I've now got a full bilstein coilover kit, poncams, worked head, 13.5 pound of boost (thanks to an RB20 turbo actuator on my stock turbo), ViPEC engine management, coilpacks and nearly 300HP and the rears.. Just take ur time and do the research, ask questions if necissary, if your not happy with the results/advice or dissapointed by a lack of feedback, PERSIST my friend!! Thanks for posting! and good luck!
  22. In which case, their is no such time, nor such place on a public road. Period. I don't agree with either government policy regarding roads, some road laws (hoon laws) nor do I support the restrictive speed limits on some of our main roads that are in place, but given our crappy infrastructure and the shoddy weather in recent weeks, this should not have happened. True, to this minute we can only assume and speculate, but facts and circumstances point to this bloke driving like a tool. No one deserves what this bloke has and will continue to go through (death of people, court procedure ect), but you make your bed, you damn well sleep in it. I support the concept that police should show discretion under certain circumstances, but there is no place for people to be doing double the speed limit anywhere, let alone in the metro area, doing 140+ in a 60, 80 zone or even on the freeway is just not on, at all. There is no place and no time for it at all on our roads. Whilst young (well, mostly young) people continue to flout this concept, and consider themselves untouchable, invincible and above the law, things will only get worse for us as a community! If this prevelent behaviour of driving in a very unwise, reckless and irresponsible manner continues, one that is contrary to both logic and safety is not stoped NOW, motoring enthusiasts as a collective will continue to be rubbished in the media, and our rights continually curbed in the name of counter-car culture and this media/govt fueled anti-hoon jihad.. I certainly hope I've made myself abundantly clear. Driving at those said speeds, in just a populated area, considering current weather conditions, your car is no longer a car, it becomes a weapon, a deadly one, in which you cna loose your own life or kill other people, who for the most part, are usually totally innocent and mearly struck my a wheeled and motorised missile.. Death is not trivial, it is painful, and I feel for this guy if he looses his life, or someone else dies in the process. However, I said it before, he made a choice, a silly and foolish one at that, it is his bed he made, his turn to sleep in it. [/vent]
