  5. Mate; Does the noise tend to occur at a certain road speed? RPM? under certain conditions (Heavy acceleration? high speed acceleration?)???
  6. Ultimately, autos in Skylines (R32s to R34s) are simply rubbish, I mean, best to test drive a few and find out for yourself, this is merely my opinion. RAC check is a must, no matter how confident you are, good to see you want to get it done anyways! Seriously, Nissan petrol engines (RB's, CA's, SR's) are all pretty nuggety bits of gear, 115,000km and my little beast it ticking over a charm. No way you'd have to even contemplate opening up the engine before 250,000km, even then, you'd be lucky if you've even taken off the cam covers. Although, when buying, make sure you get a compression test done, and make sure the spark plugs and coil-packs are in good order, lol, I had 2 coil-packs go when me and my old man took my car for a test drive! If you are wanting to get an Auto, Autoworx have got some V35's for sale, they cost not much more than R34's and are much better all-rounders, fair enough they aren't turbo, but the 3.5 litre engine has enough balls to get you from A to B with relative ease. Not having a turbo is also a bonus for insurance, they skin you for anything with forced induction. Plus if you've got your heart set on an auto, the automatic transmissions in the new Skylines are much superior to the older type from what I've heard/read. Private sales may be cheaper, but it is the little things that make a big difference when buying from an importer/caryard.. Warranty is a big one, RAC checks are much easier taken place when a car is at the dealership, like I said, I had a couple of coil-packs fail when I test drove a car, if that were to happen on your way home from a private sale.... Too bad buddy, you break you buy, another $300 to throw over to Japan...
  7. You can even ask Kermit himself, or Ryan (NISZILA)... My custom exhaust system absolutely pisses, it has a Kakimoto rear muffler and nothing else bar Kermit's 3" system (soon it will also get the 3" catco treatment), the noise is plenty enough. So much so in fact I'm getting myself a mid muffler because it is just unbearable on long distance/country driving. Take my word for it mate! 3 inch will definitely suffice, as long as it is complimented with the correct components...
  8. Click on Autoworx on my sig mate, it leads you to their site. I bought my car in mid 2007 and I'm stoked! I got an R34 GT-T manual, turbo sedan for 26k, you could probably find something similar for a few grand less, man/turbo coupes can also be found marginally cheaper than man/turbo sedans due to availability being much greater.. Try to grab one that has done around 60,000 - 90,000, once you look into the 100k+ zone you're going to get a car that is on the wrong side of 'wear and tear'.. Few things to look for: - Have a good look over the car, don't get too giddy, check for any panel dents/scuffs and other general damage. - Check rims, either stock or aftermarket, make sure they are in good nick with little to no gutter rash or deep markings. - Interior, have a good look, the carpets should be in good order, seats should have minimal wear, the steering wheel and shifter are often tell tale signs that the odo might've been tampered with. Just keep a keen eye out for general 'wear and tear'... Also check around the centre console for scuff marks and abrasions.. - In general, keep a look out for rust or signs of surface rust, hot spots are the top of the suspension mounts under the bonnet, the rear brake light (the one mounted within the bootlid), behind the rear wheels, and most skylines don't have mudflaps of any sort, also, check for weld marks whilst you're looking under the bonnets, on my car, the weld lines are the ones that have rusted first. My rust is minor, but it is best to deal with it before it becomes a major problem..
  9. What one are you after?? If you are looking for an R33 one I bought one by accident (meant to get the R34 one), will sell less than advertised on ebay if that is what your after.. PM me if you are interested mate.
  10. Any chance you could throw up some pics mate???
  11. Here are some pics of this particular bonnet:
  12. I'm also a fan of the TS type bonnet: http://www.vivagarage.com.au/nissan/nissan_r34_bonnet.html
  13. OOooo, hmm that would look nice indeed... Where abouts could I get one from??? They'd be pretty rare ey??
  14. That is cool mate, I'm open to suggestion, in fact I encourage it! The more suggestions the better... Can't say I'm a fan of the Top Secret bonnet though, in my eyes I consider it somewhat ugly.. Hmmm, maybe something a little more discrete??
  15. Just out of interests sake, this is the front-bar I've got my heart set on: Opinions and feedback welcome! Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks!
