Mine makes full 15 psi by 3800rpm
I am probably seeing positive pressure by 2500 i would say by the feel of it. would have to plug the laptop in to get exact rpm but mine is still running very rich so a little sluggish atm and is still quite quick onto boost never under estimate a decent manifold lol
This was on one of those HPI DVD's. This one from memory ran the twin GT3240 turbine set up you were referring to.
It seems it was either this or the HKS GT3037S set up that most of the Drag oriented GTR's tended to run with
Yea his motor was built as a low comp set up to "aid" it running stupid boost levels. To say it was less than inspiring on to boost was an under statement lol thats definitely a contributing factor IMO
^^^^ my point exactly lol i did like the sound of twins on the GTR..... Until i watched that vid and then hey presto i had my single on order and never looked back
Even without 500rwhp i will highly recommend the GT3582R. Its a very street able turbo IMO
A friend of mine had a built R32 GTR with HKS GT2530 low mounts and even he conceeded that he preferred my set up. Everything from power delivery to the drivability of it around town
I can personally say i have had a cop looking at my engine and say oh wow looks good to me have a good night son and on i went.
End of the day cop attention is drawn by how you drive your car around town. I have my single conversion engineered so i am covered for that one.
If you do it right then you will be covered. I personally need to replace my decat pipe with a decent high flow cat and car will be legal..... Ohhh thats right except for the screamer lol
RB26 + Screamer= EPIC WIN
A friend of mine owns an Evo 5 with around 400awkw featured in fast fours a little while ago (UDLOOZ on the plates) says the only downside for him is besides the recaro's you really couldn't tell the difference between the lancer or the evo. He likes the interior on my 33R a lot more. However i like the interiorof the 34R heaps more than mine lol
He also said the Evo 9 Brembo's he has on his car are almost like drum brakes at the end of the back straight at QR haha
No it doesn't lol Its awesome when you get some yobbo's pull up thinking its just one of those rice mobiles and heckle your car when they are in a ES lancer with mirror tint and rims with more chrome than you poke a stick at with a welded on "JDM" Drift cannon and then the light goes green and you beat them without even cracking gate...
Brings a smile to my face every time and in no way gets old
Have high mount GT3582R on ETM manifold. is on boost and makes full boost quicker than standard twins and power delivery is much better.
I have never had an issue with cops even with the screamer pipe in plain view pretty much. Also if your doing the majority of the work yourself i would go for the single as it is a hell of a lot easier to work on and maintain that twin low mounts...
Beer can only do so much lol its all the little things that will kill a relatively modest budget on something like this.
RB25/30's are tried and tested and work, i usually go with better the devil you know than the one you don't
Obviously mine mustn't be plumbed in to the correct place on the housing....
Jeez a mates built rb25 with same turbo but 0.64 ex housing with a turbosmart 38mm gate on a shit ebay manifold where the gate comes out the base of the collecter controls 21psi and mine can't even control 10psi without spiking to 21psi...
For reference here is a HKS display engine with a good look as to how the wastegate is plumbed in. Obviously this would use at minimum the 50mm wastegate they produce.
Although on the subject of wastegate size. Standard XR6 turbo with upgraded 0.7 A/R comp cover and running the same 44mm tial gate with the same exhaust mod as mine and it runs perfect...
