  1. I got to agree there with Dahtone Racing. Better you enjoy what you do, than it become the daily grind. I took time out to do some auto work for a while, it taught me a few things. Like it has been said, the 386th engine might not be inspiring.... BUT, and it is a big but, IMO, better enjoying what you do, and besides, if you are really into it, whats stopping you making a big money spinner out of it, you never know.... may be a millionaire before 35... even in the mechanics business. In this country there is only one thing stopping you becoming what you want to be..... IT'S YOU. Think long and hard though, maybe a course in the future may be whats needed, but for now a break could be a holiday with time to reflect. Who said ?Uni was to be completed before your career started? My 2c worth.
  2. Nope. Climbs initially to 23psi, and then tails off to 17psi as the revs get higher. Mine are running at 100%... flat out now, controller is the best dual, and the actuators must be working, as I can lower the boost via it. Even the sensors say pressure is dropping off. unless...
  3. I wish my turbos would push out more than 18PSi when the intake settles down across the power curve. what are they? Mine are fudged N1's, but fail to push higher now. Let us know what they are will u, I want to keep the twins, but need more pressure now. Sorry to almost hijack, but u have the total opposite of what I am experiencing. Remember that pressure can also be a restriction to flow across the head as well, and it could be an indication in the intake side, but only there.
  4. Cam timing?, CAT Blown apart inside, and blocking zorst. OR even one of the silencers disintegrated internally, and blocking the ZORST..!!
  5. Means, in my guess.... ...Can cost you money, and possibly leave you depressed, .....and unable to pay the Electricity bills..!! is my guess, very much in-line with normal GTR mods..!!! So tell us something we dont know!!!

  8. In answer to "Styline GTR's" point. The 34GTR had a smaller compressor, so run out of steam when pushed, as the compressor cant flow anymore without being a restriction. Oh, and weight is another, the 34 is supposedly more of a lump. Changed from 'Race bred' to 'Commuter bred' along the way!!
  9. Big diferences am afraid..!! On the side of the block look for things in the format of 6U, 24U etc. Engine wise there is a diff tho, power-wise, they were held back. The "Gentlemanly power Rule" applies here. certain xxU engines have better oilways, cooling, stress relief and strenghtening inside them. 24U..!!! Look for real N1, see what it has on it, should be matching numbers. Effectively the same power, but its how far you can push them is the major factor here. IF you can get a genuine first N1 motor..ie mine, then it is a bl@@dy strong motor, and can be pushed without all the add-ons... I know, I done it, and its still strong. There are obvious casting revisions, like chamferings etc, but the crux is in the inside. 24U is the one you aim for. ask a race tuner that knows his stuff.

  14. Have to add this.... Well Done James, and i guess the Mrs too for her part also, on yet another 'Cruise'. It is good to get out of the 'Danger areas', and into the sticks for a cup of Tea and Scones. It certainly was impressive in the turn-out, I still got to get the pics we took up on the Board. I kinda lost a few of you guys, but noticed.... as i drove past, quite a gaggle of Nissans in a Maccas on the freeway. Anyways...I got caught with the rain, but then again being an ex-Pom, no change i suppose!! We need a barby that is part of the club, so we can have a bite somewhere else. (maybe?) OR, maybe even a club-house!!!(maybe just a Bar somewhere we all know someone may be on say the 3rd weds of every month. nothin special, just a place were we can get to easily etc. Ideas, Ideas, Ideas.... silence fool.!!   15. Ok, So how about a system that monitors your car both visibly and audibly for security. Little warning sticker that says this on window. Is that a naughty idea?? Like the authorities use loop-holes, then it also cuts the other way.
  16. Got that one paul, but the opinion here is stiil the best ones are the R32's. R34 spool up quicker, but run out of steam. The Compressor wheel is smaller.
  17. My orig's maxed out at just short of 300RWKW. btw. R34's have smaller turbo potential than orig GTR ones too. Get some Orig GTR32's, more power from them, but still ceramic exh impeller am afraid , but better turbos than R34's
  18. Oooops, sorry, mis-read it... HP..! i got 303.1Kw at wheels similar plus internals and flowed head, flashy filters etc, plus FPR plus good boost controller plus more too. N1's are superb Road 'bines tho, stick with them. there are a few variants as well i am told too!!, but i unclear what the variants are. Good luck, enjoy the results, its a good start u got going there.

  23. My Beloved GT-R 'Zilla is the danglies, IMO, well worth the cash spent. There is only one GT-R remember. Turbos, internals, 'puter, rolling gear etc, etc..... loadza cash, and she still looks orig. Ya have to figure out if you want to own part of the legend ... or not to be honest. There are some days I think... Geeeeeeeeeeeez, all that cash I blew on her.... BUT, I sit in the pilot seat, and it all fades into insignificance. I bought her to use when possible, had I wanted to minimise financial loss, then the choice of car would have been different. They chew money more than other cars I would say, but then again.....
