Super Special Discounted Advanced Car Control Course Saturday 31st January 2009 Driver Dynamics will be hosting a specially discounted Advanced Car Control Course at Sandown Raceway Melbourne on Saturday 31st January 2009. This course is suited to all drivers and is focused on raising the drivers awareness of vehicle dynamics, advanced vehicle control skills, and how even small increases in speed can dramatically affect the degree of vehicle control difficulty. The format is very much ‘hands on’, with the emphasis on practical driving exercises, including highway speed emergency braking, wet corner emergency braking, emergency lane changing, multiple direction changes, understeer and oversteer exercises, and vehicle stability exercises on our unique ‘split surface’ system. This is a full day course starting at 8.30am and concluding at 4.00pm. Note that this is not a trackday, there is no circuit lapping. You dont need a helmet or any special modifications to your car. Normally drivers would expect to pay up to $300.00 or more to attend such a program, but we’re offering this date for only $180.00 per driver. Note that this price also includes lunch. Positions for this course are limited and filling fast, so if you’d like to attend please call 1300 652 693 Or email [email protected]

Hi Everyone Just thought I'd let you know that we'll be running a skidpan day at Oran Park on Sunday 19th October. We'll be running a morning session from 9.00 am until 12.00pm and an afternoon session from 12.30pm until 4.30pm. The morning session will be limited to 6 drivers, and the afternoon session will be limited to 8 drivers, so you'll get plenty of driving time. Cost per driver is $150 This course will be conducted by well known Sydney Advanced Driving Instructor, John Boston The format we run to is pretty simple... Brief classroom session The rest of the time is spent driving practising skid control skills on the skidpan, we will also be running 'motorkhana' type exercises, most of you will be familiar with John, he runs a great program for us in Sydney. One car on the skidpan at a time. Note that we will be using water on the skidpan to minimise tyre wear. If you'd like to come along please shoot us an email [email protected] or give Tessa a call during office hours on 1300 652 693 Kind regards Kev

I have banned my instructors from using the term "accident". Typically, when there is a fatal car crash one of the parties involved did something they know they shouldn't have done. Speeding (or driving too fast for the conditions, you can do this without exceeding the speed limit) Drink Driving No Seatbelt Run red light Text messaging Driving like a stroker (ie burnouts - being hektik - etc) Not paying attention etc I'm yet to see a fatal car "accident". Sadly, in a red light run situation it's most commonly the red light runner that walks away and the innocent motorist that dies, just because of the nature of the collision, (frontal impact versus side impact).
