  1. no mate it isnt. it measures the temp of the exhast gas in the cat because a catalytic convertor only works at a certain temperature. also to the dude that said his a/f ratio of 14.1/1 is lean, actually it is slighty rich. 14.7/1 is the perfect mix (stoichiometric mix) where every atom of air and fuel combines and burns (as long as ignition timing is correct). 14.7/1 is the optimum cruising ratio.
  2. so it doesnt slip as much anymore while its in gear? n how harsh r the changes? like wheel chirping when it changes? did it improve fuel economy? also does the gear changing rpm change or is that to do with the computer?
  3. hey guys my gf got a 34 with tiptronic auto. just wondering if anyone has had a shift kit put in thiers?? if so who did it, how much was it n did u get much improvement from it in fuel economy or performance n is it worth doing. just askin coz the stock auto feels a bit sloppy. in the mean time im gonna get the oil flushed n see if its any better.

  5. powercruise was ok this year. but the weather sucked so didnt get that much track time. got a bit of drift practice in so that was ok. there werent many cars that could keep up with me on the straight even though i could only give it half throttle in second otherwise the wheels would spin the federal 265 semi's (track was slippery). the only run where a car pulled away slightly was with a vx commodore racecar (the sponsored one) but it was a fully stripped out racecar and i saw it beating alot of ppl so im not complaining and it only pulled half a car length on me coz i wasnt getting traction in second.

  8. i agree the federal 595 SS are not that great. not too bad in the dry (6/10) but quite crap in the wet (4.5/10) mainly coz i think they hav quite a hard compound rubber but they do last quite a long time and are great for drifting and burnouts and they r fairly cheap. the federal 595 RS tires are awsome (265/35/18) 423hp at the wheels and no wheelspin in 2nd gear and only a bit in first and very grippy in the wet too. for $325 a tire im definately not complaining id say dry (8.5/10) wet (8/10)

  12. ok i pulled my diff apart again on the weekend (AND GOT THE CENTRE BACK IN THIS TIME LOL) to change the shims coz it was way to tight (well locked all the time) and it was very annoying with 2 1.3mm + 1, 0.8mm shims (3.4mm total). so newayz put 2, 1.1mm shims in. very smooth to drive but back to its unpredictable ways. locks while accelerating hard in a straight line but wont whip nutz nemore and locks/unlocks while turning heavily with foot flat. i hav come to the conclusion. ITS EITHER LOCKED OR LIKE A STOCKER SO BUY A MECHANICAL LSD OR PUT UP WITH IT BEING LOCKED ALL THE TIME or not locked and unpredictable....... and thats my 2 cents worth lol.
  13. i put my old S2 rb25 turbo on my mates r32 not long ago. hits full boost (15psi) at 3200rpm in 4th starting at 2000rpm and flooring it. i would say take ur wastegate actuator off and test it with a compressor with a valve on it and gradually increase the pressure untill it opens the actuator. i think the spring inside urs if screwed and opening way too easily causing ur boost to come on slow. or ur wastegate isnt properly closed.
  14. so wat r the numbers 1-9 for? and how do u no which numbers change wat?? eg if u had them all soldered would it add 9km/h to the speed??

  16. i get 400km from every tank in the city. but dont really use boost but i dont really need to i spose. thats with 423hp atw, cant really use that in the city anyway ;p
  17. definately sounds like an electrical fault. hav u checked the ecu for error codes?? sounds like something is shorting out, like a wire is exposed and earths out every now n then. my bro had thermo fans on his n the relay stuffed up and his car just wouldnt run coz if the ecu is shorted it causes the car to shut off. definately a head f*#k, good luck with it.
  18. oil buildup on road + rain = slippery so i'd suggest check ur tires n make sure they r decent, slow down a bit round corners and LEARN HOW TO DRIVE!!!! every car is different and driving style needs to b adjusted accordingly. i hav 430 hp at the wheels and i could drive it in the wet without spinning the wheels quiet easily if i wanted to. take ur car somewhere quiet with knowone else around to crash into lol and get a feel for ur car so u no exactly wat its goin to do in every situation. thats the key.

  20. dont waste ur time mate. the turbo that comes standard on the rb25 is too small for the motor so i wouldnt even waste ur time with an even smaller one. the standard rb25det turbo is extremely responsive as it, so puttin one on an N/A motor with even higher compression will make it spool even quicker. bolt a rb25 turbo on and keep the boost low n it should b fine. done forget u will need to change all the sensors on the engine to rb25det sensors and ecu for it to work
