  1. This is what I think, Although after some discussion with some really experienced builders, they think this is not the case. It is thought that having to big of an exhaust does effect torque. Personally if i was chasing every hp possible i would do what 'XRATED' said, just like inlet lengths need to be tuned so does the exhaust. although turbo cars are no where near as fussy as other cars (after the manifold) it would still make a couple of hp difference.
  2. Congrats man, hopefully you get passed with out having to go botany.
  3. You'll find most HWY patrols wont pull you over for being only 10k's over the limit, not when your on a 110k HWY anyway. They can book you for it, but it is rarely exercised on HWY's, usually its only on suburban streets you'll get booked for that speeding bracket.
  4. As far as im aware, Yes, but still why would they have your mobile? I thought RTA only takes home numbers, or has this changed? Also you would be notified in the mail, not by SMS. There a whole lot of other mumbo jumbo they have to send with it. For your sake, i hope its not. To me i just looks like a prank someone is playing on you, anyone you pranked recently?
  5. How did they get your number? Sounds more like a prank then it being actually from the EPA.
  6. Sorry to hear mate, it sucks balls, i got one in the mail on the 1st of OCT was about to cry. They will say everything has to be stock, and if they try and fail you for when everything isn't. Tell them to call the EPA and as this is not the case. The guy in Granville tried to fail my car the 1st time because of this, although thankfully i called the actual EPA and asked them everything before i went in, and i was able to pass. Although i know for a fact with things that are modified or not standard which do improve performance of tamper with the emissions have to be first checked at botany or penrith (the test where they put your car on a dyno) and if it passes that, then you can keep them for the DECC inspection. PS I hear the guy in Campbelltown is the best guy to take it to. Guy in Granville was prick. kept getting 89.9dba on the exhaust test, i swear he did it like 6 times to see if he could get it over, 3 times is all that is required. *Note I haven't been pulled over in a while, i just got mine in the mail! Devo.
  7. Excuse my immaturity, but how funny is that guy's name This could also be in relation to how crap some of the roads in NSW are. If they increase the restrictions in regards to legal car heights, it means they dont have to compensate as many people.
  8. thanks for that mate. hows the GT2535 go? is it much laggier then the GT2530? is it worth the lag for the better high end.
  9. anyone have any experience with the GT-RS and the GT2535 on a RB20? i would like to know what kind of power there capable of on the 2litre and when to expect full boost. thinking of going down the gt2530 as i like the boost curve and its a decent amount of power, but would like over 240rwkw if im going to spend that much. how would these compare, in terms of power and response. anyone have dyno sheets i can have a look at? thanks.
  10. how much does the 2530 go for brand new, compared to the GTRS. is the GTRS also a direct bolt on like the 2530? thanks.
  11. do you also make this turbo with an externally gated rear housing?
  12. hi, i skimmed through quickly but didnt find the exact answer i was looking for. what turbo would you suggest is the most efficient/responsive for a Rb20(r32) wanting to make 240-250rwkw while keeping the stock manifold, but being externally gated. thanks.
  13. Hi guys/girls, i need some things done/looked at for my car. ive taken it to a few workshops before, but im not really comfortable with there knowledge on the Rb series motors. I'd appreciate it if someone could point me the direction of a respectable workshopwith knowledgable staff, so far im thinking Advan (can you please PM any experience you've had with this work shop). im located in syd inner-west, im not really looking at getting anything major done right now (possibly in the near future though), just some major servicing and a few mods. id prefer to have one work shop work on my car, rather then a few. it will also need suspension looked at/aligned. thanks in advance. ps. i hope this doesnt break the rules, and please leave negative comments to yourself.
  14. can someone please answer my question, as im worried this could be un healthy. thanks.
  15. Hi, on this topic im quite confused. i have a very mildly modded rb20 making around 170rwkw. attached is how i got the crank case pressure release set up. now after reading abit of this thread i realise that the vacuum should actually go through the head, via the stock vacuum line on the intake plenum. long story short, where the red lines are, its bunged up. the blue lines, is where i just got some heater hose on, and it just vents to the atmosphere. is this right? or what should be changed? thanks.
  16. Ordered Nismo's I reckon best bet for price, but i guess i'll see when i put them on...
  17. Thanks for the replies. looks like the Nismo lines maybe the best option after all. in regards to ADR...etc... is this something that is regularly checked at track days or something that cops check? (im in NSW) and are the Nismo items ADR approved? thanks,
  18. Hi all, I have abit(to say the least) of a split on one of my front brake lines, so i think its a good time to get some braided ones, not that i really need them, but may as well since they need changing anyway. the question is, should i fork out ~$300 to get some fancy nismo ones? or go Earls with my current brake lines and get some made up to match? now if i choose to get them made up at earl's, i need to know if theres any special things i should know. whether theres one way valves, or special fittings that have to go on. atm earl's is looking like the better option, as they will be an arm and a leg cheaper, also i'll get the sense of satisfaction of doing it myself any help appreciate, thanks. btw its for a R32 Gtst with the sumito 4 pot brakes.
  19. Awesome Seller, delieverd parts on time, as we agreed, and parts were just as he said they were, thanks again mate.