  16. G'day. I'm looking at undertaking a GTR front-end conversion for my GT-T in the new year, I've already acquired the necessary GTR front fenders, I've also chosen what front bar I'd like. However I'm at a bit of a miss as to what bonnet I'm going to get.... I'm really wanting to get something like this, http://carmate.com/product_details.php?pro...amp;p_id=10215: However, this bonnet in particular is only available for a GTT (since I'm doing a GTR conversion this is next to useless). Can anybody point me in the direction which I can get this particular design fit for a GTR, or something somewhat similar??? Cheers! Mark.
  17. Minus all the flaps, winglettes and all those niggly aero pieces...
  18. Tyre smokin' action in the poosar! I've never seen anyone ever set fire to sh*t, but I'd love to see this bloke try!
  19. Not entirely true, info on F50 or BNR34 brakes is pretty limited.... However, I agree, before sloshing out 3k for an R34 setup, you should try getting some NISMO brake pads and braided lines.. Your pads will hold up to far greater forces and temperatures, the lines will also give you a better feel, as SLEEPR said, the lines WON'T expand and hence the middle pedal won't feel spongey and vauge.
  20. Rear Wing = VOMIT... The rest = SWWWWWWEEEEEETTT!!!
  21. Here is some interesting reading which compares our road statistics to other nations across the globe. http://www.monash.edu.au/muarc//reports/papers/fatals.html http://www.safecarguide.com/exp/statistics/statistics.htm
  22. It isn't just kids that speed.. I live half in Perth and half in the country, actually, I'm out bush atm. My point is though, I know lots of people that speed, not recklessly, I mean those people that clock an extra 5 to 15kph over the speed limit, frankly, country people do it all the time. Most of these people are actually adults. After I got charged for hooning in my VL, when I got the R34 and my license back, even my dad said to me that he said if I got charged me and the Skyline would be history, he stipulated though, that if I got a speeding fine or two, he wouldn't be too pissed off, as has sped occasionally (and has been caught) and that he would be a hypocrite to tell me to do one thing and himself practice another. One of our neighbours was cruising (well, speeding lol) into Corrigin on the way to Perth (2006 maybe?) and was bolting along at 125kph/128kph on the highway(110kph SL). Anyway, the 80 signs comes up in a hurry (as it is placed around a blind corner, one up for local councils! ), he jumps on the skids and brings it under 120km. This spot is however, a hotspot for the local coppers the have their radars on (not to save lives obviously, but to sustain their role as tax collectors in uniforms). Anyways, our neighbour got stung, the female copper tramps over to his window and says roughly (I can't recall the exact terminology) "You lucky prick, you just snuck under 120km, I could've done you for reckless driving". I guess that aptly demonstrates the attitude of Nazi honcho Grant "Goebbles" Dorrington and his fanatical squads of SS speedtroopers... I pass traffic going to and from the farm all the time, I'd estimate that over half the cars I pass are exceeding 110kph, it is my belief that this is not a purposeful display of contempt for law enforcement as such, it is a blatant show of contempt for poor policy, over-the-top and largely misguided restriction, the general public don't take well to having their collective intelligence being insulted on national television. I don't condone speeding, I won't condemn it because I don't see it as the crux of the issue at hand, the facts prove that speed alone isn't fatal, and I'm not at all convinced by the arguments contrary to this.. I must say though that I consider speeding in 4WD's and trucks (Passing road-trains at 125kph is not fun people!). However I put this to you, Germany is a relatively large country considering the average country size in Europe, it is comparitavely the size of QLD. Germany has one of, if not the BEST road systems in the world. Yet, in stark comparison, our country is large, sparse and has very little infrastructure in order t service its own needs. I tell you this, if you lived over 300km from Perth. Would you sit on 110km the whole way? Consider the remoteness of our country... Then consider our services and infrastructure, and then they want us to travel at 90kph (certain proposed speed limit changes)! If you were in our shoes, what would you do.. Still, I will note I've not lost/aquired a single demerit point since getting my license after my hoon charge...
  23. lol, you know you wants teh bush mekanikz stylez yo!
  24. lol soz dude, at the farm... Can't make an appearance this time...
  25. Damn right! Ditto!! Someone in Perth MUST be able to do work like this... It is just amazing!!
