  1. Deutz v8?
  2. Welcome. As the old saying goes, there's no replacement for displacement(except boooooost!) The 3.7 v6 has a lot of capacity over the 2.5 straight 6. Add forced induction and will definitely add to the fun factor. But, probably not going to be a cheap exercise. I'm sure you will have a fun journey either way.
  3. Welcome
  4. Welcome. As others have asked, what are you going to be looking at?
  5. Welcome. Very nice looking wagon. Glad to hear others are appreciating the forum over FB. I find it so refreshing that its not the same 4 questions on repeat and your question doesn't get buried in people's feeds within 5 minutes.
  6. Welcome. So, more for teaching general maintenance or modifying? If modding, what's in the plans?
  7. Welcome. Sounds like a few stagea owners are joining lately. Its nice to hear.
  8. Welcome. The forum is definitely a fantastic source of information. Hopefully you find answers to any and all questions you may end up having.
  9. Welcome. Options will come down to budget, skill and wants/needs. Give us a little more info about what you want to achieve.
  10. Welcome back! Cool car. Sorry, I can't help you with the diff.
  11. It does sound like a great idea.
  12. Hopefully you get there one day. But, there's a lot that goes into a build that may or may not be common or even specialised knowledge. Then fabricating things that are one offs due to not being a common modification(eg, manifold and piping for twin charging). Keep in mind, most superchargers(if using that for the low end) that are turbo style have closer output to an exhaust driven turbo. Vane or roots would be better. Maybe a sequential twin setup, but generally these are scrapped on stock cars for a decent single set up.
  13. I definitely dont look into things deeply enough(or at all), as I just thought they were going more euro inspired as that seemed to be popular in the market. The Tiida was pretty meh, though.
  14. That depends, if the French got it from the Japanese, its Japanese. Or, is the rb30 aussie? Also, wouldn't it be Vq for a junior variant?
  15. If you haven't already decided on a career, look at being a mechanic, engine reconditioning or mechanical engineering. All 3 will give you different views and levels of knowledge (eg, mechanic is general for the whole vehicle, reconditioning will teach you engine specifics, engineer can design stuff). Or.......find something you love doing, hope its a well paying area and pay someone else to build the car for you. After 20 years of mechanicing, I've lost the passion for working on my own car. It may be different if I had access to a hoist, but it is what it is.
  16. Welcome. Not to be a negative Nelly, but is also possible someone has purchased and exhaust or similar and just thrown the sticker on the valley cover. Either way, if the motor sounds healthy, you should be fine. Looking forward to updates.
  17. Welcome. Looks pretty tidy from the photos. Any mods planned?
  18. Welcome. It does get pretty dusty down here(near the boarder). Lots of dirt roads too. Its good to see cars getting some love they deserve.
  19. In this case, dont get an rb26. I may, or may not, have had 4 rebuilds(various causes, all rod bearings)
  20. Welcome. Was the mistake the car, or joining us? 😏
  21. I love the sleeping dog
  22. Some of the photos from the aurora taken on my s24u. Night mode doing the heavy lifting.
  23. Jdm on the side
  24. Glad to hear. If possible, get your tuner to check air's to make sure everything is still where it should be.
  25. Welcome. Here's what I have noticed about forum vs FB..... FB; seems to be wallet racing, and the same few questions asked over and over. There *may* be some groups that are closer knit, but most have changed for the worse. SAU; unfortunately, no longer in its glory days. But....genuine people with similar interests. Not all about how much you spent and saying you dont have enough power. Sooooooo much knowledge available. Have personally seen people post up about literally topics I made myself, asking on FB like no one has done it before. Most has been done, and most of that is here. If you ever feel like just general chatting theres the wasteland. Other interests are also generally covered in other areas of the forum. Hope you enjoy hanging around. We would love to have you. P.s. nice 32 😀
