  4. Spotted a bunch of drunkards in Strathfield last night who all had a terrible taste in cars
  5. Like it has been stated before, if you think it is worth $15k, then it is worth $15k Personally I would not buy plates that said "Skyline" for what is probably the same value of the car. I'd find someone to knock a replica plate up and chuck it on for photo shoots and track days for $100 and even then I'd probably go a Japanese style plate Besides, as far as number plates go "Skyline" is not very imaginative. I would (and have ) get something that to the majority meant nothing but to a few select people mean something
  6. So that's what I did wrong! I used a rubber cap held on with a hose clamp
  7. Definitely interested
  8. If I'm not listening to CDs/MP3s, I'm doing a scan on my CB. You hear some funny shit when you press that scan button

  14. A different way to find where the air is getting out is to fill the tyre with air and put it into some water, like a pool. Look for bubbles, that is where the leak will be IMO, don't skimp on tyres. They are the only things holding the car to the road. As for car brands, I have heard that Michelan are pretty good, but use a soft compound so tyre life is not as long as other tyres (which is not always a bad thing ) If you where to become a paying member of SAU NSW you would be able to order some discounted Federal 595SS, which in my opinion are a great compromise between performance, wear and price If you don't like my advertising, brands like Bridgestone, Kumho, Toyo and Continental are all good. The only brand of tyre that I have tried and never will try again is Nexen... spinning 4th in the wet on stock power without using the clutch or steering wheel is not something I enjoy
  15. Don't get too smug, I went on a MX-5 cruise once, a cop pulled 2 of the MX-5s over and issued defects but let me go on my way Granted, they where driving like flamin' mongrels and I was just cruising lol
  16. rofl @ Raw quote I guess this means I really should get off my arse and fax the form in...
  17. I bought my R33 GTS-t when I was still on my Ps. I registered and insured it under my name and only my name. First year of insurance cost my just over $3.5k, though I factored in $4k when buying it so essentially I got insurance around $500 cheaper than I initially allowed for. I suggest you do the same No offence but a Skyline is like any other car, things break and any problems should be checked before you buy it. The condition of the brakes is one of the first things I do when looking at a car, I don't want them to fail straight after I lay my money down.
  18. To be honest if I where still on my Ps and wanted a Skyline for around $15k (which what looks like you are) I'd look for something like this. For those too lazy to click the link it's a V35 Skyline 350GT-8 sedan. Yes, it looks like a bucket of aids (imo lol) Yes, it has 4 doors Yes, it has a CVT trannie with flappy paddles Yes, it doesn't have the street rep like the R chassis Skylines do. But here are some things to consider Stock for stock a VQ35DE puts just as much, if not more power out as a RB25DET, let alone a RB25DE A VQ35DE burns less fuel than a RB25DET It is a newer car, newer cars have less age related problems Because it doesn't have the street rep, people won't notice it as much. This includes police and thieves Being a newer model, it will probably hold its value better (though I'm no fortune teller lol) At the end of the day the final decision is yours, but I tell you now, consider what you are going to do with your car when you get off your Ps. I'd be surprised if you kept it naturally aspirated instead of selling it or dropping a turbo engine into it.
  19. Shit! I better get the videos of my car drifting off my Facebook! Oh wait, they where all done at Oran Park North Seriously though... how stupid would you have to be... "I'll just post up videos of me ripping skids so anyone and everyone can view them"
  20. For my 18th and 21st birthdays I was given an advanced driving course, level 1 and level 2 respectively Level 1 was held by a company called Murcotts and was held at the same place as we are holding Texi in August. Was good fun and taught the basics of emergency stopping and collision evasion. Level 2 was held by Eastern Creek Driver Training at the Eastern Creek wet skidpan. OMG THAT was fun! It briefly touched on the basics covered in Level 1, then went on to slide prevention and control. I want to do it again so I can do a proper figure 8 drift without looping it
  21. Technically I live on the Northern Beaches, but North Shore is just one suburb over... little concerning lol Last Thursday night on the way home from Gosford I turned off Mona Vale Rd like I always do and noticed that the car following me came around the corner without it's headlights on. It might have been my initial onset of paranoia but I'm sure he was following me, so I was turning down random streets until I was comfortable with parking my car at home. Probably unrelated, but it has me thinking!
  22. Wakefield's website say they have a "Speed off the Streets" day tomorrow, track time is clearly better than not track time
  23. Would you believe I'm a sparky?
